ok, its the seam concealment patend that was published in 2013. filed in 2009.by RBisping - General
hmm. sorry I just read the infill patent again and it was granted in 97 not 2013. I will have to look over them again to see which one is the 2013 patentby RBisping - General
well, if stratsys has been using sparse infill for a long time why would they attemp to patend it in 2013? they would have long past any grace period for patend filing.by RBisping - General
if you go back through the reprap blog logs and nophead's blog, also the reprap control software/slicer and skeinforge you will see the initial references to sparse infill even before the first replication. the origional extruders for darwin were teribly slow and sparse infill was concieved of to speed up print times and reduce plastic usage. the oldest version of skeinforge ive been able to stilby RBisping - General
while I havent seen anyone do this yet I have seen similar things done with blender. simulating a robot on the screen and then controling the robotic simulation. It also might be posible to create a openscad of the printer or utilize the mendel90 open scad files and adjust the arduino simulator outputs to cotrol the scad simulation.by RBisping - General
traumflug: while makerbot may have a boost in sales over some period of time and individuals at makerbot may make insane amounts of cash over that period of time, they have already painted themselves into a corner with their software/firmware lockin issue. I am all for as many people buying makerbot's as can be made. but it comes back to something that adrian said, a reprap can make a reprap andby RBisping - General

when I was suggesting floating the laser the idea i had was to have the alignment rods on the outside of the build tank so they would not come in contact with either the salt water or the resin. Note: been looking back on my posts and may not have made this suggestion here.by RBisping - General
Its been known for a while that most of the future inovation in reprap will have to be in software. Something that we dont need yet but I forsee needing soon is a multi-axis slicer. currently we are limited to @2 1/2-3 axis but very soon 4-6 axis printers will become the norm. I already have a couple of designs for a increased axis printer that i just dont build because there is no slicer to drivby RBisping - General
not sure how to take that but when it comes to the 3d printing realm most patendable idea's have already been patended, well with the exception of ideas that no one has thought of before. What I have problems with people patending or attempting to patend is things already published. As a note on a patend that should be invalid on its face is makerbot's patend of the automated build platform. Weby RBisping - General
juniors major falure was in having posted significant information on his expiriments and then purging the blog posts when he thought he could patent his process and make a mint. He generated a bit of animosity from the comunity and it showed when he started his indiegogo funding campaign. from what i remember he came nowhere near his goal and at the same time the B9 kickstarter flew past both hisby RBisping - General
the amount of outgassing of whatever toxic chemical it was is unknown and it did take about a month of pretty steady printing to cause adverse reactions. also what is emited realy depends on the type of nylon its self. I believe if i purchased some taulman nylon i wouldnt have the problem. I also accept that my reaction may have been pshycosomatic from my infered knowledge and the rather pungentby RBisping - General
just as a note I had to stop printing with the nylon trimmer line ive been using. I live on a boat and my printer is in the boat. Nylon emits cyanide above certain tempratures and I started getting increasing levels of nausea and head ache's the more i printed. Im assuming that i was building up toxicity levels in my system and until i get a venting system installed my experiments are over.by RBisping - General
no, the design is still essentialy the same as a B9 or junior veloso's dlp system. you shine the uv source from the bottom and have a build plate you pull out of the vat to draw the printed object upwards. The peachy system is building up towards the source laser which would cause a scale variation with greater build heights. though i can see a solution to that by mounting the laser on a floatingby RBisping - General
yes, i do mean sticking to the tank rather than the build plate. Im aware that several methouds of preventing tank adhesion have been utilized but having a thin layer of water for the resin to float on still has a bit of promise.by RBisping - General
while I do plan on supporting this kickstarter it has also given me ideas for my DLP project to correct the printed part from adhering to the glass projection suface. The B9 uses a moving platen to prevent adhesion but this makes me think of adding 1/16" or so of water under the resin. there might be some issues with doing so. like pulling the water up into uncured voids, but then again if the voby RBisping - General

i modified the x carriage to fit two makerbot mk8 style extruders on it. so far im still just getting it set up and havent started printing with it yet the file is on thingiverse.by RBisping - Mendel90
the only thing that licensing something physical under a gpl/cc license can do is place a idea into common knowledge and therefore not unique or patentable.by RBisping - General
I do though getting the makerbot firmware that Im using to work well is a problem due to several bugs. I know that using two seperate stl's works with teh makerbot firmware can be done. but I keep working to get dual extrusion support material printing functioning properly.by RBisping - General
there is a difference between a legal obligation and a moral one. the difference between hardware and software which also equates to the difference between copywrite and patent. the difference is not a bad thing its just a thing.by RBisping - General
there are several raised text and braille objects and modules on thingiverse if you would like to look at them. there are also a few openscad scripts that can take a picture and automagicaly convert it into a height map I hope some of this is helpful to youby RBisping - General
hmm, it seems to have something to do with a comment on your posts. if i look at the overview (now) i can see your posts but if i go to a specific entry everything blanks out when it loads the commentsby RBisping - General Mendel Topics
just a note: it appears something is going on with your blog page. unless the problem is in blogspot its self. page clears with a blank page after loading. checked my blog page and a couple others and they load fine so at a guess there is a script running on one of your posts thats clearing the pages.by RBisping - General Mendel Topics
s'ok mate I am patient, just not very and since my intentions are to make it out of welded stainless sheets It will probably be necessary to make some minor alterations.by RBisping - General Mendel Topics
sounds good. I dont realy need any instructions. or at least im pretty sure I dont, the pictures and diagrams Ive seen on your blog are pretty self explanatory for me. Just looking for the printed part files and the hole locations for mounting.by RBisping - General Mendel Topics
