On the back of the circuit board behind pot there is a place for a surface mount component which is labelled 'RV'. Does anyone know what, if anything, is supposed to be there? Edit: Don't worry. Nothing goes there as per ebay pic I found. Pot measures good (5k pot). everything else looks ok.by Gibbedy - Reprappers
It took me a while to sort out my z stalling after firmware upgrade. Thought I must have had some really poor motors given what the default settings were trying to achieve.by Gibbedy - Reprappers
Hello, I've got a Full graphic smart controller from hobbyking and it was DOA. I got my money back without requiring me to send it back. The issue is that when I first used it I could only barely see the text with contrast pot set at maximum. After a few minutes of testing it was no longer possible to see text. Backlight works, menu beeps and functions work. Anyone know the electronics enough tby Gibbedy - Reprappers
Quotemartinprice2004 Most G code generation software allows you to add start code to your G code file. A good method is to set the end stop somewhere near, then modify the zero position in software (you do a slight move in Z and reset the datum). It saves constantly having to move the mechanical end stop. Could this be done with proterface to remove the need to re-slice when the bed gets bumped?by Gibbedy - General Mendel Topics
Hello again. Thankyou everyone. I have read all the posts and has given me things to think about for future problems. I was speaking to reifsnyderb on irc about my issue and he suggested that it may be too high extrusion pressure on my MKIV-B jhead. He sen't me a replacement MKV-B jhead and it has solved this issue. problem sorted.by Gibbedy - General

Since day one I have had an issue with my printers extrusion and have posted here several times. In order to solve this problem I am going to calibrate again in the hope that someone will be able to help me with this. I am attempting to calibrate a prusa i1 with jhead MKIV-B hotend, 3mm, PLA. it's the ptfe liner on a mkIV-B Jhead. I now believe there is no problem with it.by Gibbedy - General

I assume for a given motor nothing much changes between printer designs. Or is the speed limit to do with flex or vibration or something? Anyway I have no experience. I run at 60mm/s on my standard prusa mendel because thats what slic3r defaulted to i believe.by Gibbedy - General Mendel Topics

I can't get extrusion as consistent as I'd like at different feed rates. I pulled my hotend off and found the grub screw holding the ptfe liner cranked up very, very tight. Is this deformed and need replacing? edit: Jhead MKIV-Bby Gibbedy - General
I'm don't know what your stuck at, but after your printer is working, goto the calibration wiki and download the calibrations stl's and go from there.by Gibbedy - Reprappers

You upgraded pronterface and you started have this issue. I believe it is a coincidence. Get a multimeter and see what the voltage is at your bed. Ok. My $19 usb camera arrived. On a long run the previous strip seems to cool and curl up. Anyhow, I rarely need to do large area layers so I'm not too fussed at the moment. Just posting a picture in case it's obvious to someone what the issue is. Thanks.by Gibbedy - Reprappers

So your saying you have fixed the 2.2v drop at your power supply with a bigger supply yes? I believe you will see firmware info when you connect to your printer in pronterface. Load a job up ready to print. Find an edit button, I think file>edit and you will see a text box full of text. This is the Gcode that was produced by slic3r that pronterface is going to send over your USB>serial conby Gibbedy - Reprappers

If your also having z axis problems as well I would say you have loaded incorrect firmware. Pronterface has no effect on z axis lift either. If the light is on your bed is heating unless there is some hardware fault. Check connections, measure voltage at heatbed. Someone else may be able to help with configuration file if you post what firmware you are using.by Gibbedy - Reprappers
Where do I find information on the different versions to be able to make a decision? I did say I needed a list of parts... But I also need instructions to know how to put it together. I think reprap mag has the best instructions I've seen so I will probably go with that whatever Einstein is. Thanks all.by Gibbedy - General Mendel Topics
Pronterface only tells your Mendel max a temperature. Your printerface upgrade has nothing todo with it. Check what Yvan says.by Gibbedy - Reprappers
I have a built 1 Prusa Mendel from the wiki instructions which was pretty painless. The father In law wants to build one and was thinking of recommending the i3. The problem is I can't put together a list of parts. I end up at something called a gut hub reading a Readme file for the single plate version that refers to Visual instructions that don't exist as far as I can tell.
