In Slic3r which speed setting can I boost up and which one should be slowest? Many thanks, Arthurby arthurmani - Slic3r
Guys what do you do when the edges have little blobs? Which parameter should I change to get the edges clean? I have tried increasing the refraction spead to 60mm/s but it did not help much (please see: ) Many thanks, Arthurby arthurmani - Slic3r
I am struggling to find resources on how fast or slow my extruder should be in relation to the speed of my prints. I hope you can help.by arthurmani - Slic3r
jamesdanielv, sorry how can i do that? I have looked around but can't find the button...by arthurmani - General
Emaker from the IRC forum helped a lot: I don't have the 10mm long 3mm diameter PTFE liner inside the extruder.by arthurmani - General
I have the same issue and someone recommended this extruder: I tried the solution on this thread and it did not help unfortunately... Many thanks, Aby arthurmani - FoldaRap
Thanks a lot Jamesdanielv. Can you please explain this a bit more: "ptfe tubing should extend down to the hot end before the cooling block". The hot zone is too short> does that mean I need to buy a bigger hot zone? Ptfe tubing cannot extend down because there is a brass screw... Many thanks, Aby arthurmani - General
Hello, My filament very often gets stuck in the brass extruder or nozzle and I cannot remove it or extrude anymore when this happens. The only solution I found in this case is to unscrew the nozzle and remove the filament manually. Usually I see a big lump which was probably blocking it. This is quite a long process. Is there a reason why the filament forms a lump and/or gets stuck? Is there aby arthurmani - General
Thank you very much Traumflug, I know that but how do you ask for the temperatures? I am guessing from your answer that it is a specific Gcode command?by arthurmani - Developers
Hi guys, Is there a c# method to read the temperatures of a RepRap extruder and bed? Many thanks, Arthurby arthurmani - Developers
Thanks bobc, sorry I meant `myReceivedLines` will edit the question and post it on a programming forum.by arthurmani - Developers
Hi Guys, When connecting to a serial port using the code below, the program displays feedback from it. When sending a new command to the serial port, the feedback disapears. How could I append the new data coming from the port to a list of string within `myReceivedLines` instead of loosing it every time a new command is sent? Many thanks, Arthur Code: //Fields List myReceiby arthurmani - Developers
Sorry I solved that by doirng: SerialPort.Write("G28"+"\n")by arthurmani - Developers
Thanks bobc, is it something like: port.Write("g28"+"\n"); or port.Write("g28+\n");by arthurmani - Developers
Hi Guys, Martin, thank you so much for your help! I wrote a new code which is now receiving data from the RepRap. The problem I am facing now is that the gcode that I send doesn't seem to be recognize by the device. Trying to send the gcode `g28` through the line port.Write("g28");. My program connects to the right serial port however when I try sending the information as string the access toby arthurmani - Developers
Thank you very much Bob, Does it give more time for the DataReceived to fire? Is there a way to get a line saying "connecting..." while it connects to the port? Also, the data received from the serial port uses a new line for every character as opposed to line by line for every "sentence". Is there a way to get "sentences" to appear on separate lines as opposed to character? Many thanks, Aby arthurmani - Developers
Hi Guys, The code below builds with no errors, the connection to the device seems to work too although I do not get any feedback from the device. on V.S., I have placed a break point at the line `myReceivedLines = sp.ReadExisting();` and the variable `myReceivedLines` comes back null. On pronterface, couple lines of feedback appear when the reprap is connected (see below), why is this variableby arthurmani - Developers
Trying to send gcode to my reprap through the c# code below that got from martinprice2004 on this thread. I am wondering if all the repraps get connected to COM5@250000 by dafault before someone change the rate in the firmware? Many thanks, Arthurby arthurmani - Developers
Thanks Martin, I have checked the baud rate in the device manager port setting and specified the rate of 9600. Pressing the `open` button did not create an error. I then pressed some of the buttons like `G11 D 315 ` or `G0 X -120.711 Y 170.711 Z -120` but the machine does not move. Under the receive data I have `~?.#_?[5?Z??` what does this mean? It could mean that I am still not connected. Unfby arthurmani - Developers
Hi Martin, Thanks a lot for your reply! I opened the Helium Frog Hexapod project and ran the program. When opening the COM5@115200 i had an error saying `Access to the port 'COM5' is denied.` This happens on the port.Open(); line on the method buttonOpenPort_Click() below. Do you know what is happening? All the best, Arthur private void buttonOpenPort_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)by arthurmani - Developers
Hi Guys, I have been looking at the printerface.py code but I could not find the line that sends the gcode to the com port on which the printer is connected. Hope you can help me to find it and how do you recommend sending a gcode to the printer once it is ready as an array of string (I am using c# and Windows 7)? I have looked at the System.IO.Ports.SerialPort.Write(String) method in MSDN.by arthurmani - Developers
Thanks New Perfection, emaker from the irc chat helped me identified a short circuit on my bed temp. I got 2000 0.01 ohms. How can I solve this?by arthurmani - General
Hi Guys my printer is not responding to pronterface and this is what i get on my console when connecting. What should I do? FPU Enabled no Error:Temperature heated bed switched off. MAXTEMP triggered !! Error: Printer halted. kill() called !! Many thanks, Arthurby arthurmani - General
Hi Guys, How do you recommend sending the gcode to the firmware through a specific COM port? (I am using Windows 7 and C#) Is the Write(string) method in the SerialPort class the most appropriate? Many thanks, Arthurby arthurmani - Developers
Thanks guys, do you know how to activate a good skirt or ring around the print on slic3r settings?by arthurmani - General
Hi guys, Is there an explaination for all the expressions "jitter layer count" "clip layer count""stretch layer count"...etc... that appear when loading an STL on pronterface? Many thanks, Arthurby arthurmani - General
Hi guys, What are your usual steps when printing a new object? Do you push the filament manually to the extruder until you see something coming out? or do you just launch the print? Many thanksby arthurmani - General
Hi guys, Struggling to find a full kit for the Prusa Mendel online. I am based in the UK and have tried RepRapPro but they are not taking orders yet. Any advice would be very helpful. Many thanks, Arthurby arthurmani - General
