Hi I installed Teacup from master branch onto a Teensy 2.0 with the included example config, only modified as per below: I changed my steps_per_m and checked it is correct. Did not have to do any axis inversion as this is a new bot I am building, so I wired the motors correct way round (X- moves left, X+ right, Y- toward me, Y+ toward rear, Z- moves bed upward toward nozzle, Z+ moves it awayby peter6960 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Okay they arrived today. wired up to an Arduino and got u8gluib running in under 20 seconds! Impressive chip this ST7920 Okay, so back to Repetier. Cloned latest Dev branch from Github, changed to my board settings. With Display type 0 I compile fine As soon as I set display type to 5, compile fails UI_FONT_DEFAULT was not Declared. Peter Quotepeter6960 Thanks... Ordered some ST7920 rightby peter6960 - Repetier
Thanks... Ordered some ST7920 right away on ebay, now that my favourite firmware supports it (: Peterby peter6960 - Repetier
Which LCDs can I use if i wanted to use this on my own boards (i.e pinout less important). It used a1284p - so I assume SPI or I2C expanders as those 12864 lcds have a bunch of io pins and the 1284 is stretched thin...by peter6960 - Repetier
repetier is all you need (: marlin fans will burn me lol... But I love Repetier... Back to Betas: ceramic oscillators on a usb chip is looking for trouble. Trust me, been down that road before. Even with expensive oscillatorsby peter6960 - Controllers
Hi My markdown beta and bare 1.0 boards arrived (: Been soldering up the 1.0 first though (: Noticed some points - correct me if fixed in 1.1 - have not checked the board layout this morning 1. Mini USB - I have about 5 brands and all have two little nibs that go into holes in the footprint, keeps it lying still and cant move while soldering. In your footprint these holes are nonexistant.by peter6960 - Controllers
I will take one or two off your hands but in only if you tell me what I owe you (: and no not freeby peter6960 - Controllers
So... finally managed to kill my Sanguish beta i got from you (; Reverse polarity by mistake. fried voltage regulator - replaced. Fried atmega: replaced. Still not working again... Peterby peter6960 - Controllers
That USB section looks all wrong: Max 233 is not a USB-Uart?by peter6960 - Controllers
Here's the final versions of the boards mentioned in my previous post. Sure its not a gen7 in the singlesided diy fashion, but it is a Gen 7 by heart where it counts (; And the most important bit, as promised is that all the external circuitry and all the firmware will still work on you Gen 7 - so you can take advantage of this as well. Schematics etc posted on But just to show all the Rampby peter6960 - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Been scrouging your schematics with a eagle eye looking for any potential issues that could ruin your next run: here's some comments: Enable Lines - seems each chips has a seperate Enable line to the MCU? Waste of pins - they can all be run off one Enable pin, sometimes nice if Z is seperate (Disable Z while not in use) but i prefer the Gen7 style - all drivers enabled/disabled together. Thosby peter6960 - Controllers
So 0.25ohm would give 2A? (my nema 23's I wanted to push it to the max with are 2A) - nice burn in test - if it runs that without smoking it's perfect PS: Is the board 24v compatible? (obviously will need to heatsink the 7805 as at 24 they run hot. Lastly, why is there two spots of two paralel resistors? Each winding their own current sense resistor? Peterby peter6960 - Controllers
I have not used my Sanguish as much as I would have wanted to but here's what I did have issues with (sorry I always believe Beta is the time to mention that more than whats good - good there is but take the complaints as positive criticism meant in a very positive way ) Current setting: I asked Bryan to preset the current to my standard config which works quite well, no issues. But I wantedby peter6960 - Controllers
So, just incase any of you thought I was abandoning this, here's a small update 1. We spoke to Traumflug and sorted out the licensing Basing our design somewhat on the Gen 7 - most importantly by staying PIN COMPATIBLE so all exising firmwares can run on it, also using the Gen 7 bootloader to make that easier - we made our new controller It's also licenced NC... But feel free to make yoursby peter6960 - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Hi I was wondering - I use a MCP23007 for I2C LCD on RepetierFirmware Not enough regular pins left over (1284p) - can M42 be used with the remaining I2C Pins? Peterby peter6960 - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Yes please. I am on a mobile device and the black background screenshot is hard to read. Agreed, makes sense to integrate. Safety vs cost though (: Peterby peter6960 - Controllers
Personally i think HPB control should be offboard. I made small mosfet breakouts with footprint for minifit 4 and 6 way, plus two molex disc connectors and two screw merminals. With decent screw terminals out for the heatbed. 2pin 0.1 header and small patch wire to controller for signal and gnd. Keeps high current wires short, frees a lot of space on controller. Hpb control stays wired wby peter6960 - Controllers
I assume since its beta I am allowed so comments on the board? (: So my BETA arrived in South Africa last week. Spent the weekend playing a bit: Initial inpression: The good: The top along the stepper drivers looks good. Nicely chosen placement of components. I like that you did not solder in the TBs and use female headers. Should one pop ever, easy to replace. Looks secure, wiggled aby peter6960 - Controllers
My Arduino ide: support files + compiling repetier with SD for Gen 7 *michi* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Problem description see here: > Linkby peter6960 - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Even though USBtiny fails on the verification (reads), it actually writes perfectly You can safely ignore that... If there was an issue sketch upload would fail Set arduino to verbose mode - you'll see AVRDUDE writes all the way to the end. The read back to verify is all that fails Been doing this for months and no issues whatsoever with 1284p and 2560s evenby peter6960 - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
If you still have not managed: here's my working environment with Repetier - preconfigured for Gen 7 1.5/1.4.1 with SDby peter6960 - Next Wave Electronics Working Group

I actually etched up on of Xoan's GEN7S's today With white painted topside and toner transfered silkscreen it actually looks quite sexy And compared to a regular Gen 7 - the form factor change did not sound like much on paper, but in reality it really is a lot smaller And lastly - as most of you know I have a redrawn copy of the Gen 7 in eagle I use for my own botfarm - staying as close toby peter6960 - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Honestly? Throw them in the trash. Get your money back: Paypal disputes or VISA/MC/AMEX disputes. Buy pololu1182s stock shortages are a thing of the past so no need to buy crap from that scaly okeby peter6960 - Controllers
Thanks! Glad I noted the compatibility - layout a new version of the Hostless Expansion now as I switched to MCP23017s Also switched to 6 pin IDCs for all cables from the expansion to the panel. FTW! How about just specifying it as option: You solder in based on what you intend running on? No need to change board for that. I use 12v almost exclusively and love the bright LEDs showing heater are on xoan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > The current situation is, there's nothing > stopping one from operating a Gen7 with 24V for > the motors and/oby peter6960 - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
Hi James That one would use too many pins. And the Adafruit one is I2C but the 16x2 does get a bit too small. 20x4 is much more navigable Peter james520chen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > How are you! Hi Yeah I also got sidetracked for a while with other projects, moved down to the Coast, etc Today was actually a public holiday in South Africa, and must have been telepathy as I was working on it all day While at some point I almost thought it was an issue moving from 644 to 1284, or code, it seems the PCF8574's is the bull in that equation. Went and got some MCP23017's Copied the Paneloby peter6960 - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
From a gen7 user perspective, I have been closely following Xoan's posts now. I like the smaller layout: - Same, my local supplier guillotines smaller sizes as stock. For Gen7 I have to wait while they guillotine boards - Toner transfer. The average iron is smaller than the current Gen7. This means I cannot press the whole board in one go. Smaller boards are easier to iron onto copperclad. - Moby peter6960 - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
