Mi se pare ca firele de 220 sunt cam aproape de placa, in mijloc o sa fie destul de fierbinte si cu timpul o sa se coaca tot ce e izolatie a firelor. Ar fi bine ce e 220, cablurile sa fie cat mai departe de bed, 1-2cm, distantate si de bed si intre ele. Adica in caz ca se topeste izolatia sau ceva, sa nu faca scurt nici intre ele, si nici cu bedul pt ca bedul va fi probabil prins in suruburi de pby NoobMan - Suport instalare si punere in functiune

You should not try use DMM to check the voltage on driver output to motors, because that is high frequency (range like 10's of Khz) while a digital multimeter reads like 3 times per second (3 Hz), so whatever the digital multimeter shows, the results ar not worthy of trust. Pai ca interferente electromagnetice, asta e o chestie generala. Nu pozitia sursa/arduino/drivere conteaza, ci a firelor lor, pt ca astea sunt cele care actioneaza ca "antene". Sursa nu face probleme. Arduino nici atata - campul depinde de amperaj iar arduino nu consuma mai nimic. In privinta sursei de alimentare, faptul ca bedul merge la 220v asta ofera multa libertate in a folosi aproape orice fel de sursa. The current rating depends on the cross-section of the conductive area. It does not matter if its round, square or oval. Just the conductive area, like in mm^2 (squared). If it has a hole in it, that hole gets removed for not being conductive. If you want higher current rating you could use a solid copper conductor. A motherboard usb has some sort of short circuit protection, a current limit (i think in range 1A or less), and if the load wants to draw more than that it gets disconnected instead. Ca sa demagnetizezi un magnet trebuie in general o temp intre 300 si 800 grade celsius, iar la magnetii de stepper probabil e valabil ultimul interval. Sper ca nu vrei sa faci heated chamber de genul asta. About mosfets being used as switches, i think its a semantics difference of what that means literally. What the use of the words evocate / what expression is understood as. So ill try clarify what means to me. Just read arshia mentioned 3.9ohms per coil. Then coil current would go to ~3amps. Quickfix could try 5v psu for the motors, something like an atx 5v line. Then current would go to 5v / ~4ohms = 1.25A which should be manageable and less heat. But still a 1.25A current would make quite some heat and we dont know how high the motor is rated (what does it say on the label?). Most, if not all electronics solutions use an EN (enable) wire to toogle the stepper driver output to the motors. And most, if not all firmwares do disable the stepper driver outputs after a certain timer of inactivity, like 30 secs or so. Salut. Nu mai stiu daca triacul era de 6A sau 8A, dar oricum tot nu tre sa se incalzeasca deloc. Rezistentele asa cum sunt in poza in stea, mi se mai putin echilibrate termic adica mijlocul ramane mai incalzit decat restul. Iar distantele mai ales in centru sunt cam critice si mi se par mai greu de facut, in general fiind vorba de raze si unghiuri. Imho 4mH is not *that* high inductance, and it certainly does not look like a high inductance motor type. So imho you could just buy a 24v power supply from ebay or use a 12v atx one. The 3.5A per phase in case of 2 phases goes to double because the driver feeds both coils at same time, maybe in opposite directions, but still "at same time" (not intermittently). The stepper motor normally runs hot. Maybe your lower amp supply simply just can not provide the set current in which case they dont get as hot as the other case, but they miss steps and such. There is one important thing about it, do you have feedback loop, e.g. how does the system sense the coil current and how do you change the current level. Pentru extruder eventual poti lasa rotita aia acolo daca gasesti o varianta sa o folosesti ca atare poti sa faci extruder direct drive. Eu am incropit ceva de genul. If the motor gets disconnected while the driver outputs are enabled (even at idle when it holds position), then the driver has most chances to burn. Maybe the connector of the X motor has a bad spot, gets heated at some point and then doesnt make electrical contact properly. Or maybe you disconnected the motor while driver outputs were enabled.
