Brilliant! That did help me find the reason - and it was all my fault of course :-) For the record: 1. It was happening every 2-3mins 2. Both short and long segments 3. I disabled the LCD and then it no longer paused. But the reason was that I had then plugged in the USB cable to reload the firmware. When I originally installed Repetier I had left the FTDI adapter board connected to the Gen 7 eleby pawPrint - Repetier
Sorry, I should have said. My printer has a standard cartesian configuration, as my design was based on an Ultimaker arrangement. The LCD is just a simple standard text 40x4 display, and the Generation 7 electronics is configured to run the chip at 20Mhz. I do have most of the steppers working at 1/16th micro-stepping, so I could try reducing that, but I know that it can all work from my previousby pawPrint - Repetier
Thanks, I've certainly have that happen, but sorry, I didn't make it clear that this is happening when printing directly from the printer's SD card, and isn't connected to my computer. Any other ideas?by pawPrint - Repetier
I have been getting a lot of brief pauses of approximately 0.5seconds each time, during print moves which leaves blobs spoiling the prints. When it happens I can usually see the buffer drop to zero or very low. This is with printing directly from SD card. Slowing down the feed rate doesn't solve it. I have increased the buffer to 32, but no help. I've taken out endstop checking during printing. Eby pawPrint - Repetier
I have just finished making my first Generation 7 1.4.1 board with an AVR 1284P at 20MHz and I came across a problem with the bootloader in the Arduino IDE Support v2.1. I burnt the booloader easily using an Arduino Uno as an ISP, but could not flash any firmware afterwards with an Arduino USB Serial Light adapter from the Arduino IDE. AVRdue reported a timeout error, as if the bootloader wasn'tby pawPrint - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
