just noticed this in the error portion as well in the attachment and i forgot to adress it, the machine is an original mendel, techzone electronicsby morrist - General
here is what it performed, jogged in the y and z direction immediatley from the begining of the print, in a random direction. very slowly. not at the 16 mm/s i have it set for. did not move in the x direction, attempted to crash into the frame on the y axis no idea what in the g code is telling it to do any of this morristby morrist - General
so in preface, i should turn everything off, then manually write it in the start.gcode file? also, maybe my steps/mm for the axis is way off, when they are both the same( extruder and travel speed) it extrudes way to much plastic. i will post some g code as well edit: here is some of the beginning code for the 40mm test cube G90 G21 ;M103 M105 M106 M140 S60.0 M141 S30.0 M142 S0.0 ;M113 S1.0by morrist - General
this website may be of help, here you can find some samples of things people make with reprap's and makerbots The plastic i believe runs for around 15 dollars per lb. which is a decent amount of plastic Moristby morrist - General
so i got things working finally, just having trouble learning how to use skeinforge my largest problem is that when i start it, sometimes it climbs and moves to a random p[position and starts printing from there. maybe a couple inches off the bed, even when i start the part when everything is already home. also, moving to home is incredibly slow. the last issue i have is knowing what speeds to sby morrist - General
this page may get you started in the direction you are goingby morrist - General
i have the E codes working now and the null code is remarked out as well. just need to calibrate the extruderby morrist - General
thanks for pointing all that out. for know im going to attempt to stick to sk40, if i cannot get it to work i will try the simplified version you pointed out. i will post once i give this a try Thanks again Morristby morrist - General
so after modifying the replace .csv file, i cannot get it to comment out the wrong commands, attached is the picture of what i have on my screen, maybe its something simple that i am missing. morristby morrist - General
when i add the g and m codes in the replace folder and it remarks them out in the exported g code, is the remarked g code compensated by having other code added? or are these truly un needed codes? Thank you again for teh help, this is going to make everything go alot smoother Morristby morrist - General
droftarts, these are some very helpful links, thank you. i just have a few more questions. i went to look for the replace.csv, and i cannot find it in the alterations folder. maybe i am missing something important. is there an actual file named replace.csv, or am i making one? and it mentions in the extruder calibration for my second question re flashing the firmware and setting the number thaby morrist - General
hello all, i have posted for help on this board a few times and have gotten some very helpful tips. i have used repsnapper to create g code up until this point and know i am trying to use skeinforge 40 to create my g code so i may get some better results. however i am having some odd issues 1.) i cannot control the temperature in repsnapper, it seems to be set automatically? maybe somewhere inby morrist - General
that failure mode is common for their hot end. i recently replaced mine with the maker gear kit and it is much better. when i get back home from relatives i will experiment with it and see what seems to trigger itby morrist - RepSnapper
i have a makergear hot end , and i am running the monolithic electronics from techzone. havent had time to experiment with it again today. no visible damage to the boardby morrist - RepSnapper
thanks guys, that is helpful. one other odd question that happened last night. I turned my extruder heat off, and it continued to soar. it ended up at 328 . 328 when the thing was supposed to be off. Ive never heard of that happening to anyone and i really have no idea what may have caused it morristby morrist - RepSnapper
so i fixed the slow movement with the multiplier button in repsnapper, and it works at an acceptable speed now. but i cannot get it to extrude during the print. but the reprap moves around as it would during printing. i have sf 40, repsnapper and the techzone monolithic electronics btw Morristby morrist - RepSnapper
hello all, i am having a strange problem when i export the g code to repsnapper from skeinforge. It seems to move randomly at an extremely slow pace when i just tried the default settings. also, the picture that appears on the bed is not centered or anything but appears to be off the bed. if anyone has had this problem it would be great to know how you resolved it morristby morrist - RepSnapper
a rack and pinion setup may save space on the x axis. have the rack going parrallel with the y axis., this way it wouldn't change the profile in that direction and the carriage could move the same amount. But overall, i believe your idea is a pretty good one. well doneby morrist - General
how long have you had their electronics set? pm me when you read this morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
if money is no option that may be the thing to do. however, if you're like the rest of us, maybe you could build a prusa, then make it automaticby morrist - General
khalid, good point, didnt really consider it. sometimes i cannot think outside of the box. i have a cheap multi meter from radio shack, maybe like 10$ figured they all said OL . il keep checking to see if i can help you any furtherby morrist - General
khalid, sorry to not follow up this post. number 3 i listed, there should be an open load between the heater wires and the thermocouple. could be on eof the problems. let us know if you figure it outby morrist - General
thanks, looks like il order the pack for the wade extruder style tomorrowby morrist - General
so im looking to replace my hot end, my techzone one is full fail. im thinking about this one. im in the states, so this one lo0oks like what i may do. any thoughts or comments? morristby morrist - General
khalid, The end of the thermocouple is kind of exposed. is it possible it is making connection with the nichrome wire or the brass tip? can you read the resistances for me. 1.) between the heater wires 2.) between the thermocouple wires 3.) between one of the thermocouple wires and one of the heater wires. Doesnt matter which ones. one of each is fine. also, what electronics are you using?by morrist - General
Hello, so i have a techzone kit and i have rebuilt it 3 times to get it to work once and it just keeps breaking in the stupidest ways. i see on ebay there is only one pre built hot end/ extruder. does anyone know of any others i could mount onto the wade style extruder? attached is a picture explaining how i feel in regards to the ever failing hot end. Thank you for reading this morristby morrist - Plastic Extruder Working Group
hi all, seem to be having issues with my hot end after rebuilding it. I am running techzone electronics with the thermistor. i am getting alot of codes and unstable temperatures. i was wondering if there is a list anywhere of what the codes mean.32767, 31743 are two that i am getting alot. morristby morrist - RepSnapper
thats what i have been ding. it opens acommand looking window, then closes in less than a secondby morrist - Skeinforge
