Gaou, Thank you once more for the suggestion. I used my power supply to power up both the extruder hotend and the hot bed, both gained temp at acceptable rates and achieved greater heating then has been observed to date. This leads me to believe that there is something wrong in either the setup or I am not able to get power from the ramps to the devices. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers! That is a good idea thanks. By chance do you know the voltage I could use to do the same for the extruder? Cheers! Cybermastifby Cybermastif - General Mendel Topics
First off, thanks for taking the time to read this post. SO here is the deal, I have built a Prusa i3 kit from Foldger Tech. It seems to be a decent enough kit. A friend of mine who is now 1200 miles away helped with the configuration setup, and I had it to the point where I could move the head, got the bed level and such. Then I had to move. So I am finally back at it, and I tried to heat uby Cybermastif - General Mendel Topics
O Lampe, Sorry I thought it was an assumed that I would have the Mega as part of that picture (which was clearly talking to the laptop, we had the current Marlin firmware loaded.) It is my fault for not being clear. To be exact I had the whole package there, the Mega, the Ramps, the drivers all the connections were properly made. As stated it worked once we switched cables the electronics powby Cybermastif - RAMPS Electronics
All right, I am trying to understand why this issue occurred. I and the young man who helped me and identified the cause, but we were not able to understand the WHY of it. Here is the issue, we had voltage of 12.36 from the power supply to the RAMPS, same on the headers at the power supply. The Ramps however was not powering up, we were simply not able to get power past the connector. We checby Cybermastif - RAMPS Electronics
This build of your is not only amazing in general, is it also a very beautiful piece of machinery. It is art in motion! I am just starting in on building my first 3D-P, I can only hope it comes out so nice. Now I do have a question. Can you tell me more about the dual extruder setup? Why did you choose to go with E3D all metal hot-ends? And what Extruder is that? Was the setup very differby Cybermastif - General Mendel Topics
Pocketmoon, makovai, and remoteflyer, it sounds like all of you went the route or purchasing a kit. What was your reasoning for not sourcing it yourself? I ask this having moved well into the process. Yes I am having second/third thoughts about going this route. My justification being that I keep telling myself it is the best way to learn how this works. I will be curious as to your answers.by Cybermastif - Reprappers
