I have recently started to work with makergeeks.com as they have a huge selection of Filiments. Laywood, laybrick, pva, pla, abs, nylon and glow in the dark. They have competitive prices as well as conductive filiment that you can use to build circuits. They respond quickly to emails. Also Printrbot has recently expanded their filiment stocks.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
Are you trying to run a smaller cnc setup with ramps? Im not sure what your goal is.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
From what I know there are some structural differences. The Mendel uses almost entirely 5/16ths or 8mm rod to make up the main structure where the prusa i2 uses typically 8mm rod for the base and acrylic, dibond, aluminum or sometimes wood for the main structure. Ive always been a fan personally with the prusa design but the Mendel is very common and has a huge following. Have you checked out thby REPRAP SQUAD - General
The best advice can give you is to do your research before buying. If your buying a kit or pre assembled definitely check out how well customer service etc is. I would also recommend to buy a reprap with a large user group which will help with troubleshooting and calibration. I would also check out people's blogs. A lot of users on here have them and they can be a wealth of knowledge. My blog pby REPRAP SQUAD - General
Im working on the Printrbot dual direct drive extruder beta release. There is 10 of them being released in the wild. Im interested in this and looks like a great little project. If you would like to see the build log and how we do it feel free to check out my WordPress site linked below. I will be updating it regularly, keep up the good work.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
I too have a qu-bd 24v heater with ramps. I havnt setup my ramps or hb yet. Ive planned on using a SSR with a 24volt 16amp psu. I am using a 16.5 amp xbox psu to run the rest of my setup. If anyone has furtyer knowledge of this build it would be gr8 to know as I am new to ramps.by REPRAP SQUAD - Reprappers
I found out that this is just one of many different sellers that Geee Tech uses. They sell a bunch of new parts through different names. So far I sent them pics explaining all the issues and they are resending my 3 missing endstops and header pins. They are also going to send 3 new drivers and a new ramps board as mine were heavily damaged. I will update when I recieve my replacement parts.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
I figured I would give an update to maybe answer someone elses ramps questions. The ramps board was suppose to come with extra headers or pins so you could solder them on if needed. Some kits come with pins already soldered and some dont.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
Im kinda confused by your wording. Im going to buy the pins for the board and solder them in. Apparently the seller was supposed to furnish these and did not. He will be sending me a new ramps board anyway because it has bridging in the solder of the 5amp and 11amp fuses.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
Would something like this work. what should I look for. I already have the sd card but I figured it would be easier if it was all in one and im not a big fan of having to solder on little tabs. I want to be able to print stand alone. Can I do that with just the sd card?by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
Reprap0913 on ebay. Hes a newer seller with like 30 or so sales. We will see what he says in response. He currently has like 10-20 controllers on auction.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
I emailed him explaining all the issues so we will se what he says.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
So what you are saying is that it should not be bridged but might be ok. If its not supposed to be that way then I am going to ask for a refund. They also forgot to send me my endstops and I had some bent pins or headers. They didn't put any packing material in the box either. They only put them in anti static bags . What would you do as I dont deal with this much.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
I attached a photo of the ramps 1.4 board I just bought. The soldering on the top covers both of the fuse leads on top of the board. Is this normal or will this cause major issues or fire? Please help as lots of people have ramps and can tell me if this is normal.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
How long did it take for seller to respond to your emails. I have some missing parts in my kit and some bent pins as well. I just wanted to know how long I should wait before sending an email again or taking action for a refund.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
After looking at pictures I see them with and without pins. So if anybody can shed some light on the situation it would be appreciated.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
I just receivedmy ramps kit and it has no headers or pins where the sd card and lcd plug in. Is this normal do I have to buy headers or pins to go on there and solder myself. Or did I get an un finished ramps board. It is supposed to be complete and it says ultimaker 1.4 on the board and it is red in color.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
We are building a setup with 3 ubis style hot ends in a circular formation that will not use up much space instead of the side by side way of mounting. The hotends are custom made and dont take up much space. We have also been playing around with using 3 coldends feed essentially through one hotend for color mixing. The advantage of having 3 seperate hotends is being able to print support materiaby REPRAP SQUAD - General
I have recently found kevlar chains similiar in design to a bike chain. It would be interesting to adapt it. Im also finding lots of different profiles of belts. Some testing with different setups would be interesting.by REPRAP SQUAD - Developers
I just ordered a RAMPS 1.4 setup with SD card but im not sure the best route to go with it as ive used a printrboard clone in the past. Why hasnt anyone used the nokia display as an add on screen for the ramps display. It uses 8 pins which is required by ramps. It can be had for about 4$ on ebay. Are there any other lcd dsplay options?by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics
I just bought a complete iduino kit which is the same as the one on amazon for $140 but i got mine shipped for $70. so i will update once i get my kit. the only parts that are iduino is the mega and the sd card. both have had clones made of them for a long time and should be fine. it would be nice to hear from someone who has one though.by REPRAP SQUAD - RAMPS Electronics

Ya Its not in production yet but i wish it was. Ive had several designs that are similiar to both of these. I talked with Brook Drumm recently and found out that the Printrbot GO is discontuinued only due to re-structure and major upgrades. One of them might be a triple bowden extruder. Its a great platform and just needs a few things changed as well as a little updating. After I finish my PB Pluby REPRAP SQUAD - General

A cheap control option is the L298n chip. You can find them complete on a board ready to use for about 2-3 $ per axis. If I remember you would need an arduino uno to control them. There is a guy that built a printrbot and used them as his controllers. I would look into it.by REPRAP SQUAD - General
