I think you are right as a peristaltic pump, has lots of other applications, also i think might not be the best design. As an extruder really needs improvements and specially try lots of different materials. Syringe based extruders normally have more "pumping" force since the material doesnt need to "travel" that much, hence printing thicker materials is easier, is a matter of lots improvements.by LasVegasOle - Paste Extrusion Working Group
