If the carriages are moving freely, the belts are tight and the pulleys are good, I am at a loss, it's not a problem I have seen and I just use some eBay special belts. Maybe drop the speed and see if printing a bit slower helps.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Could the X,Y,Z Carriages be to tight, are all the v-wheels moving nice and smooth?by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Gowen, I have a slightly different experience with my Cherry Pi, if I sneeze on it I have to calibrate it, but it is a 4XL so I don't know if that makes a difference.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
I would check your configuration.h settings? Are you using the same configuration file with the new firmware? Are all your M666 settings the same as they were? When I updated the firmware I had to re input some of the M666 stuff, I guess a change in the eprom settings between versions causes some to get changed for defaults.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
David, I'm using 4mm cork.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
#David I cut out a cork sheet and glued it to the underside of my aluminium bed, it helps keep the heat from going down. It also stops you transferring some heat to the frame.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
So at less than 2mm is there enough clearance from the bottom of the probe to the print? I suppose with even 1mm you will be clear. Sounds like getting auto cal to run then moving the print height down with the paper test. Thanksby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Andy, The sensor has a 4mm trigger distance, how do you ensure the 4mm between the hot end tip to the sensor? Also have you had to change the sensor offset in the firmware config? Thanks Mattby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
#pugzor Glue stick on glass or blue tape. When I print PLA, glue stick on glass works great. With ABS I found blue tape without glue stick worked best. I wouldn't start mixing them. A smaller object can help if your bed isn't level, and when I was having first layer issues, I kept upping the temp, I now print PLA at 210, but I don't know how accurate that is, but it works for me. Mattby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Andy, I noticed on your PrntQB V5 your using a graphic display, what controller board do you use for your Core XY, also are you using the marlin firmware for it. Thanks Mattby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
#vreihen I have to admit I used the turn it until it moves calibration But I would like to know how to do it properly, I haven't got the first clue how to measure the amps going to the motor, do you know of a guide that would help to show how it is done correctly. I do have a multimeter and I can just about use it for volts and resistance. Thanks Mattby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Thanks Andy and Doug, I've just ordered a shed load of stuff for a CoreXY from Dold :/ I haven't finished the Cherry Pi yet.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Hi David, If your motors are just making a noise and not moving you might want to adjust the driver to give more power to the motor. The arms on home should go up to the limit switches. Mattby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
That's pretty awesome!! I would be needing a new Girlfriend if I was to build anything this size.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Pugzor, I have had hot end issues in the past also, what I found was that with some of the hotends, they appear to need the ptfe tube feeding all the way into it, I have had one that only went into the gas joint, and others that went through the gas join all the way down. When I didn't put the ptfe all the way down the filament would bunch up inside the hot end and block the nozzle. The filamentby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Andy, That's perfect, thanks a lot. I will get these printed tonight Mattby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Thanks Andy Trying to get any play out the system as I am having some issues calibrating. The tower offsets appear to change every time the carriage moves.. I could play a tune using the belts and have gone through everything else, just looking into the play in the frame now. The carriages appear nice and tight, no play as far as I can tell.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Andy Could I request a top bracket with bearing mount for the cherry pi III with a M5 hole in the outer side like the bottom bracket. I would like to tighten the top brackets a bit more as I have a bit of play and am reluctant to over tighten the bearing one bolts as last time I did that it bent the part. Thanks Mattby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
The first print is a bit rough, I'll go back through the calibration and take a bit more time.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
It prints I have only roughly calibrated it, but I couldn't wait any longer to try it out The AirTripper appears to be working greatby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Looks great Gary ! Thanks for the log also.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
I do the same thing for the 12V heated bed, I had a few issues with the ramps board overheating when I direct powered the bed and tried to get the temps up for ABS printing. You definitely need to disable PID though, or the relay sounds more like a buzzerby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
I altered the DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT for the extruder , I now get the right amount of material going through. I also connected the Bowden tube up the hot end and pushed some plastic through the nozzle. I had the temp set to 185 for pla and it pushed the plastic through using the extruder without any issues. Obviously this will be a bit different once there is back pressure but so far so goodby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Hi Andy, I did a bit of reading around and supposedly you can get away with feeding more plastic types with a direct drive extruder. I know the down side is you need a bigger stepper motor (40N.cm torque+ ) to push the plastic but I thought I would give it ago. I purchased a high torque stepper motor for the job. Just looking for instructions to calibrate it now as 10mm extrudes about 46mm curreby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Thanks Doug, but like I said without this forum and your guys helping out it would be an expensive paper weightby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Pictures of My Cherry Pi IIIS+ (260mm Diameter Build Platform, 170mm Build Height) Thanks to everybody on this forum and to Andy for all the work on the PI. All I have to do is calibrate the air tipper extruder and I might be able to print with itby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Thanks Andy, works much better with the jumpers on. Actually goes where it shouldby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
LOL, I did wonder what the big pack of jumpers where for Thanks Andy, I will look at that now.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Hi I have now wired up everything on my cherry pi but I am having a bit of an issue with the stepper motors. My pairs are Red, Blue and Green, Black. I have wired them Red, Blue, Green, Black in the plugs. When I advance the motor it make a noise and sometimes spins a bit but not consistently every time, adjusting the pot doesn't appear to make much of a difference, the tiutorials say you shouby Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
Depending on how good your soldering is you could use these :- They aren't too hard to solder and it saves drilling a hole.by Matt,Wheatley - Delta Machines
