Holly cow is this an old thread. I threw this out a few years ago. VDX is correct that the cost of an extra motor is so low as to negate any need for such a design. A much more interesting polar design can be seen here.by mmiscool - Polar Machines, SCARA, Robot Arms

Hello, I am looking for an alternative to printrun's command line gcode sender for some reason it likes to stall and that is a problem. Are there any alternatives that are available a robust. I am using a rasbery pi and do not want to use octoprint. I am using the devices native serial serial pins and bypassing the USB to serial converter so the flow control would have to happen in the gcode sby mmiscool - General

So it took a long time to get to this point. We launched a kick starter. It is a 3d printer with an automatic part ejection system and web based print queue. It also integrates an open source parametric 3d modeler package that runs in the web browser.by mmiscool - Delta Machines
So this week end I am at maker faire new York. If you are in the area check out the Autodrop3d boothby mmiscool - Delta Machines
See the video. The delta printer is permanently mounted above a bed that is able to move. The bed moves in such a way that it can be pushed or pulled against a permanently mounted blade that cuts/scrapes the model off of the print bed. The part falls in to a box located below the printer. All is driven off of a single web based queue that can handle management of multiple printers and slicinby mmiscool - Delta Machines
Yeah. I removed 2 sides of the triangle on the current printer build. I have a rectangular area.by mmiscool - Delta Machines
So I solved my EMI problem. I just hooked up a raspberry pi 0 w. The pi 0 W has real serial pins and I simply bypassed the USP to serial interface on the ramps board. Switched to using pronterface's command line gcode sender and whipped up a little shell script that runs the printer. It is all working pretty well now. Looking for any one who might want to try and duplicate the printer atby mmiscool - Delta Machines
Any one know of a command line gcode sender for linux that supports Marlin. I am attempting to do some automation and need to be able to control the printer via a shell script.by mmiscool - General
Yes. That is how its working. I actually am looking for a bit of help. It seems that I have some sort of problem with the control board for the 3d printer. I have an opti-coupled relay for controlling the linear actuator but when ever i use any of the GPIO on the ramps board it seems to make the serial connection go dark. I even resorted to using a servo motor to flip a switch but even thatby mmiscool - Delta Machines
Building version 3 of the machine going to be publishing plans for it on my web site here soon. I got the firmware worked out ok I think now. Also have a new way for the trap door to clamp. Going to be using a lenear actuator. Should be fun.by mmiscool - Delta Machines
The printing on the paper works fine with PLA. I did limited testing on ABS. Current;y I don't clean the nozzle because I print a thick raft. A raft can cover a lot of 3d printing sin. I could really use some help making my gcode sender compatible with marlin firmware. Looking for a real marlin expert.by mmiscool - Delta Machines
Got a new video.by mmiscool - Delta Machines
Been having really good luck with this system. Have a big old pile of parts all off of this machine with out any human interaction.by mmiscool - Delta Machines
Any one out there interested on collaborating on this project? I am making all the stuff I used for it open source. Would be interested in developing it further.by mmiscool - Delta Machines
Poor quality video demonstration continuous printing. Ejection and more printing. Video demonstration of the web based 3d printer queue and slicing system. Page with links and information about the progress on how i got to this point and links to the git hub repositories for the stuff.by mmiscool - Delta Machines
Hello, I am looking for a way to slice an stl from the command line and also export an image of the sliced model. I am attempting to set up some batch jobs and it would be simpler to look at a bunch of images for verification than do it all desperately. Dose any one know how to make this kind of thing happen with slic3r?by mmiscool - Slic3r
Hello, Is this available open source. It would be nice to integrate in to a web site for requesting a print rather than uploading an stl and running it throug slic3rby mmiscool - 3D Design tools
Hello, I am looking for a slicer program that is written in javascript that can be used in a web browser. Dose any one know of such software?by mmiscool - Experimental
Also the model is stored localy in the browsers local storage. No data is interchanged with the cloud. There is a way to do a build on this project that makes it so it will work with out node.js after the initial build. At that point any web server could be used to host it. Currently the web-cad.org web site lags behind the development version in the master branch on git hub.by mmiscool - 3D Design tools
I am currently running windows and have been using laragon as my web server. If you download laragon and use the termi al program supplied with it all should work for getting your local system working.by mmiscool - 3D Design tools
It is 100% javascript parametric sketcher based 3d modeler running in web browser. Found this the other day. The demo link in the git hub is out of date so best bet is to build your own but this is pretty slick.by mmiscool - 3D Design tools
Hello, I started kicking around a concept for a supper cheap 3d printer last night. It works with a rotating bed that when it dose a complete rotation it can move the vertical access. I am not too familiar with all the firmware out there but this looked like it could be tweaked to be compatible. I am attaching a few pictures of the concept. Let me know what you thinkby mmiscool - Polar Machines, SCARA, Robot Arms
