(note : the "2.2" was an interemediate version, using the printed parts of the 2.1 with the nema17 extruder and few little things, as the printed part could accomodate both nema 14 and 17)by Emmanuel - FoldaRap
Here is now the latest stable version of our little FoldaRap Here are the main following improvements : * replacing the extruder nema14 by a nema17, having 3-4x time more torque * slightly simpler assembly (same feet on front and rear side, adding a rear plate for the plug/switch, etc.) * implementing several contributions from the community, like the nut-holder to adjust the bed (Damien) or thby Emmanuel - FoldaRap

Hi Xoan ! Nice to know that you are going to build a Mondrian 1) depending on motors the screw hole is more or less deep, ours are just enough to hold the screw but 0.5mm maybe, using washer as spacers is a good idea 2) in fact the screws are used to adjust the play, like the four grubscrew for the other directionby Emmanuel - FoldaRap
That's right ! It's the same, and instead of placing the power switch in the previous "rear foot right" it's in a acrylic panel added between the front feet (or maybe we could say at the rear of the machine now).by Emmanuel - FoldaRap
In fact the bolt is screwed in the plastic, either by the top (it allow an easier adjustement on the fly), or by the bottom (it may be easier to screw it in if the z-slider is already on the foldarap)by Emmanuel - FoldaRap
This idea was recently revived for the Mondrian3 (being a little too huge for a bowden), the files are here for those who want to play with it :by Emmanuel - FoldaRap
At this moment it was the pulley that was taking the load (on the printed part), it worked but needed a well adjusted tightening to turn smoothly while having no play in Z. It was redesigned few weeks ago to use two bearings, but this time the assembly is simpler as the pulley is inserted in force between the two bearings. (the downside is that the printed parts need to be designed for the pulleby Emmanuel - FoldaRap
It should work, as repsnapper will just stream the Gcode to the board, and marlin or other firmware should interpret it normally as it's mostly G1 moves (I guess, from my experience where we used a small cnc with a Sanguinololu and gcode from pycam)by Emmanuel - RepSnapper
Cool ! With the current development in Italy and France the wiki will need to be re-organized to show all the options that modularity allow to choose fromby Emmanuel - FoldaRap
that's cleverby Emmanuel - General
Sorry for the remaining picture of a previous build, as you may have noticed all the endstops are wired as "normally closed" (the middle pin is not used) You can always invert the logic of the endstop in the firmware if needed, but I've just updated that part of the wiki to avoid confusionby Emmanuel - FoldaRap

Thanks for sharing, it's always interesting to see gmh39, your drawing could be possible, if you add panels on the frame (wood, acrylic, etc) you can remove one Y extrusion of the frameby Emmanuel - FoldaRap
One of the reasons for the moving motors was to make it more modular and to shorten the lenght of the belt, as this design is intented to be scaled up easily, and ultimately replacing belts by printed rack&pinion But both solutions are working fineby Emmanuel - FoldaRap
Hi Conoral11 I was using 14N.cm motors previously (from Zappautomation or Ldo-motors). The motors you pointed at are ok, you can have them also directly from their website "robotdigg", just add in the comment that you want 1.25A (300rpm) for the movements, the 0.8A (100rpm) is better suited for an extruder.by Emmanuel - FoldaRap
yeah he told me he was crazy busy and had some time recently to update his github repo ^^ I'll have a try at nema 17 too, it will certainly help on bigger sized machinesby Emmanuel - FoldaRap
