Hi, (I posted this in the firmware forum but haven't had any replies so I thought this might be a more appropriate audience) I just upgraded my Repetier firmware to 0.92. My hot end temperature reading is zero. I suspect this may be because I have my own thermistor table (from my previous configuration.h, so I know it works ok) but I have failed to correctly inform the firmware to use that tabby Flackster - Repetier

I suspect this may be because I have my own thermistor table (from my previous configuration.h, so I know it works ok) but I have failed to correctly inform the firmware to use that table. Ah! - "Toggle Log" I was just being thick Many Thanks Peteby Flackster - Repetier
Hi, Apologies if I'm being thick here. I can't see the debug options window on the Repetier Host control screen (i.e. the window where I get to see 'Send' 'Info', 'Echo, etc' type information that I turn on or off at the bottom of the RHS control panel). I can turn the different options on or off but can't see any resulting output. I haven't got Easy mode switched on. I've tried to drag the winby Flackster - Repetier
Hi, I'm having trouble with my Guidler prints. They (seem to) print OK but the hinge has been breaking (cracking) when I tighten the top nuts. I'm printing with PLA. Can I have some votes for what infill percentage people use please? (or any other thoughts on the problem Thanks Peteby Flackster - Printing
Hi, My extruder is running backwards. For now I've fixed this by entering a negative value for my E steps per mm but this seems to cause other minor problems (after a print extruder won't extrude since it thinks the amount of filament extruded is wrong?) I know I can swap two of the motor wires to fix it but I'd rather do it in firmware. Is there a switch in Repetier firmware that does that forby Flackster - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hi, I'm having trouble with stepper motor skipping and have exhausted my list of 'what to do about it'. So, I'm looking for any ideas I'm printing a long thin plate (100mm by 30mm - 5mm high) - if I print it long on x-axis then I get layer shift on every layer (x-axis shift only) . However, if I print it long on the y-axis it's perfect (i.e. no layer shift on x or y-axis). So, I believe my prinby Flackster - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Hi, Your advice sorted the problem (though not quite as I'd hope). I was checking voltage as you say (v helpful) but still couldn't work out reason for discrepancies. Err.....then realised I had it running only on USB power, so there was no umph to heat the resister. So, all sorted now. Thanks for help Peteby Flackster - Controllers
Hi, I have a RUMBA board (using Repetier firmware and client). The heating resister is not heating up. It used to work OK but something (don’t know what) went horribly wrong and it overheated & blow the T0 Thermistor connections (so they no longer acknowledged when a thermistor was been connected). I solved that by changing pins.h to use the T1 thermistor connections. The thermistor readingby Flackster - Controllers
Hi, I got this to work in the end. I needed to change the *16 multiplier in the first value to 4, and add in a *8 multiplier for the second value. It was the fact I originally had a multiplication factor of 16 for the first value (but no multiplier for the second value) combined with the comment "If you have a sprinter temperature table, you have to multiply the first value with 4 and the secoby Flackster - Repetier
Hi, I tried a 100K thermister & had same problem. I'm thinking I may have something else set in the firmware that causes problems. Could you post/email me a working example of firmware (Marlin or Repetier - but have the same problem). Keep getting that MINTEMP has been triggered. Everything checks out fine on my Gen6 (marlin) board so I'm assuming this is RAMPS1.4 specific. Also, I have noby Flackster - Repetier
Hi, This is me replying to the earlier queries about whether I got my motors moving. I did but by pure luck. I swapped in a new board and forgot to connect up the T0 thermistor sensor (that comes from the hot end). When I did that I was able to upload the test software and move motors using Repetier. It was only when I spotted my thermistor was not connected that I found this was my problem. Mby Flackster - RAMPS Electronics
Thanks for that. Tried it and had variable results. I eventually swapped my Arduino Mega 2560 board for a Arduino ATMega 1280. Using the same thermistor table as above (multipliers of 16 & 1 respectively) I get the correct temperature (at room temp) but when I heat the extruder it stays steady (19.96 degrees C). However, I can the extruder is clearly heating up So, they I tried your suggestby Flackster - Repetier
Hi, I'm in the process of trying to move from Marlin firmware to Repetier firmware. Things are looking OK but I have a problem with my user defined thermistor table. I have a Thermistor NTC-100KOhm from German Reprap Foundation // (https://shop.grrf.de/thermistor-ntc100kohm-p-310.html?zenid=6e2bfbd4439d9009360d547ef2f37e81) with the following values describing it's characteristics // r0: 10000by Flackster - Repetier
And if I read the wiki properly, I can answer my own question.... I renamed the file to TestRamps.pde and it loads, compiles & uploads just fine. Sadly, it shows none of my motors are working now. So,........some work to do there Peteby Flackster - RAMPS Electronics
OK, Thanks for that. Sadly, When I tried to load it but get errors (in Arduino 1.0and 0.22) This is what I get when I try to load it up: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0 at processing.app.Sketch.setCurrentCode(Sketch.java:1106) at processing.app.Sketch.load(Sketch.java:218) at processing.app.Sketch.(Sketch.java:140) at processing.app.Editor.by Flackster - RAMPS Electronics
Quick (and likely stupid question), What do I do with the test code once I have it? I assume I load the .pde file into Audino. Then upload it to the board. But what then? Will it wiggle my motors as soon as I upload it? Or do I need to trigger the test software somehow? Cheers Peteby Flackster - RAMPS Electronics

Excellent - That's sorted it Thanks Peteby Flackster - Skeinforge
Hi, I suspect I'm doing something stupid but can't work out what. When I use Skeinforge to produce my Gcode it seems fine except there are no E 'movements'. So nothing is extruded. Everything else (e.g. X, Y & Z moves) looks OK. Here's the start of the Gcode file that is produced: G21 G90 G92 X25 Y0 @isathome M113 S1.0 M108 S50.0 G1 X-12.52 Y10.404 Z0.2 F3000.0 M101 G1 X-10.404 Y12.52 Z0.by Flackster - Skeinforge
Hi, After looking a various options I'm planning to make a Mendel Prism 1.5. I've already built a Sells Mendel. I'd like to build it with a larger print area using 500mm extrusions. However, I'm unsure of the knock-on effects to other components. Here's the one's I've identified: - Smooth rods - These now need to be 10mm not 8mm but what are the new X, Y & Z lengths? - The BOM says I needby Flackster - General Mendel Topics
Hi, I'd like to use the auto PID temperature setting, as described here: . I've copied the relevant text below: AutoTemp: If your gcode contains a wide spread of extruder velocities, or you realtime change the building speed, the temperature should be changed accordingly. Usually, higher speed requires higher temperature. This can now be performed by the AutoTemp function By calling M109 S T Fby Flackster - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Nophead, You're a star! Yes I'm sure that's it - I'll set the MAX_PIN values in pin.h to -1 and try tonight Thanks Peteby Flackster - RAMPS Electronics
Hi, I have a working Mendel Sells printer using Gen6 and Marlin. I'm currently trying to build a Prusa Mendel using RAMPS 1.4 (& Marlin) I have some odd behaviour that I hope someone can shed light on. In configuration.h there is a flag ENDSTOPS_ONLY_FOR_HOMING (// If defined the endstops will only be used for homing). I don't want my endstops only to trigger during Homing. Hi, I'm putting my Pololu Stepper Drivers to my RAMPS electronics. My kit came with double sided sticky pads to attach the heatsink onto the chips. But it doesn’t stick very well and I'm looking for an alternative. Is there some 'heat sink' glue or similar that people use?? Thanks Peteby Flackster - Controllers
Hi, I'm sure your right about G92 co-ordinate movement. My start.gcode includes a G92 Y0 X135 since I prefer to start my prints from the dump area files attached Thanks Peteby Flackster - Repetier
Hi, I've some odd behaviour when I generate gcode using Repetier (or load gcode when externally generated). The 'ghost image' sits off edge of the platform displayed by repetier. However, it prints just fine - and the image that is displayed during the print ends up in the correct place. (see attachments) Is there something I should be doing to fix this? (I'm using Skeinforge as my slicer) Aby Flackster - Repetier
Of course - all makes sense now. I'll remove the postfix and keep an eye on the file date instead BTW - I assume information that would reside in the skeinforge generated ".txt" file is lost (e.g. distance extruded, volume extruded, etc). Is that right? (I sometimes need it) Thanks Peteby Flackster - Repetier
Hi, I'm having an error when I use Repetier host (v0.40 and previous) to slice using Skeinforge (v0.47). It's rather long & I've attached a screenshot. It starts: "System.IO.FileNotFoundException......." I'm not sure it's a Repetier error, or a Skeinforge error or a mistake in my OPC setup (permissions?) or what I can get round the problem by loading the sliced file from teh Repetier Logsby Flackster - Repetier
Hi, (sorry if this is posted on wrong board - it seemed a combination of several possibles) I think I’ve broken the opto end stop X and Y bits of my Gen6 circuit board. I just wanted to check and see if anyone had suggestions. About 2 weeks ago I crashed my X carriage into the opto end stop. It hasn’t worked since (not sure if the crash hurt it or the crash was the result of something else). Anby Flackster - General
