lead screw - 11 years ago
hi im looking for a 5mm diameter lead screw and nut where may i find one, as i think changing the 5mm threaded rod for the z drives to lead screw will be better for calibration calculations so if any one can point to a ebay seller or a uk seller that would be brill silly question too if the specs says the lead of the screw is 0.50mm, does that mean thats the travel 0.50mm after 1 full turn?by chris33 - General

just a thought i put this in here due to the stepper on the extruder i want to be able to change the rolls what the wire does im no good with electronics but for instance say i wanted to do some light engraving i could take my print head of and swap it for a small rotary tool well a stripped down rotary tool in a modified head to make it interchangeable for instance like a laptop battery for examby chris33 - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors

i've decided now i've paid and waiting on frame and parts im going to concentrate on the rest of the mechanical stuff like bearings smooth rod and threaded rod first, then ill be able to make the measurement myself and make sure and break it down in to three phases mechanical build electronic build and calibration,instead of having everything in front of you and spending 24 hrs straight buildingby chris33 - General

well i look at the pic on the wiki zoomed in and they size 48 so hopefully if i get that size they'll fitby chris33 - General

on interscape i drew a line from centre of the motor mount plastic to the bottom of the frame and it roughly measured 40mm i really need to know the size as i by wrong size then they wont fit cheersby chris33 - General

Yeah its all mashed up on the wiki abit and github for i3 but I like the possibility of easy access to the x carriage for the purpose of my development im nervous about the frames im getting cut as before xmas the was a jo-final branch but not there now and I gave the company the file he picked up on the prusa lettering at top wasnt going to be block lettering as shown on the wiki pic got it chaby chris33 - General

ok im after a set of these prusa i3 single frame as cheaply as possible in abs. the link to github is parts scad files tried ebay but they only sell the box frame ones and the others or for the improved twelvepro also uk only save on shipping costs cheersby chris33 - Wanted

i can get hold of them but come in pairs in aluminium cost 50 quid to cut 10 quid to send in uk but the minimum order is 100 quid hence ive offered the spare to richard if hes happy with the pictures ill post pics on when i get them don ( the guy said 4 days on thursday so should be ready wednesday too collect, if theres a couple of you who want one them get intouch the more people who can get aby chris33 - General Mendel Topics

Bought my first item today I paid for the cut frame for the prusa i3 had to change the lettering on top instead of it saying prusa it says I3 as it was easy solution to do as the one on the github isnt correct to the example picture on the wiki. Im pricing up the rest first stage is frame all the axis and motors. My frames should be done by Wednesday and tapped out by nxt fri at work(funny how iby chris33 - General

Just a question about the bot if I made the frame shorter so the bed stays static and just have the head move up and down instead my aim to make a milling machine im after a maxium bed size figure out a way to cut 6mm material maybe heading too high to wish for a bot like yours by changing the axis from the bed to to the head would cope in milling 6mm aluminium but could do plastics and wood anyby chris33 - Developers
