Dc42 I would love to get the duet and expansion. But the aud is crap. 150£ is 300aud plus shipping. Toxuin that is cool. I didn't see a link for it. Is it in the wiki? It would be cool to get this fixed and going again. I just have to decide if I want Ethernet or not.by bradleyk - Controllers

Hi i saw in your github an expansion for extra steppers, did you ever make one?. i can't seem to find any info about it. so i have now read most of this thread, i am looking at getting 32 bit more my new 3d printer, i will need 7 steppers. that rules our radds. the duet with expansion is expensive, at least in aud$.... i am happy to do some R&D with this and see if we can get it back to hoby bradleyk - Controllers

I have been through 5 redesigns so far and haven't found one i like. I would like to look at dual carriages. I am going to make one with mdf to see if i can get dual carriages working with core-xy. I am going to follow you advice and go with hiwin, 32bit, and keep my current printer operational. i still want to go with Spectra line. will see how it holds up on the mdf printer. im not looking fby bradleyk - CoreXY Machines

i have used the supported rails on my cnc machine, they are nice at 20mm, i haven't liked the play at 8mm. you can get a cheaper version of the hiwin system Here, i don't know how they would preform. would be eaiser to mount. i am currently thinking of a dual x carriage. Tho it would require a total change of design for dual carriages.by bradleyk - CoreXY Machines

I like building and experimenting, I will see how it goes. I might need to get a dial caliper to be able to check. I suspect either the ballscrew or a geared stepper will give the best result.by bradleyk - CoreXY Machines

i have been through a few iterations. I don't like the 2:1 pulley system, it looks messy and uses lot's of v bearings. i think this might be the best solution. I would love to use a geared stepper. might look at getting one. but $30 more. I could buy 1kg of abs for that. i will need to design a support housing for it. Christian is also running a 2:1. i will either be using a 2:1 pulley system, or a gear system on the motor. I do have a nema 23 stepper and i am planing to order some dvr8825, which should give me 1.5-2a if i need it. Spectra line without pulleys is 0.02mm per step, which it too much for the z axis aiming for 0.08mm-0.2mm layer heights. I might have a look at getting some 0.9* steppers for x anby bradleyk - CoreXY Machines

z axis i plan to use spectra line to hold the platform level. i will be using it on both sides. the z axis rails and ball screw are a bit long as they are leftovers from my cnc upgrade they are 20mm rails with a 16mm ballscrew i just need to decide if i want to make my printer 450mm tall to have a total z height of 300mm i think that will be a yes. reinforced frameby bradleyk - CoreXY Machines

yeah i didn't like the way the profile are attached at the top, but i wanted to run the spectra line inside the joins. thank you, i have updates the design now. using the 2040 below do you think i will need to use the corner brackets in the bottom? it would look nicer without them. and make a door / heated chamber easier to install. yes i plan to use printed parts for the carriages Stepby bradleyk - CoreXY Machines

i am looking for a 200x200x200 build platform. maybe 300x200x200. i am trying to decide on a linear motion system. i like the use of spectra line. hwin track system A very good system, the bearing units might be a bit heavy compared to others. very expensive. 20x20 v-slot with their carriage system at $5 per wheel + spacers can get expensive fast. i have no idea how it performs m8 hardened steeby bradleyk - CoreXY Machines

i bought a ramps 1.2 kit a couple of months ago, today i tested the mosfests, and they don't work, has this happend to you? or do you know of any ways to fix it, i have done some testing, with d9 on, it sits at 3.25v (shouldn't it be 5v) with d9 on and no load there is 19v across the screw terminals, with d9 off and no load there is 0v across the screw terminals, with d9 on and load there isby bradleyk - RAMPS Electronics

Hi, i have been looking at 3d printing / pcb milling could someone more experienced have a look at the parts i am getting. Complete 1.2v RAMPS setup. pulling apart 3-4 printers to make my first one i own a dremel when i get this working i will buy extruder head and print a RepRap and the transfer the electronics into that. am i missing anything? how easy is it using Google Sketch-up to priby bradleyk - General
