You may have seen a bow in a particular aluminium frame but theres quiet a few alu single frames out there and prob more, which haven't been wrote or blogged about. Any material can get a bow in depends on the quality of supplier and there tolerances. I gone for the single aluminium frame myself theres richards which is on google+ the same frame as mine hes prob 90% complete on his build, theresby chris33 - General
Its about safeguarding the community, from such incidents as this one, and protecting real developers getting there kickstart projects off, because when you get too many of these incidents you will find kickstarter will probably scrutinize everybody projects and turn them down making it harder to get one off the ground, I personally wouldn't of gone down their approch I would devolped the machineby chris33 - General

Just a note japica is a name already out there, which isn't related too the so called printers so claiming it was made from his cousins initials is a false claim japica ( Japan Pilates Coach Association ) also theres a place in Slovenia too list goes on lolby chris33 - General
Ive pulled the files from the git hub for single plateby chris33 - Wanted
i sussed it i think this script gave me what i wanted to achieve module nema17_holes() { union(){ cube ([42.2,10,42.2]); translate ([5.58,1,5.58])rotate ([90,0,0])cylinder ( r=1.6, h=12, $fn=30); translate ([36.42,1,5.58])rotate ([90,0,0])cylinder ( r=1.6, h=12, $fn=30); translate ([36.42,1,36.42])rotate ([90,0,0])cylinder ( r=1.6, h=12, $fn=30); translate ([5.58,1,36.42])rotate ([90,0,0])cyliby chris33 - General
teaching myself this so please excuse the dumbness can anyone look at the following script module nema17_holes() { union(){ cube ([42.2,10,42.2]); translate ([5.58,0,5.58])rotate ([90,0,0])cylinder ( r=1.6, h=5, $fn=30); translate ([36.42,0,5.58])rotate ([90,0,0])cylinder ( r=1.6, h=5, $fn=30); translate ([36.42,0,36.42])rotate ([90,0,0])cylinder ( r=1.6, h=5, $fn=30); translate ([5.58,0,36.42])by chris33 - General

I really can see nop head mendal 90 having the braces for the axis to be perpendicular, but cant why a single sheet version of the i3 out of 6mm aluminium be any less rigid then the one you made I can understand if it was made out of wood the braces stop the flex of the material. And my opinion thought the idea of reprap to make it cheaply as possible and to be able to print parts for another macby chris33 - General Mendel Topics

Well I can get i3 frames the single plate done for £60, I have quotes higher for acrylic I be honest I havnt looked into dibond but can't find a supplier in uk for atleast 6mm thickness. I know you could use thinner material and use the frame with braces I suppose but thats more cost due to more profiles cutby chris33 - General Mendel Topics
Has anyone built a cnc with tool change option at home position, what im getting at for instance im cutting a frame out using a cutting drill bit then it would go to home drop the cutting drill bit then pick up another size drill bit too drill holes or would it be simpler just too cut the frame for instance I want 2.2mm holes so I would just just the same drill bit for the cutting. Basically I waby chris33 - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
Right update I have changed the holes took some of the holes out of the frame they should be 2.5mm ready to be tapped to 3mm anyone intrested to get 1 they £60 p&p inc only in the uk I need too order 2 at a time and the lead time is 7 to 10 days, maybe get the price down on larger quantities ordered if any hackspace is after just pm me as I haven't got the capital too purchase stock, soon asby chris33 - Vitamin Kit for Sale

it was a thread i found a while ago basically the centre of gravity of the weight of the motor travels past the x limit which shows up in the print, obviously it more and likely sorted by slowing the x but i want a a quick speed without having the the motors centre of gravity move past the limitby chris33 - General
well you would be rather stupid to buy it when just a google search and you can find the plans for free,by chris33 - General
i gather u have i3 so what extruder are you using im aware of a sought of ghosting affect on prints having a heavy motor at speed causing the centre of gravity moves moves, i thought of bowdens but then worry about retraction problems, but now looking for a very small stepper motor like the one in the picture on the wiki with the artist manikinby chris33 - General
The bottom image shows someone elses build but i have the same frame, im sourcing my parts and only starting the build once i have every part so i can take notes and write out a standard operating procedure on building it. I decided to do it this way so i can research more on what problems people are having, so i can make adjustments before the build. As you see how close the bed is to the frameby chris33 - General
There is so many variations where to start, I am starting the single aluminium using the the file on the github i wanted to make it from scratch apart from the frame, so depends on which path you takeby chris33 - General Mendel Topics
what old printers would i find nema 17s in. im a carbooter searcher and it be nice too have a idea what too look out forby chris33 - General New Machines Topics

Is it possible to make a in total length would be 12mm, diameter 5mm one end 6mm length m4 threaded and the other end m3 tapped hole made out of brass ill price up material, im going ask at work first but very doubt theyll make me fourby chris33 - Devon RepRap User Group
