I just changed belts on my core X/Y and in trying to set it up again I have somehow screwed up (of course). X and Y home correctly but when I go to home Z axis the bed drops as expected and goes up as expected but keeps going right into the print head and would keep going if I don't shut it down. I have set the z offset to something ridiculous like -10 and +10 but get the same behavior. The inducby roontoon - CoreXY Machines

Setting up Marlin 2.x.x on my CoreXY Hypercube build and where do you establish "home" in congiguration.h . When I do a G28 to test the print head goes as expected to the front left of the print bed. But it then goes to the center of the bed. Not sure what I have screwed up. I want the print head to end up at the front left and that spot being 0,0,0. My main issue is that I have a 300x300 mm bed that will not go above 66C. I am currently using a server power supply that is 12v/52amps.by roontoon - General
I am thinking of moving from 12v to 24v. I am using a Bigtreetech SKR v1.3 which can be used with 24 volts. Will the rest of the components, 2209 drivers, stepper motors, and bed be used with 24 volts? Thanks.by roontoon - General
Trying to set up Z auto-align for the first time on a 320x320mm bed with a usable 300x300mm area. Could someone interpret what the positions are on the following statements? Thanks. #define Z_STEPPER_ALIGN_X { 10, 150, 290 } #define Z_STEPPER_ALIGN_Y { 290, 10, 290 }by roontoon - Firmware - Marlin
I am using a Bigtreetech V1.3 SKR 32bit board along with an optocoupler between the inductive sensor and the controller board. When every axis is at 0,0,0 the light on the sensor comes on along with the light 12v side of the sensor. Which is correct. the 5-volt side of the sensor has three terminals VCC, signal, ground. When the inductor is triggered the signal terminal shows 0 volts and when itby roontoon - General
Hi, I am doing my first build of a core x/y hypercube with a Bigtreetech SKR 1.3 board. I am just bringing my z motors alive and I am testing one at a time to make sure I have them connected correctly. One of the motors works just fine but the other when tested alone chatters and the motor doesn't seem to turn the leed screw. Don't have a clue as to the issue. Thanks for any help.by roontoon - CoreXY Machines

OK still working on this issue which I had with my first SKR 1.3. Bought another board to make sure I had a working one. Works fine with the jumpers set to USB and the Pi hooked up normally with a USB cable and to a regular Pi power supply. I can connect to the SKR and send Gcode commands and get responses. Powered everything down and changed the jumper to internal, hooked up my PI via a separateby roontoon - Controllers
Hi. I am. building a hypercube core xy printer and I am getting an error when installing marlin.. I have been referencing this drawing for my wiring and were the power in connectors are there is only 5A and 11A marked with no voltage. I am using a server power supply with 3.3, 5 and 12 volts but I have see no reference for the voltage requirement on the Ramps board? I know at least one of the connectors is for 12v but do I also feed a 5v connection? Also in terms of the 11A and 5A markings aby roontoon - RAMPS Electronics
Do you have to make accommodations in your 3D software such as Blender if you are printing with multiple colors. I really haven't seen any info on the design of the object or creation of the g-code for multi color objects. Would someone point me in the correct direction? Thanks!by roontoon - 3D Design tools
Thanks! I used a magnifying glass to look at the pin labels and pointed the A1, A2, B1, B2 pins towards the stepper motor header pins.by roontoon - RAMPS Electronics
Just got my RAMPS board for my first build. I checked out for the instructions but I am a little unclear on the orientation of the stepper drivers. Is there a pin one and what direction should it be oriented with the power connections pointing to the left as a reference. Also there were jumpers include in the kit but again I am unclear as to where to connect them. Any help or a point to the corrby roontoon - RAMPS Electronics
I am at the point of wiring my first build and I was wondering what the sizing of the wires should be and in particular the wires leading to the heated bed and the hot end. Also I am considering a removable extruder and wanted to know what anyone is doing about disconnecting the wiring from the extruder to change it out with another. I am in the middle of my first design to be printed on my new printer. I am designing a fan duct and ave designed it in blender. My question is there a way to add thickness to the walls of the design easily? Eac wall is only one vertices thick and I am not sure if that is thick enough for printing. Thanks for the reply Cat.Farmer (hope you have a good crop ) Here is a link for some instructions that I just found... I encountered a bit of a problem with my Pursa I3 build. I downloaded the STLs and manual from Open 3D Engineering and everything has been going fine until I got to putting together the cold end of the extruder. Hi, I am at the point where I am buying parts for an Prusa i3 build and I would like to have the option of having an additional extruder. My question is will a RAMPS shield handle the additional stepper motor for the second extruder. If it cannot do you have any recommendations for electronics that will handle that plus an LCD display. Will the gen7 board handle it? Or were you talking about all boards? In terms of the relay can you give me a quick schematic? I can follow them but not too good on figuring it out with out one.... 8-( In total I want to run the motors, several fans, two print heads and two heaters. Another question comes to mind is the y axis rod length. Is there a formula to determine the length of the rods on the y axis? Thanks for clarifying that gmh39. Was scratching my head. What to you think about sharing the same hole in the bed with each heater? Do you think that would cause a hotter area between the two heaters?by roontoon - General
Thanks to all for the replies and suggestions. I have attached a mockup drawing of a longer bed. I don't know if the small gap between the two heat beds will be an issue with the machine. I also am not sure if you can overlap the two heating elements to use the same hole on the bed, perhaps making a hot spot. Any advise?by roontoon - General
