I have access to a mill, and would be interested in experimenting with novel nozzle designs. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy J-Head equivalent PEEK tubing (in quantities <= 1m) or similar material? Cheers, MarkRby MarkR - Reprappers
SOLVED! Turns out it was a dodgy thermistor, thanks!by MarkR - RAMPS Electronics
So the problem's not with the bed, and most likely not with RAMPS 1.4, is there some sort of firmware tweak?by MarkR - RAMPS Electronics
Have you tried the RAMPS 1.4 test code? When I upload that the bed heats up, just not with marlin :/by MarkR - RAMPS Electronics
Taking the hotend apart as much as you can, putting the whole thing in the oven (minus electronics!) and then poking the softened plastic through with allan keys often does the trick. If there's a tiny piece of debris inside the metal tip of the hot end, again soften whatever's there in the oven. What I've found works best for poking through the .35mm orifice is the end of a guitar string - theyby MarkR - Australia, Melbourne RUG
Sorry I should have been more clear. It alternates consistently when clicking "extrude", as in click once it rolls clockwise, click twice anticw, but when printing it appears to move randomly, though I'm sure there's some twisted logic beneath it all.by MarkR - Reprappers
Hi there, My Prusa i3 is running pretty nicely now thanks to the great people of this forum. However, I've got a weird problem with the extruder motor - each time I click extrude in Pronterface, the extruder motor changes direction. Any ideas why? MarkRby MarkR - Reprappers
You got it ShadowRam Tiny solder retouch and it works a treat, thanks!by MarkR - RAMPS Electronics
Hi all, I've fine tuned the currents on the trim pots and still have this peculiar problem. The x-axis only moves when I touch the A4988 driver around the processing chip. Originally I thought this may be a heating issue, where my finger was required to absorb the excess heat, but now I've realised the solution is not touching the chip itself, but the pins around MS1-3, touching them seems to perby MarkR - RAMPS Electronics
Dear Reprap Gurus, I'm working on my i3 build and have come across this strange problem. In Pronterface or Repetier host I can move the axes up and down by 0.1 without any difficulty, but when I try a larger distance (eg. 1) the motors whistle but no movement occurs. They move successfully over larger distances with the test firmware running. This problem isn't fixable by adjusting the trim pot oby MarkR - Reprappers
Thanks for the feedback! I inspected the arduino and there's a little chip next to the USB port that looked fried. Replaced the board and now it all works fine!by MarkR - RAMPS Electronics
Dear RAMPS gurus, I've got my Prusa i3 set up with RAMPS 1.4, test firmware works Ok all the motors and heaters are fine. But when I connect to Pronterface or Repetier host it only connects when the PSU is switched off. I can connect, read from the SD and even start a print, but as soon as I fire up the PSU the connection to my laptop dies. Same thing happens in the Arduino IDE, any ideas why thiby MarkR - RAMPS Electronics
