Hi Hobbymods, thanks for your post. Interesting stuff... currently I have to put this project to something like on-hold as I realize that before I start with it I need to get done 2 more things. First one is to get a reliable budget and second is to get enough time to work on it. So I am trying to settle up a small business from which I could have some budget to support the development. Hi all, thanks for all your answers. I agree with you that some kind of smaller mobile robot would be much better then big frame Farmbot. I am definitely for this idea. I already started to make a testing prototype. About 610 x 610 mm from alu profiles. I already have prepared a moving part in X and Y axis (will need to add Z later). I will create the height of the robot for now about 500mm but wby boylucky - Developers
Hello VDX and Leadinglights, thanks for your comments and ideas. You are absolutely right that Farmbot frame is not rigid enough and that the extrusions are making it more expensive as needed. Completely agree with you. I want to keep the project as simple as possible and also as cheap as possible but reliable for requited work. My thoughts was in a way to modify the Farmbot hardware a bit to maby boylucky - Developers
Hello Viktor (VDX), thanks for your message. That project of your friend really sounds similar to this one. It is a pitty that he stopped it. Anyway thanks for this. There could be many approach regarding the tools the bot could use. Maybe it would be good to start in the beginning to just create a wheeled machine which would be able to orientate in the given space. Create it in form when it canby boylucky - Developers
Hello all, I would like to ask here if there would be some developers interested in developing Farming bot which is in many aspects similar to RepRap projects. I am not saying it is absolutely the same thing, but people developing and contributing to RepRap forum could be a great power for inventing a farming bot used for home gardens growing food for themself and for small farms. I am sorry ifby boylucky - Developers
Hi all, just want to ask you if anybody know where to buy ring heater for hotend like the one used for example on Mini Hotend from Deltaprint or another one . Do you have any experiences with such heaters or would you know where to get them? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.by boylucky - Developers
Ok, now I see also that they mentione the UV resin there but do not see any pictures with the result if he succeedby boylucky - Developers
Thanks VDX for your posts. Looks good. I also tried my own solution for 3D printing with soil. Here you can see some test printing video here But the question is if the UV resin could be used for it and if some cheap diods would be fast enough to make it solid when out of the nozle and if it would make a sense.by boylucky - Developers
Hi all, probably stupid idea but why not to ask . Do you think that it would be possible to make clasic FDM printer which would use UV resin flowing from the head with UV diod instead of PLA and other filaments? I mean if there would be possible to change the normal hotend for something where the UV rasin would slowly flow out and would be imediately solidify by UV light (some small cheap UV dioby boylucky - Developers
Hi xebbmw, yes that is what I planed to do there in the next design. The effector I use is just the fast base effector just for testing of the printer concept. So definitely should go the direction you mentioned in the future. Thanks for your comment.by boylucky - Developers

Meanwhile I also created a basic page about this delta 3D printer where you can also get the STL files. Page is still in development but can be used for some info now. You can access it here.by boylucky - Developers
Thanks Dancer, the piezo looks good until what I checked for now. I have no experiences with it so could be interesting to test it. Do you have any suggestion which one to select? Should be cheap enough because otherwise it loose the sence to use it in the cheap 3D printer. I will also try in the discussion you mentioned.by boylucky - Developers
Hi all, first I would like to thanks for your ideas and coments. @ dc42 - I checked the Fisher Delta printer and I remember I wanted to order one of it some time ago but it was not available at that time. It looks similar to my idea to provide a low cost delta printer in Europe. I was also thinking to use only the smooth rods as the construction of the printer. But I wanted to do the frame moreby boylucky - Developers
Hi Trakyan, the build surface is a glass with a tiny layer of a dry glue. I wanted to remove the heated bed to reduce power consumption and to use a less powerfull power supply. I successfully run the printer with 75W power supply (when measured it runs under 50W, mostly about 40W). But I am not good in electronics so probably would be better to use a bit powerfull one to avoid some problems. Anyby boylucky - Developers
I am sorry, the name of the topic was probably not choosen correctly. I did not ment I invented new features of the delta printer. I just wanted to say that I made my design of delta printer which I am going to share. You are right that there is not much difference between this printer and Kossel mini design. I wanted to make the construction more stabel so that is why I used the 3030 alu profileby boylucky - Developers
Hi all, I would like to ask you for your opinion about my Delta 3D printer design. I wanted to create relatively cheap 3D printer (under 200 €) for people as a starting point in 3D printing. Basic parameters are: Printing area - 160mm circle diameter, 150mm height of the object Printer size 320mm, height 520mm + spool of PLA on the top. Carbon rods 200mm with traxxas rod ends. Electronics: Arduby boylucky - Developers
Thank you all for your comments. I will try the robotdigg products.by boylucky - Developers
Hi all, first of all I would like to ask you for your experience with metal corners for delta printers in comparison with the printed ones. Then I would like to ask you if you would have interest in alu metal corners for delta printers for profiles 30x30mm (image of profile in attachment here). I am currently in discussion with one company which could made the corners. It would be definitely chby boylucky - Developers
Prodám delta tiskárnu bez elektroniky, zdroje a hotendu, vlastní konstrukce, nové a nepoužité. Fotky jsou v příloze, rád zašlu další pokud bude mít někdo zájem. Mohu zaslat i zkušební výtisk. Kuhová tisková plocha o průměru 160 mm x výška 150 mm. Výška tiskárny je 520 mm + cívka filamentu. Jsou použity krokové motory od společnosti Microcon. I have successfully tested the RPI3 model B with 2 printers today. Looks ok and the prints on both delta printers are currently running without problems.by boylucky - General
Hello, I would like to ask you about your experiences with Repetier server running on Raspberry Pi 3 model B. Does anybody control multiple printers on one Raspberry Pi ? Currenlty I am using Repetier server on RP 2 and I am happy with it. I control only one printer there for now. Thanks for your answers.by boylucky - General
Yes exactely. The hackday link you provided is very close to my idea. As in the discussion there, it is also mentioned the same princip as in the wheel mouse. That is exactely what I was thinking to build. I would like to make it as simple as possible. What about to build it with following optical sensors and use two of them to also get the direction of filament: Lm393 Beam Photoelectric Sensorby boylucky - Developers
Thanks for your replyes. I agree with you that it is always better to correct problems which lead to the filament clogging rather then using the sensors. Anyway I think that the sensor can help a lot during the time when you try to deal with the filament clogging. In case that it is not an expensive part of the printr I think the user can benefit from it. I would like to make a sensor based on tby boylucky - Developers
Hi, I am thinking to build a simple hotend clogging sensor. My intention is to use it on delta printer but could be used for any other printer design. I would monitor flow of the string of PLA (or any other material) on the extruder. I was thinking to use optocoupler and measure if the string is going through or if it is clogged. In case that clogge whould be detected for some amount of time thanby boylucky - Developers
Thanks for your reply. You are right, there are available parameters to be set in repetier. I am currently going through informations about all those settings to better understand the problematics. Anyway I also decided to try the auto-leveling solution.by boylucky - Printing
Hi, is there any possibility to make manual bed level compensation in Repetier for Delta printer? I do not have auto leveling in place and also do not want to use hardware manual bed leveling. So is it somehow possible to do compensation in Repetier? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.by boylucky - Printing
Thanks for your alternatives you mentioned. The IR sensor looks perfect. Is that design open source? I do not thing so, right? The piezo sensor also looks interesting. I can see that it should be open source which would be great. Anyway I like more the IR sensor. I also have to get more info about FSR wich looks also good. So thanks for all this info. Regarding the method I described above. I meby boylucky - Developers
Hi all, I would like to share my idea about delta printer auto calibration method. I was thinking if there are some other methods for auto calibration of delta printer then the inductive sensor. Would be there a way to also automatically count the difference in the towers angel or some other possible mistakes made during the build phase of delta printers? My idea is to use a ray of light which woby boylucky - Developers
