chase82, in a few short moments im going to give it a try. il post again once i try it. i have one other question regarding the motor controllers. is there a way to fix those as well? my x axis motor seems to always step differently, i have no idea on how i can fix that. Morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
chase82, just to be clear, i am re flashing the extruder controller correct? what about the stepper controller, since one of the motor's seems to be stepping differently? i have arduino 0021 downloaded from awhile ago. thought i would need it, havent touched it since i downloaded it. i just want to make sure i dont mess anything up lol Morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
how is the monolithic* board? i was considering trying to contact techzone and see if i could work a deal out with them. EtherDais, i purchased all the motors from techzone, it would be kinda odd if it stepped different than all the other's i recieved from them. how involved is it to change the firmware to compensate for the different motor? also, is using the stepper controller to drive the eby morrist - General Mendel Topics
hey all, i assembled my mendel last december, and still have yet to get my techzone gen 3 electronics to work properly. i am hoping somebody could point me in the right direction, as techzone is not responding to emails right now. the extruder will not run at all or heat up when wired. also, i cannot seem to get the opto's to work correctly either, it seems whatever way i plug them in they get bby morrist - General Mendel Topics
I am a mechanical engineering student at the university at buffalo, in New york. i have been following the project for a little over a year, and as of next semester, the university's robotics club will have a reprap. we are in the process of ordering partsby morrist - General
i have everything wired identical to these, only my x axis is functioning properly. the extruder to mother board is wired the same way, still will not extrude. even after the commands were inputted( that were suggested on here earlier). thanks for the pictures though morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
these are the photo's i have been using, but still cannot get it to work. neither of the articles explain in great depth how anything is assembled. like this part "Note you MUST be able to upload firmware or you will be stuck! the firmware is where the software and settings ___bla___bla gone cross eyed... need break...." just need some pictures to show one completely wired and working. tomorrowby morrist - General Mendel Topics
if someone with techzone gen 3 electronics, could take a picture of their wiring that would be great. im interested in wiring to and from the extruder controller, and from the endstops to the stepper controller. thank you Morristby morrist - General Mendel Topics
so extruder controller was burned up. got a new one, still cannot for the life of me get it to run. tried the g and m codes stated before, nothing has worked.by morrist - General Mendel Topics
tried the g code commands, didnt seem to change anything. does anybody have working techzone electronics?by morrist - General Mendel Topics
So, just tried to check some of the endstops, when i home y or z axis, they only move a small increment towards home. also, the y axis motor seems to have switched polarity by itself and sent the y stage crashing into the frame. the stepper is also still twitching on the extruder. seems like there is soo many problemsby morrist - General Mendel Topics
Hey, i built a mendel about 7 weeks ago and had to go back to college, without finishing it. i am back now for spring break and would like to get it to run. First off, a little background info, I am using techzone electronics with repsnapper. here are the issues i have, i keep getting an echo command inside of the environment. they are m105 and g92, what do these mean? also, when i hit home in rby morrist - General Mendel Topics
so a rating + pedigree? sounds like a good idea. maybe the wiki could someday have a diagram of the tree/ pedigree. once i get my machine printing better, perhaps i will work on that rating system. but im sure others could easily do that as well. morristby morrist - General
For a pedigree, how about printed machine accuraccy? we can come up with a rating system, based on upgrades to your machine , precision etc. this could be better than a pedigree, as alot of the reprap parts are made on repstraps. just an idea that could be adopted. morristby morrist - General
Dazed, The link you sent to "this" is known as a delta robot. There is a sub section here on the forum for their development. it seems that they were making some pretty good progress, and maybe hung up on their software. Morristby morrist - General
i believe there is a claystruder. so you could do an investment mold with ceramics here it is in thingiverse Morristby morrist - General
spacexula, Did you ever try to get a safety deposit sorta thing? this could guard us. maybe the price will dip low enough and such an idea might be unneeded. i forgot about the prusa mendel. i haven't been on ebay in a few weeks. Thanks for the insight Morristby morrist - General
i'm going to look into different mold materials, there may be a way. or maybe just cast a few sets of parts and get it goingby morrist - General
it would be nice, to get a few parts from a bunch of people, maybe make a re useable mold, and send the mold out instead of parts for people to make their parts. this would allow people to make their rp parts and send it to the next user. allowing this to spread faster. After the initial mold is made, the donated parts could be sent back to the original donors.by morrist - General
Ive read it on the wiki, and it doesnt seem to contain much. is there an active one in existence? Once my reprap is running perfectly, i may be interested in getting this rolling. Morristby morrist - General
After drying, is the nylon able to be bent enough to be coiled and fed through the extruder? Morristby morrist - General
with the machine plugged in, it says usb serial port (com4). im pretty sure yesterday i installed the ftdi driver, i tried uninstalling it and when i plugged the machine in again it said the same thing. maybe there is an issue with the motherboard itsself, because it still says it cannot connect with the printer.by morrist - General
how do i go about setting up the drivers and figure out which port it is connected to? i see in repsnapper that you can change the port that it is connected to? Morristby morrist - General
Dazed, This clears alot up for me. So i should be able to use repsnapper, connect it to the correct port, and be able to connect to the printer? If thats the case, that would be great. would really like to be able to get this to work before tomorrow. i go back to university tomorrow night.by morrist - General
bbrigstkd, i have the techzone thermocouple. lambert told me that the firmware is pre loaded onto the electronics. Here is where i am lost; do i need to use the arduino environment to load anything else into the reprap motherboard? i am not actually sure what replicator g, and repsnapper do. i am confused with this just a little lol. regardless of which one i use, i still use the host softwareby morrist - General
ok, so i have the right power supply. i have a few questions i really need answered. first, the firmware is already on the electronics. so now i need to download the software onto the electronics. here, it says to use replicatorg, this is the regular software used for reprap correct? once this is downladed to the reprap via the a to b cable, i can now run the reprap with the reprap program on thby morrist - General
maybe it is, i lack some knowledge of the connectors and names. gonna go to the store tonight and try to find the right cable. thanks andrewby morrist - General
thanks for the links, think i had been looking around there before. in the kit, there is a usb to ttl bouard that connects to the mother board. the usb portion of this board doesnt appear to be usb, does anyoe know what kind of cable connects the computer to the reprap? thanks Morristby morrist - General
Hey, seem to have the mechanical construction and the wiring complete. I have a few questions before i plug this thing into the computer. 1.) Techzone claims the firmware and boot loader are on the electronics already. is there a link as to how i set everything up so i can start printing? with the arduino, sanguino and such? 2.) The firmware that is uploaded, is that makerbot firmware or the reby morrist - General
