I just discovered this thread too... I am Sque from hackerspace in Herakleion "To LABaki", and we are making also our first steps on reprap. Sure it would be the best, to print each others the plastics! However I noticed (at least at hsgr) that the quality depends a lot on the printer. Makerbot did not produce so delicate results.
