I recently got a Prusa i3 A8 Here is a link if you need a reference: http://www.gearbest.com/3d-printers-3d-printer-kits/pp_337314.html I'm having a few problems. I have the Cura software and Windows 10. I can't get the USB to work on it. The printer will not show up. I didn't spend much time on trying to figure it out as I just wanted to get a test print and used the SD card instead. The seconby bobbintb - Prusa i3 and variants
just realized those links are the same. i meant this as the other one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-x-100K-OHM-NTC-Thermistor-5mm-FREE-SHIPPING-/280826626432?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4162924180 they are both 100k ntc but the price difference is huge. and what is a rice grain one?by bobbintb - General
thought this was interesting and this was probably the best place to post it. http://news.yahoo.com/3d-printing-center-aims-boost-us-manufacturing-201149938.htmlby bobbintb - General
so, does it matter what kind i get as long as it is 100k NTC? for instance, why is this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/100K-High-Stability-NTC-Thermistor-1-25mm-RepRap-Prusa-Mendel-Bed-and-Hot-End-/120977638662?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2ad44506 so much more expensive than this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/100K-High-Stability-NTC-Thermistor-1-25mm-RepRap-Prusa-Mendel-Bed-and-Hot-End-by bobbintb - General
has anyone had any luck sourcing motors locally? ive been looking for motors online but most of them are pricey. i was thinking about looking for them locally but not even sure about where to start. maybe industrial electrical supply places but i dont know. anyone have any thoughts or opinions on the matter?by bobbintb - Idaho RUG
well if anyone is still willing to print them for me at cost let me know. i live in pocatello but i do have someone in the boise area that can pick them up for me before may 5th. pm me and we can sort out the details.by bobbintb - Idaho RUG
my big issue is that any time i find a decent price for a motor, that shipping costs more than the motor. $50 or more for shipping is ridiculous.by bobbintb - New Zealand RepRap User Group
bmsweb Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Its he also sell parts > on ebay thanks. i havent used it yet but the main reasons im going for it is cost and ease of use. its cheaper than most ive seen and its an all-in-one board. ive also read that its more reliable, due to integrated drivers.by bobbintb - Australia, Melbourne RUG
well ive never built a 3d printer so the only issue was that there was a bit of assumption that one knew what else to print in addition to the printrbot parts. on the thingiverse page for the printrbot it has a list of other printed parts that are needed and that was what was throwing me off but i understand it now. i actually have family in boise are that will be coming down in about three weeksby bobbintb - Idaho RUG
im trying to print parts for the printrbot. it took a while to locate some of extruder parts but i think i got the right ones. i attached them if you want to look. im going to try and get them done locally at the university as i very seldom get up to boise.by bobbintb - Idaho RUG
bmsweb Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Its he also sell parts > on ebay oh, thats what i thought. i know the electronics are pretty cheap but im trying to find a bare pcb to make them even cheaper. no luck yet. whats his ebay handle?by bobbintb - Australia, Melbourne RUG

im actually in the pocatello area but i do go to boise every couple months or so. if i cant find someone closer (maybe i can print them at the university) maybe i can hit you up before i go there next, whenever that will be. what area are you from, TheCase?by bobbintb - Idaho RUG
anyone willing or know of anyone willing to print parts at cost, preferably locally (idaho)?by bobbintb - Idaho RUG
Well, I'm not sure what steps you took but hopefully this helps: http://reprap.org/wiki/Printrboard I've never made one but this was updated just the other day.by bobbintb - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
hmmm. elderfarrer2hy7 lives just a few towns over from me. that might be a great source for cheap parts.by bobbintb - Australia, Melbourne RUG
Bobbitay, no, I do not have one running yet. I have just been so busy lately. Right now I am just collecting as many parts as I can to build one. I want to learn as much as I can so I am avoiding buying anything and trying to make or source most of it. I am looking at making a printrbot as it ssems to be very popular right now as well as a cheaper, simpler design. I work at the University here inby bobbintb - Idaho RUG
I would also be interested in connecting with people. I'm in Pocatello, but Idaho Falls is probably as close as I can get.by bobbintb - Idaho RUG
