Problem solved ( I think ) I plugged the connector that came with the motors into the sanguinololu board using the middle four wires and everything turns and steps... Whew... At Last The only problem now seems to be that the driver chips get too hot to touch after a short while driving the motors. I have fitted the little heatsinks that came with the board but they too get very hot. I haven'tby gregted - General
Thanks for the quick reply. Do you mean the centre of the four that I am using as in second from left with 3rd from left or the centre 2 of the 6 that my stepper came with. Thanks again for your help. Gregby gregted - General
Hi, I am having a similar problem. I have recieved my sanguinololu 1.3a complete circuit and my Stepper motors type 103h5208-10u41. They are Sanyo Denki 103H5208-10U41 Stepper Motor 1.8 Deg Nema 17. Red and black wires were swapped on the connector for the sanguinololu but i changed them to be back in order from left to right. I am using Pronterface with x/y feedrate set at 30mm/sec and z setby gregted - General
A hobbed bolt is a bolt or in my case a piece of threaded bar that has been ground with a grinder and then a small 5mm or similar tap to give the bolt teeth to grip the filament. First photo Another great idea from others I have used on mine was to cut the thread along the bolt in places with a dremel tool to turn the thread into teeth. This grips like a bastard. I made my reprap corner pieces from 18mm marine ply and the stepper motor holders from 10mm ply. The extruder is made from a 10mm plastic kitchen cutting board in 3 parts and superglued together. The gears are also made from the same cutting board. The cutting board cost $10 and I had enough left to make several gears or another extruder. The hobbed bolt was a piece of threaded bar left overby gregted - Reprappers

I hope someone on this forum can help. I have pronterface, and replicatorg running fine but want to check out repsnapper as well but can't seem to get a straight answer anywhere on the net. I have been on repsnapper.irc and got nothing but frustation. I have downloaded the latest version of repsnapper but do not understand how to get it running. Hey Skypuppet, I too have been playing around with computers since the early days. My first computer was a Dick Smith VZ300. How did u go with your repsnapper install? I just wasted over 1 hour trying to get a straight answer on repsnapper.IRC. I couldn't believe the amount of running around I was put through. I have pronterface, replicatorg and sli3er installed and running but can't seem to gby gregted - RepSnapper
All parts either assembled or in the mail. Downloaded Jumi to remotely monitor reprap on Iphone. Downloaded and played with ReplicatorG, Sli3er, Pronterface, Google Sketchup. Already designed my first print in sketchup, exported as stl and positioned in Pronerface, ready to print. Love the tech look of Pronterface and it's dual extruder capable. Should be very handy Got lots of ideas of pracby gregted - Australia, Toowoomba RepRap User Group
Hey Shroudeye, Great to meet another new reprapper. I am patiently ( tapping foot ), (watching the post ), etc, waiting for the rest of my parts to make my first Prusa. I have the frame assembled with rods and threads. Didn't have anyone close to make plastics so made them from 18mm ply for feet and 10mm ply for stepper holders and y motor mount. Hi reprappers, I have my reprap frame assembled but need some parts and was wondering if anyone near Toowoomba can help. I need steppers, electronics, t5 pulleys and belts, hot end, and hot bed. I have access to lots of computer power supplies and threaded rod, nuts and washers and stainless if someone wants to swap for the parts i need.by gregted - Australia, Toowoomba RepRap User Group
I know there are lots of variables in a reprap. Especially when the first repstrap is home made out of ply and the extruder is made in layers sideways from a plastic kitchen cutting board. The gears have been cut on a wood lathe from the same material. It will be interesting to find out how well it works if at all. The basics are there, triangular frame, threaded bar, stainless bar for the slidby gregted - Reprappers
Thanks DeusVis. That is just what I wanted. I searched for the multicolored hot end but no luck. Thanks anyway jakowisp.by gregted - Reprappers
Appreciate the replys. Sooo, I should be able to print out a set with 3, 20 meter rolls but in 3 colors. Interesting. I am interested in printing in multiple colors. Is there a way to do this without manually changing the input. j andberg, do you have any links to your design.by gregted - Reprappers
That price for the steppers is the best i've seen. Mind sharing the source? I am building my own repstrap in the reprap design but mainly out of ply instead of abs. Of course the first parts i will print will be upgrades. It would be great to share build experiences.by gregted - Reprappers
My Prusa repstrap ( mainly of ply ) build is coming along nicely and I was wondering if anyone knows how much in kgs or length of abs or pla is needed to build all the rp parts needed to build another prusa. I was thinking of ordering a sample pack of pla that includes 5 rolls of 20 meter lengths of different colors. Would 20 meters be enough to print all the parts? It might be the first rainboby gregted - Reprappers
Hi all I want to build a mendel from ply also and was wondering how yours all turned out. Have you any pics of the prints yet?by gregted - General Mendel Topics
Hi Trystan, I just found your pics of your wooden mendal and was wondering how the final project turned out. Have you printed any parts on it? I am thinking of building one similar to this and would like to hear your views on the wooden parts. I had thought of using as much wood as possible and deleting the threads altogether maybe out of ply. Any thoughts, ideas appreciated. My email is grby gregted - General Mendel Topics
Yeah, I am stating to realise the idea of recycling milk bottles may be a bad idea at the moment. If the cost of abs gets too high, we may have to look more at this technology though at the moment it is still pretty cheap. I was mainly looking at the technology to reuse all the mistakes I am likely to make at the start of my building on my Mendel. Still looking for other users of Repraps in Toby gregted - Australia, Toowoomba RepRap User Group
Any new adaptations/alterations for the sd card reader/lcd screen add on. I will have a reprap mendel soon and would like this feature on mine. Any advice?by gregted - General
Hey Robotc, I live just outside Toowoomba in Gowrie Junction and noticed your post. Have you built your RepRap yet? I am pretty keen to build one of these and have learnt over the years that you can't beat learning from someone who has experience. I know this will be a learning curve but that is half the fun. Otherwise we would just buy one assembled. Anyway love to hear from you. I haven't foundby gregted - Australia, Brisbane RepRap User Group
Have been interested in Reprap for some time and would like to have a go at building my own. I live just outside of Toowoomba and would like to hear from anyone in this area who has build their own. What price can I expect to incur with my own build? Has anyone done any work on recycling milk bottles?by gregted - Australia, Toowoomba RepRap User Group
