Did you have any documentation/wiring guide? Also is there a thermistor/hotend that you recommend? Third edit: Does it come with a power supply?by Atomhax - For Sale
I was considering Does anyone have any experience with this set of electronics?by Atomhax - Huxley
Deuxvis, I actually came here just now to ask that. Can I still use the Nichrome heat wire? What are you using? I know you've done extensive work on your huxley. TraumFlug, this is what I suspected, thank you for the confirmation.by Atomhax - Huxley
DeuxVis I am also following your progress. I've followed your posts on this forum for a while now. You pretty much made the techzone usable.by Atomhax - Huxley
What type of huxley do you have? Whats electronics/version are you using? What control software are you using (reprap host or replicatorg etc.)by Atomhax - Huxley
An apology if this has been asked before. I used the search bar to no avail. I have the techzone huxley. I think the electronics they originally sent me are not functioning any longer. I went to techzone's site to buy another set but I think they are out of business because their site is down. Are there any other compatible electronics that I can use as a replacement? I was considering buyingby Atomhax - Huxley
Update: There is something wrong with the POT. I was measuring the amps on my multimeter. Every other motor is at around .4-.5 amps. The Y port that I've always been having issues with is at like 1.6 amps. If I try and adjust it, it goes down to 0.2 or back up to 1.6, there's not middle ground. I even brought in my wife, she has delicate hands, and no amount of precise adjusting would fix the issby Atomhax - Huxley
I'll give it a shot tonight. I'll be sure to post whatever happens for future people. I think you're on to something.by Atomhax - Huxley
Ok, so I can move all the motors by hand without issue. I assume it's an issue with the electronics. As a last ditch effort, should/could I pass over the driver chips with my heat gun, maybe the connections are bad?by Atomhax - Huxley
When you say manually move the motor do you mean with my hand, while it's on? Because, I cannot move any of them with my hand when it's on, it's to strong. However, I can control all the motors using rep-snapper or replicatorgby Atomhax - Huxley
This may sound short sighted and newbish, But if it is the connections of the driver chip, (assuming a bad connection) might I be able to use my heat gun to re-seat the chip? Honestly, what do I have to lose? I'm assuming I may just need to order new electronics from them anyway. X and Z work great, Just that pesky Y is over-heating.by Atomhax - Huxley
@DeuxVis So I guess it took me a little while to "get off of work". I moved places so my rep-rap was sitting idle for a while. I had taken it apart so I was reassembling the axis. I tried switching the X and Y motors. It has the same problem, just now on the other motor. Whichever motor is hooked up to the Y axis port on the board, overheats in about 3 minutes. @raldrich Since it had been idleby Atomhax - Huxley
Thanks for the quick response. OK, These are all Great Ideas. Most of the time all I've been able to print are blobs because of this issue. I kinda lost hope in my printer after that. Now that this semester is over I had new found energy to devote to getting nice looking prints. It hadn't occurred to me that the chip on the board may be the issue. I'm going to check this out as soon as I get ofby Atomhax - Huxley
The Y axis on my tech zone Huxley runs Hot. Like SUPER hot. Like as in... it starts to warp the gear and it starts to slide on the motor instead of turning with it. I followed the guide on their wiki for setting the variable pots however when I was adjusting it it either runs too hot or doesn't run at all. I updated the firmware and that helped a bit. It helped by allowing me to run my printer foby Atomhax - Huxley
Quotemccoyn I believe the fix is to press the reset button as soon as the Arduino software shows the "Binary sketch size" message WOW thanks, Worked for me. Thanks Mccoyn edit: I realize this is a 2 year old post but I thought I should let anyone else who had this problem know.by Atomhax - Controllers
Ok so that totally wasn't it. What happens now is the end stop functions fine. but now when I start a print the motor heads in the wrong direction when it goes to home. If I were to put the end stops on the opposite site towards the wrong direction. it would have the same broken behavior as before. I followed up with techzone support as well and we'll see what they say.by Atomhax - RepSnapper
OK so the end stops are working Properly. Thanks for helping. I guess the picture on the Wiki I used had it wired differently.by Atomhax - RepSnapper
I also had similar issues with techzonecommunications. Shipping took over 20 days. This However they did control. They failed to tell me that they didn't ship it for 14days after the 3 days they had promised. They gave me no warning... they just took forever to ship it. When I decided to email them Their excuse was "we're working on some new firmware", this was in august.... the latest firmwarby Atomhax - General
Oh... I'm at work now but I think that's probably it. What was happening was in repsnapper when I would manually tell the Z to go up, it would go down. I just assumed the software was screwy. I'm the screwy one. I'll report on it in a bit. Thanks for the quick reply.by Atomhax - RepSnapper
I've tried this using windows 7 64 bit and 7 32bit.by Atomhax - RepSnapper
Hello, I ordered a Techzone Huxley with "techzone" modified gen 3 electronics. I've searched the internet but I haven't been able to find the solution (which I'm sure is simple). I put the Reprap Huxley together After I got everything hooked up when I was moving the axis in manual mode using repsnapper the axis wont stop once they get to the endstops. They will continue in the direction furtheby Atomhax - RepSnapper
