Is your Z axis end stop a switch type? Those switch may not be accurate..... when you say it does not go to the height you set, is it like 0.1-0.2mm or a lot like 5mm? SWby Soon Wei - Singapore RUG

Hi Guys, Just to bring this thread back as the Maker Faire is on tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. Some update for my work, I have just modified my printer to a tri color head. (Not a good move, as I have to dismantle the machine to modify the machine and now the mechanical alignment are out. ) But the good part is that the print head is up. If I am able to get it work tonight, we will be able toby Soon Wei - Singapore RUG
The driver for both 1.8 and 0.9 are the same. 0.9 deg stepper gives higher resolution, only price is higher. stepper are drive by pulse from controller, so in 0.9 deg stepper will need 2x pulse control etc. (there are some more detail requirement....) SWby Soon Wei - Singapore RUG
Hey guys, my partner have 2 Rostock build successful. We are in the progress of getting parts for it as a kit set. Interested to discuss more? PM me if you are. Thanks. Cheers, SWby Soon Wei - Singapore RUG
Anyone looking for white ABS 3mm? I recently converted my machine to 1.75mm and now stuck with few KG of 3mm ABS. Do let me know if anyone interested. Regards, SWby Soon Wei - Singapore RUG
Do take note of machine, nozzle difference, I recently switch from ABS to PLA thinking that PLA always at 170+ only. Ended with much pain (sort of like extruder skip step or filament jam) and found that it works well at higher temp.(using 185 now) Hope you guys don't fall in this,. But be careful as the temperature set higher, the cold end side (filament entering heating zone) may soften and jam.by Soon Wei - Singapore RUG
The online is selling at US$99. So should be at that range. (not include shipping, oversea usually $20+) Do note that it does not include the driver board(around US$10-15/pcs). I am preparing for the A4988 and DRV8825. (2 different version) Do let me know if you want as some people are asking me to reserve for them. A few will be use by me and 2-3 Reprap comrades for our new machine. Cheers, Sby Soon Wei - Singapore RUG
Hi, preview of RUMBA Board Black version. Cheers, SWby Soon Wei - Singapore RUG
Usually I turn it on all the way. Yet to try switch it off half way. (when it cool, it will contract. so it's anybody guess if it will peel off the platform. If it peel easily, u can set the height lower (I am saying in terms of 0.05mm lower) This will force the print flatter onto the glass n stick better. 3D printer is usually trial and error for us to know which works best on the machineby Soon Wei - Singapore RUG
What material are you using? Do you have heated bed? If yes temperature set? PLA - need to have a clean base (I use glass) with heated bed ABS - heated bed with glass and sprayed with acrylic paint. others use abs juice(acetone with abs melted) Hope these helps. google the above key words with 3d printer will usually yield lots of answer. abs juice - Cheers, Soon Weiby Soon Wei - Singapore RUG
Agree with bigfilsing and TechnicZ . It is better to have a basic appreciation of the machine and better handle it later on. Cheers, SWby Soon Wei - Singapore RUG
