Greetings fellow Reprapers! I want to ask you for advice regarding setting properly the Vref for my extremely hot stepper motors. But first some details to know what is the setup. - Reprap Prusa Mendel - Gen.7 1.5.1 electronics (thanks Traumflug!) - Pololu drivers And most importantly: 5 exact stepper NEMA17 motors: - degrees per step: 1.8 - voltage: 12 V - peak current: 0.5 A - resistance: 25by jedynywiking - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Fixed the problem. There was a short on the endstops. The printer works and moves. Thank you!by jedynywiking - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Thank you for your very fast answer! It helps a lot. Regarding the burned L1, I checked the board for shors after frying it, but will have to do it again with the light trick (so obvious, never popped into my head). The same will do with the optos. Thanks again! Pby jedynywiking - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Dear Gen7 users, after scratching some spare time, finally I managed to wire my Prusa Mendel, and solder the Gen7 board. Unfortunately, it burned... In particular, I supposes there is a short circuit somewhere, since one of the paths on the PCB got destroyed. I attach the scheme with marked part that went vapour. Now, here are some detailed specifications of my case: - Gen7-1.4.1 board providedby jedynywiking - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Thank you guys for such a quick link and useful tips! Following James advice, I will not be using them according to their purpose. On the other hand, it would be a waste not to use them I am thinking about "plastic spool holder". Any other inventive ideas ?by jedynywiking - General Mendel Topics
Hello Reprapers! I have a rather silly question: where do you use the parts from the attached picture? I got exactly two of them together with "parts for prusa mendel it.2". The "how to build" does not mention them. Its easy to figure out, that standard 608 bearings go nicely into the top. First I thought this is supposed to be some kind of plastic roll holder, but... Anyway, I went through thby jedynywiking - General Mendel Topics
Hello RepRappers, I am moving towards constructing my first Prusa Mendel printer. The guides are awesome, but quite general regarding printing plates. The question is: what material to use for the top and bottom plates of Prusa Mendel? I do not want to have heated bed now. Of course it would be best to use some easy-to-obtain and relatively cheap material that can be processed (cut) at home.by jedynywiking - Reprappers
