Hello usman, You can take the belts off the pulleys and check wether the motors are turning or just vibrating. In case of "just vibrating" the motors are underpowered or not fully contacted. In case if "turning", its highly recommended to set them in microstepping mode. Full step settings on belt driven Prusa have enormous vibrations. On my first attempts, all nuts became visible loose by vibraby mbttger - Developers
Might also be, you forgot to set three jumpers located on the ramps, under each stepper driver. In this case the stepper would not be driven in microstepping mode and cause extensive vibration and less or no movement. The problem might also be caused by a contact failure of the motor, when being powered on only one of its two phases. Best regards Martinby mbttger - Developers
Hello I am using these ikea mirrors since about 2 years an never broke one. First i always coated them with 200mm kapton tape (about 95 degree celsius for ABS). That worked fine, but I often damaged the kapton when getting my workpiece off the bed. Actually i use hairspray (Schwarzkopf Haarlack strong) instead of kapton. The ABS sticks very good but needs a bit more heat (112 degrees). When cooliby mbttger - General
Hello, if you only intend to mix the filament and don't need exact rotation angles, there will be no need tu use a stepper motor. For this case i would suggest to use a geared 12V dc motor like controlled via PWM f.e. using something like this . Best regards martinby mbttger - Developers
Yes, thats what I also want to do. May be with a srew about 3mm diameter, the unthreaded part through a piece of teflon tube, the tube threaded and screwed into my peek barrier, fixed with two countered nuts, as long as it reaches the hight where its as cold that the filament can not be weak. Some kind of self sealing bearing.by mbttger - Developers
Hello ekaggrat, yes you are right, there is no active mixing in the hotend. The result are blended colors with more or less "toothpaste effect" this effect depends on nozzle diameter and used colors. With a 0.3 nozzle the effect is minimal. Already have a plan to integrate active mixing, but first I want to finish the purging and prechanging slicer plugin, because the active mixing hotend willby mbttger - Developers
Hi, this ist what I already succeeded in. " (for example change extruder 3cm before change color etc..) " could be done easy. My implementation is in perl and in beta stadium, but could already be called as post processing in slic3r. Actually my challenge is to get the purge area working and fixed to the bed until end of print, because is not shure that the (lets say 5 mm) of unwanted mix color wby mbttger - Developers
I forgot... actually I am driving four extruders whith a setup out of an additional mega2560 and an additional ramps board with smartlcd, manual controlled via smartlcd or from the printer via I2C (using the BlinkM feature of marlin). This setup can manage up to five extruders. My machine is loaded with red, yellow, blue and white or transparent ABS (any experiences with cyan, yellow, magentaby mbttger - Developers
Hello danithebest, very nice milled and drilled part, but where is the heater? Yes, minimizing the melting room seems to be the best approach but there are several others that can be helpfull. - pre-changing the filament (even before the new color has to reach the nozzle output - using the invisible infill areas for deposition of unwanted material mixes and may be a lot of other good ideas.by mbttger - Developers
Hello all, thank your paucus for the tip on monolith, I'll inspect it on usability for my purposes. I did already create a working plugin for gcode post-generation, creating a special prime zone for unwanted mix colors and configurable pre-change of the extruder (because of the latency between changing the extruder and having the new color on the working part). At the moment it is working, butby mbttger - Developers
During the last months, I worked on several approaches for multicolor printing hardware. Actually i succeeded in extruding four filaments out of one nozzle, blending then to new colors and control them via g-code ( using the BlinkM addin of marlin and a second arduino for extruder management). Now I am the the point to look for the right slicing software. Most of the well known products do only sby mbttger - Developers
