No, .1mm is less acurate than a Mendel running Ramps with 1.8 degree steppers. And that cost is 5 times higher than a Prusa and twice that of a Rapman/ToM. I am sure someone would buy it, but it's that that different of a product form a Shapercube.by spacexula - General

The Makergear products are a very established and trusted design. There is nothing wrong with the design of the v5/v6 as far as I have heard. I would got with Makergear just because I have now owned and used 6 different MG hot ends and never had a failure do to their designs.by spacexula - Reprappers
As a person who has now Ran a Darwin, Mendel, Prusa, Huxley, and an Up! I can assure you that the reason that an Up! prints better than a Prusa is not lack of structural Rigidity. It's an issue of quality of plastic, active cooling by a fan, and 90%+ software. The skeining engine/electornics of the Up! is just a bit higher quality. Enrique has done an AMAZING job on Skeinforge, but Up! is a biby spacexula - General
"Rigidity of frame" is not a huge issue for RepRap because we are not a mill. If your exerting enough forces to cause slop on your XYZ, you have your settings jacked up, or you didn't use lock tight/good torque on your bolts. That said, I think have seen items come off the Prusa and Thing-o-matic that are pretty dang close to Up! build quality. The difference in quality between an up! and propby spacexula - General

Fablocker Hackerspace is now up and fully operational. We have 1 Makerbot and 2 Mendel at this time, will be expanding as fast as possible. If your local or within driving distance your welcome to come by and see a machine operating, or to get help with your reprap machine. We will be selling RepRap parts to locals for much cheaper than the going internet prices to help the local community, asby spacexula - North Carolina RepRap User Group

If your in the US I suggest you go with 5/16 tool rod from fastenal. They keep it in stock, and it's plenty strong smooth and straight.by spacexula - General
I would not personally suggest it, but both corn starch and window caulk are both generally non toxic.by spacexula - General
I have built multiple of both the sells and prusa mendel. Prusa Mendel prints at a higher quality just because it's many times easier to calibrate. True quality is mostly a fuction of software, and Sells/Prusa use the same software. Go with the Prusa, you will not regret it.by spacexula - General

.35 is the sweet spot, most folk I know use .35 Any smaller surface tension starts destroying your ability to bridge, and larger you loose build quality.by spacexula - General

If you print something big it's going to have a lot of plastic in it. hello 50 dollar print -If you want fine detail you ened a small nozzle. large prints with a small nozzle might have a 2-3 day print time. -Also if your printing larger by it's very nature the carrages are going to be heavier, byebye cheap nema 17 helloby spacexula - Reprappers
