I need to rebuild my printer soon... Going to use all the steppers on another machine..something with a good design... not like this evolution crap, maybe a delta All the bearings are now junk... appears they are now bushings lol My gen 6 board is pretty much junk, all the connectors are burning out and need regular reseating... its just a matter of time before they are carbonised completely..by nechaus - General
im also one of those people who prefer PLA.. I hate the smell of abs.. i prefer to print at higher temps to ensure each layer is bonder.. but there is that fine line when to hi will cause warping if used without a chamber I remember once printing in nylon... It was a model of a head.. zombie hunter if my memory serves right.. Woke up in the morning..the print split right down the center, this hapby nechaus - General
we should all file a report to the ACCC, if one of us can be bothered.. we could include a list of customers, I have emails as evidence and records of payments ect... I purchased a New product, Not a broken one.by nechaus - General
Quotes10blazed Quotenechaus The only helpful person was jane I think, she was pretty intelligent and fast at troubleshooting...Well that is a surprise to read. She is the one that is giving me the biggest headache. She was very rude on Skype the last time I called and is literally ignoring my e-mails (have sent other messages from different account to get fast reply). I'm not sure of her relaby nechaus - General
yeah I was under the impression it was Fully Australian when i made the purchase... I cannot figure out why they do it, maybe its a combination of things...Maybe to evade consumer laws in Australia, they are very tight. I remember I had a paypal dispute, But in the end they kept on reassuring that it will be fine..ended up getting replacement parts quickly ect.. They gave me some very crude advby nechaus - General
QuoteMiertam I will ask next time I see the support staff pop up on skype. Something like that would be good to put in their 3dstuffshare site. Which is where I started my search. Thanks Mike it seemed like such an effort for them to give me the .stl because its all laser cut and the files need to be converted they told me. But they done it for me ages ago so they should of uploaded it to 3dsby nechaus - General
if you contact them asking for the .stl they should be able to send you the file. I asked them about 15 months ago and they were able to provide some of the parts but not all... I just got them to send me the gear files in the end and use that gearing... Some of the gears on thingiverse do match.. but do not have the bookmarks anymore.by nechaus - General
I used a zip tie at the end of the day, your to right, Id rather my extruder eating filament than stopping all togetherby nechaus - General
I get how this guys feels, but hey, Open your eyes, lots of people use kick starter as advertising, Free? no... I don't know about you, but my time is worth more than any money amount, the time it takes to organise the campaign costs timeby nechaus - General
Their hotends need so much pressure to extrude plastic causing all sorts of pain to the mindby nechaus - General
The extruder is a piece of shit... , pops, slips, eats, it needs a roller system not friction... reminds me of when was a kid setting up friction drive ebikes... I found retraction to be a mf-bs also with the bowden system they provide including the lock pieces for the tube, eventually they will break and not work. And this is how i fixed it, I changed the whole extruding system while maintainby nechaus - General
cant see the quality but I make and play with alot of multirotors, I trust my prints enough to hold about $800+ worth of gear including my gopro using these 3dsm printer...by nechaus - General
Yeah man I hear you, I thought for the first year I was the problem, I thought it was me using the printer incorrectly until i did my own reseach. I was pretty angry that the company were kinda misleading me, ( yes all of our products work) well after 7 replacement hotend I gave up an went with other hotends and never looked back. My 3d stuff maker printer is about 2years old and being used heaby nechaus - General
yeah I ditched their software along time ago.. I use repetier host and the lastest stable version of slicer... These printers need the latest version of slic3r, gap fill will no longer make your machine a vibratorby nechaus - General
I have just about destroyed all my stepper connections, My printer has been heavily used, serviced often, all my connectors are black! next time your printer is not moving the steppers correctly, double check the connectors. they skimp out on that toby nechaus - General
at the end of the day.. you could print yourself a kit once its going and just build another printer.. new electronics new parts.. two printers is better than one if your trying to make a big thing.. I had two running the other day making quadcopter parts...by nechaus - General
hahah yeah man... I complained to them for atleast 12 months.. i pretty much gave them hell... I mentioned the temp to them as well.. all sorts of stuff that i found wrong with their copied design.. this is what i was talking about Potential Hardware Fixes There have been a couple of instances of dirty 5v power causing instability with the ftdi and atmega chips. If this affects you, a 1n 0by nechaus - General
yeah i hear your frustration!!, yeah its not normal.. But i think it maybe normal for 3d stuffmaker. I remember reading something about this particular gen 6 board having this type of problem.. noise coming from something im not sure.. I found having a second temp prob connected externally to get the right temp.. You can either tinker with your current gear, im sure it will work.. mine didby nechaus - General
Mine behaves like that... I was told by 3dsm that its normal... I know in real life it does not work like this and the temp wont be actually changing that fast... The most I could find on it was.. it was something to do with the gen 6 boards.... I cant remember now ... For the first time in about a year.. I blew my thermistor or wiring got chaffed and shorted somewhere.. id happily take a scrby nechaus - General
yeah thats what I thought.... This is why i went with the buda because most of my printing is with PLA.. abs is smelly stuff... trust me.. once you upgrade the hotend... its more about printing and using your printer to make cool stuff... its not about trying to get a print started.. e3d might still be the way to go because you can upgrade the to a heated bed as well.. you can use them heatedby nechaus - General
Quotes10blazed I've decided to ditch the stock hot end on this machine and follow your path by upgrading to a budaschnozzle. I see that you used the stock electronics. Did you ever have to make any changes with the USB adapter? (Was it you that had the original firmware from 3DSM?) Do you run the fan hard wired to 12v? How about the carriage? I see you listed a few, but which one did you prinby nechaus - General
yeah I am still around. Still using that same Budaschnozzle ... The machine has been running strong..... What's going on anyway?by nechaus - General
id honestly buy a good quality hotend... When i first started printing, I went through about 7 J-head clones, from the company i got the printer off. I almost threw the printer out... after 12 months i went with a good quality hotend and have never had an issue with it... my hotend issues caused me to rage and dream about smashing my printer into pieces.. Never again, dont waste your timeby nechaus - Reprappers
when this kinda issue happens with me, its normally something is loose... try slowing down the speed see if it happens, try and isolate the issue, make sure the smooth rods have no grime on them and that every movement is smooth.. sometimes these things can be so obvious we forget to check the basics.. one time i changed the x carriage, put it back together and i was printing ovals instead ofby nechaus - Reprappers
I have had this issue, I twas as simple as turning up the current and also slow down the speed of the z axis... or its the wiringby nechaus - General
I have never used conductive abs, going to google it now,by nechaus - General
something is either wrong with your pc, Or you have an issue with slicer, My printer computer is a cheap $500 notebook with an i3 processor integrated graphics, Big complex objects dont take longer than 1 minute.. 8 hours is extreme, you should post the file and get someone else to slice it to see if its faster to try and troubleshoot this quicklyby nechaus - Reprappers
I would not bother, Why do you need to do this? extrusion issues? Could something be wrong with your hotend? Wth my budaschnozzle, it requires little pressure to extrude filament, even at 3mm, its so easy, hardly leaves teeth mark in the filament, Just the slightest bit.by nechaus - General
Id get out the acetone, Wash the bearings and rods, put the slightest amount of lubricant and see if it improves.by nechaus - Reprappers
