Well, in this case I would be using MACH3 by artsoft. Will this work or what would you recommend?by Jojo - Slic3r
Can slic3r be used for a arm type printer like the link below? If so can someone show be were to find or setup the g-code flavor? Thanksby Jojo - Slic3r
Just clarifying... In slic3r the correct flavor of gcode for the original monotronics is makerbot correct? Or is it reprap? Thanksby Jojo - Huxley
Can you link/show me the hack or script u are using? Maybe can try it and make some adjustments... also can I see your firmware extruder final settings? I would like to compare them with what I have and possible calculate the steps for the wades extruder gear vs the bigger tz gear. Thanksby Jojo - Huxley
Life saver! Thanks I found some k type in the states and ordered it. Will post results and supplier after testing. It was 99 cents a foot but costed me 3 dollars to ship.by Jojo - Huxley
My thermocouple grounded out and broke today during testing.... is there an alternative one I can purchase somewhere? Thanks guysby Jojo - Huxley
Yes, Deuvis and Dissidence along with others have helped me greatly in troubleshooting. I have recently got a chance to get back to working on this because I was so frustrated with the machine i put it a way otherwise it would be in a million pieces. Its been a long 2 years fiddling with this kit, the first year trying to get all of the screws and pieces that were missing and then trying to fit iby Jojo - Huxley
Yes I am using the original monolithic board with the last installment of the firmware. I think my firmware feed rates are not correct at all and I have now given up on the kulitorium repsnapper and have used printrun as my host. I am trying to use skeinforge 50 to produce code but not luck yet, the code isnt right. Slicer errors out alot and the extruder does not like the code either but ifby Jojo - Huxley
Ok, I finally got the machine to print but now i have issues if anyone can help. I am using the kulitorium final release of repsnapper with the lua tab. When I load a stl file and produce code it generates fine. I run it and it runs the paths correctly but the filament feed isnt correct. Are there certain setting in the software that needs changed? Or can I use slicer? I also tried loadingby Jojo - Huxley
Hey guys, I have still not had the chance to test the settings and the firmware. I just had to make a lot of major changes to the machine due to the poor quality in the parts that were provided. A lot of things fell apart and separated from the print lines but I just ordered some t5 gears from ebay that were decently priced and just got done making the necessary modifications to get them to fit cby Jojo - Huxley
This is probably a noob question but how do u use github? It is not letting me see or download the sprinter firmware.by Jojo - Huxley
The plastic gears broke from their print lines. I just ordered another set of t5 gears... to be continued i guess. Man the motivation levels are dropping again....by Jojo - Huxley
Is the sprinter firmware better? Can you by chance link me your version of repsnapper? I would ljust like to get it to print anything at this point lol.by Jojo - Huxley
Thanks I will try this tomorrow and post my results.by Jojo - Huxley
Decided to finally start a new thread. I there is a wiki on how to tune the firmware or anything at all please let me know. I finally got everything in working order, i believe, now my problems are: 1. Servos movements are way off. I believe it needs firmware tuning and a set of calipers to measure distance but dont know where to start. 2. Optos for x and y do not seem to be working. I have moby Jojo - Huxley
i am currently using the r351 Kulitorum repsnapper is this a problem? Can someone give me a one on one into setting the firmware or software to understand the distances and optos? Thanksby Jojo - Huxley
Cool. Downloaded it and got the servos to move and it stopped overheating too... now my problem is how do i tune the extruder, x,y, and z? the movements are way off. Also the endstops in x an y dont seem to work but I may be testing it wrong. When i test them i home them individually and used of piece of paper to break the connection. Only z stops when i break the connection during home but the oby Jojo - Huxley
DeuxVis: Yup that is where I downloaded the one I am currently running. I just noticed both links to the repsnapper old are to the same file. I have been reading and found that the latest working version is the r.351 but I cant find that one available to download anywhere. Will the newer hosts work? The firmware is so out dated is it not? I am open in any/all suggestions at this point. lol. It isby Jojo - Huxley
I see. Are there any other alternative options for windows host software and firmware for this board? It seems it is obsolete and with older servo drivers as well. I just want to make the most of my investment and am trying not to feel ripped off cause of the company going under with no support. If I could just get it to print I would be very happy. Where can I get the version you were using? I dby Jojo - Huxley
i am open to anything that works with this monotronics chipset. I thought repsnapperwas the only thing that was compatible. thanksby Jojo - Huxley
K I finally got time to look at the old repsnapper program. Under the print tab the only tabs to click are connect to printer, power on, kick, pause, and print. I did not see an option for movements... maybe I have the wrong version? In the simple tab, on the bottom, it says version unknown.by Jojo - Huxley
cool i will try it later this evening and let you know the results. I am crossing my fingers.by Jojo - Huxley
Will do, I will play with it some more and start another topic once i get some other issues figured out, Thanksby Jojo - Huxley
Hey thanks for the prompt response. I plug the board in and check the pots one more time to see if the temp is overbearing. How do u manually jog in repsnapper (old) ? I cant seem to figure it out it always wants a stl loaded and convert to g code.( Which the old repsnapper has huge issues with its gcode conversions) I guess how do i go about testing each axis manually? The endstops work fineby Jojo - Huxley
Ketil, Thanks for replying. I have everything put together and hooked up correctly if not better than what was pictures. I replaced all of the friction bearings with ball bearings and I trimmed and sanded everything until it was smooth and level so the skeleton/frame is in full working order. I then wired all the servos, optos/endstops, and wired the monotronics exactly as decribed in the monotrby Jojo - Huxley
Hello guys Can someone help me get this to work? I also bought one of these a while back and finally put it together in time just to find out that they went out of business,,, FML. I have it all together and hooked up but it doesnt move right and the extruder does not extrude. I believe the electronics are fine although the x axis gets hot after a while but the pot switch works... might just notby Jojo - Huxley
Hi I was wondering if u can help me as well I also bought a huxley and cant get it to do anything... i have updated the firmware and did almost all of what you had listed but it just does not drive correctly nor does the extruder extrudes... i am using the old repsnapper.. I would really appreciate any help... im stressing outby Jojo - Huxley
I recently got a huxley form techzone and am really excited to get into prototyping... missing a lot of nuts here and there but they are sending them to me soon. I am sending out the gears and some of the other parts to get casted into aluminum so the machine is more precise... was wondering if anyone is interested in this...by Jojo - General
