My tech zone electronic set was lost in the mail, and after 6 weeks Kimberly sent me another one. Then after about 8 weeks (from first order date) both sets arrived in Norway almost at the same time. The packages was stamped from the post office with the same shipping dates Kimberly supplied. (April 28. & May 20.). We decided beforehand that I could buy both sets if they showed up, so I sentby Nudel - General

Good points. This is one of the reasons why great projects like OpenSCAD parameterized mendel is started. Though so far I've been able to look at the official designs with the supplied .stl files through Wings3D or OpenSCAD. Not optimal as the triangulation process makes the models hard to modify, but it is often sufficient if all you want is a closer look.by Nudel - General
The guys at bothacker.com use this. I stumbled upon a few interesting posts yesterday: http://bothacker.com/2010/02/22/build-surface-heater-take-2/ http://bothacker.com/2010/02/26/control-box-and-heater-test/ I ordered a cheap coffee cup warmer from dealextreme. I estimate it won't be able to achieve more than 70+ degrees Celsius when running on 220v. But we'll see when it arrives if it has anyby Nudel - Controllers

Thank for the explanation nophead! So the only reason for connection it like this is if you have several RepRaps connected to the same PSU, and want to switch them off individually. I'll look into something more elegant later on, when I actually have more than one RepRap running. Here's the wiki entry so far.by Nudel - Controllers
Thanks everyone! I'll incorporate more duck tape in version 2.0 As I feel I now have to stand by my new signature, I've made a small wiring schematic for the wiki. But before I put something wrong up there I'd like to know if the wiring even makes sense. I'm especially thinking about the switching of the 12v wire. My limited electronic understanding tells me the power supply hold the 12v chargeby Nudel - Controllers

My personal preference and recommendations as to modelling programs are Wings3D (for polygon mesh modelling) and OpenSCAD (for CSG). A bit of programming experience is good to have when using OpenSCAD. Browse a bit at thingiverse to see some coding examples and get a feel for the language. One good starters example is thing 3247. Hi folks! I tested my tech zone remix electronics kit today, and everything worked well. The motors moved as expected, the opto endstops triggered and the construction held up. The Z axis jammed now and then though, but all in all, a successful first test! To supply 12v I wired up an old 250w power supply I had lying around, and during the testing process nearly tripped and ripped everything doby Nudel - Controllers
You might want to look for a local supplier of ABS plastic welding rods, which is often readily available from several places. There might be some quality issues which can make a problem for extrusion though, so try out a bit first.by Nudel - General

As long as it wont solidify at a later stage, and clog up some piping or pumps of course. But then, you could just dump it in your garden instead. > Did nobody try to build break-off supports, yet? I'm uploading the firmware to my tech zone remix kit, and have this thermistor from ultimachine. It's model number B57560G 104F like MB says above. But the model on the wiki is B57540G0 104F? Unfortunately the datasheet from the supplier is not available. So I'm not able to check if the specifications differs, or calculate another one. Is the model number in the wiki wrong, or can the models useby Nudel - General

Thank you Mdbaughman2 for the pictures and your work on the how-to faq. I find it very helpful as I just received my electronic set, and am just now wiring it together. Is it a good idea to solder the grounding modification anyway, even before testing the boards, just to be sure? Or would it be enough to add the cd-rom audio cable to start with? I made a illustration of where all the ground poinby Nudel - Controllers
Attaching the thermistor to the nozzle itself is probably also a good idea, which I found out after I had finished wiring up.by Nudel - For Sale
) - 15 years agoFirst of all, welcome to the forum! Just wanted to say that you don't have to use the cap screws if they're expensive to source locally. Personally I use cheap hex bolts like this one. The m4x40 bolts only set me back about 2.5€ for 25 at my local hardware store, and work just fine. (A few places is a bit tight fit). You can use wood instead of acrylic if you can't find it. The thick sheet is rby Nudel - Reprappers

The wiki says 4-6 mm http://reprap.org/wiki/Mendel_materials_procurement#Thick_Sheet But I don't see why 8 mm shouldn't work? You might run into some height problems on the frog, but you could always counterbore the bottom bolts. And of course it will weigh more than a thinner alternative. I will now dispence my usual advice: Try it! And if it doesn't work, put it up on the wiki so the next perby Nudel - General Mendel Topics
What program are you using? How much off centre is it? Please post an example. If it's a tiny amount, perhaps it could be from the conversion? And the tear drop holes would seem to be a bit off centre, so to speak.by Nudel - General
My pin have stayed put since May 5th. But I can't find a way to show all pins at the same time. Kinda defeats the purpose if you have to look between several pages to get the overall picture, I think. Or is there some option I can't find?by Nudel - Reprappers
> i am trying to figure out how to start a new page Just write the name of the page in the wiki url, even if it doesn't exist you get the option to edit it, and thus you create a new page. I use Locite 243 and this kind of bolt: They work fine so far, except for the middle bolt on x-180-z-bearing-plate, as there's not enough space for the proper tools.by Nudel - General Mendel Topics
