Hello, stupid question, but when i design somethin in blender it is in BlenderUnits. How big is one BlenderUnit when i export it to STL or how can i scale it correctly? Thanks in Advanceby goaran - 3D Design tools
Thanks for the replies.. i will change the design an bit, so that there arent so many edges to cause friction, and then i'll just try it.. Dont know what pump i will use jet, maybee kind of the thread-extruder thing... with the weight i will habe no problem cause (my reprap is realy havy, but later you might have to use bowden extruders for this..by goaran - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Hi there... i was thinking a bit about color printing and came up with this concept... it is a heated nozzle with several inputs ( red green blue, black and white) but for experimenting i will do just two colors first.. Each color is driven by a stepper, mechanics like in other extruders, nothing special.. the nozzle will milled from aluminium with a high-temperature-resistor as heater.. thisby goaran - Plastic Extruder Working Group
thanks it wasnt that expensive, the ballscrews where about 50€ each at ebay, the steppermotors i got for 12€ from a second hand elektronics provider (edel-schrott.de) the aluminium stuff i got from a friend for 50 bugs all togehter (i think this will be mucht more if you buy it officially) the stepper driver was 100€ the liear-bearings i mady miself using ball-bearings which run on a steel-shaftby goaran - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
hi, i just want to show you my cnc-reprap-whatever. it has a workspace of 300x190x110mm and is driven by EMC² or the reprap board.. the extruder isnt finished, but thet will be the first thing i will mill on it ill post when i get any results.. mor pictures on my homepage(see signature)by goaran - CNC Routers, Mills, and Hybrid RepRapping
i dont have the time to write a wickipage at the moment, but in a few days that will be better.. I still have the cad-files of the carbon-frame, i did them just for visualization then, but maybee you could print that too.. printed copter would be niceby goaran - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Ok, thanks, that is what i wanted to know, @Rob: if you want i can send you the source and the schematics of the quadrocopter.by goaran - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Is there a list of the polymer materials and the advantages/problems of those? I often read PLA is best, but thats hard to find in germany. Which other materials are good to extrude and have low thermal shrinking values? thanks in advanceby goaran - Plastic Extruder Working Group
Wo bekommt man das denn her in kleinen Mengen?
thanks for the quick answer.. i had at univerity a module about plastic extruders, so i know a bit about them.. more or less ,,, for injection molding there are some techniks which have a pushable extruder.. maybe this will work, or a thermal barrier inbetween the first heating and the final so that it first melts a string which gets hard a bit and then is liquidized again in the printer head...by goaran - Paste Extrusion Working Group
Hi there, i thout about building a screw extruder.. the advantage would be that the pellets are much cheaper than the string material.. at the time im experimantig a bit.. the aluminium tube will be heated juzst over the melting point to make it screwable.. this part will not be controlled.. the nozzle will be heated with the default electronix... i dont have a reprap jet, but i will shoby goaran - Paste Extrusion Working Group
first thanks for the answers... @casainho : thans for the link.. thats perfekt.. i wanted to run the mill with emc² anyhow so i just need the extruder.. @sebastien: its a 40mm item profile.. the total size of the machine is about 500x300x250 ore something... and the workingarea will be 300x200x100 ive got all parts together now... when its finised ill put a documentation in the wiki...by goaran - Controllers
Hi there, at the time im building a little cnc-machine.. till now it looks like this: cause the mechanics (3D-movement) is very similar to a reprap i thought of just including the extruder as additional tool instead of the milling tool. now my question. is there anything i have to consider when choosing the electronics for the stepper-motors? The mill will be controld by the emc² software ovby goaran - Controllers
