I heard the 5V power supply was not stable on that board. Two options, one if you connect the USB to the board you get stable 5V or take BL Touch to a buck converter for the 5V.by 3DLTech - Firmware - Marlin
Thanks I think @Dust answered the question. The difference between a regular DC motor vs Stepper was what I was missing. I only wanted to use it because I have a nema 24 stepper on my Y axis and with the 8825’s it was using was skipping steps! I was hoping to use a driver with more amps. I had an L298 from a previous project and I thought I could just use that but like you guys pointed out, Iby 3DLTech - RAMPS Electronics
Were you able to get a solution for this? Did you find it in another forum?by 3DLTech - General

I am using Ramps 1.4 with a driver extender and a Reprap Discount Full Graphics Smart Controller and Marlin 1.0.8. I can home my X0 and X2 carriages using my X_min and X_max endstops but once it homes I cannot find X2 on the menu to move it on its own. Do I need to customize the menu? I have tried using the E2 extruder move function since that is my free extruder but nothing happens.by 3DLTech - RAMPS Electronics
Disregard my last post I just went to your Github site and read the description. Nice idea!by 3DLTech - Developers
Does the ESP32 have enough pins to support all the motors and periferals needed in a 3D printer?by 3DLTech - Developers
Great Idea. Can you fix Ramps-FD? This started as a great way idea but abandoned there is a great need for cheap 32 bit boards like ramps1.4 is to 8 bit.by 3DLTech - Developers
I bought a cheap stepper driver extender on ebay and connected it to my Ramps 1.4 aux 2 pins 44,64 and 59 and created a new definition for E2 on the pinsRamp.h file in ramps. the new marlin firmware will recognize E2 and will automatically redefine as X2. you have to activiate the xmaxplug defenition in order to mke it workby 3DLTech - RAMPS Electronics
thanks that answers my questionby 3DLTech - Firmware - Marlin
i uploaded Arduino IDE onto my PI3 and when i try to compile Marlin it has multiple errors. I copied my working copy of Marlin from my PC directly to my pi including all the subdirectories and libraries. Does the directory structure need to be rearranged for Rasbian? i want to upload changes to my firmware to my 3D printer straight from my pi.by 3DLTech - Firmware - Marlin

Acme threads are trapezoidal shaped screws as designated by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) that uses imperial units. Trapezoidal metric threads are defined by the International Standards Institute (ISO) that uses the metric system. So there should be no debate on the issue the designation is done by definition. You cannot have an ACME thread with a TR*.* designation or vice veby 3DLTech - Reprappers
I don't believe the ebay pillowblock bearing are suitable for the axial loads you are suggesting for this application. I made a similar design to JamesK but I 3D printed my thrust bearing housings.by 3DLTech - General
@rumjar86 you probrably are not referencing the right thermistor tables. Do you know what kind of thermistors you have?by 3DLTech - General
Is that using windows?by 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
I also believe I found out why I could not make the motors work and I found this out when I was attempting the test with my standard RAMPS board. I did not have my thermistors installed so Repetier would not recognize any of the motors. Once I hooked up the thermistors I was able to move the motors with my RAMPS board. I quickly switched out the boards, attached my Due-Ramps-FD board, hooked uby 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Did anyone find out why the Firmware does not compile in Windows? Regards, Jaimeby 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
i am not home this weekend I will test it tomorrow night.by 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
I am using Arduino 1.6.4 Please find attached my configuration.h file. The only change I made was I changed from RADDS to BOARD_RAMPS_FD_V1. Did you see my comment on the heater/motor(P107) labels and schematics not matching? Is my comment relevant? BTW Thanks for all the support to you and Andrew. I just loaded most recent Marlin4Due files. It doesn't stop compiling, its in some sort of endless do loop.by 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
My fastio.h does not have the _FASTWRITE(pin,v) command.by 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
BTW i had to solder all the driver pins om the top of the board. They had zero solder on them. Very difficult to do after the driver rows are installed.by 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Tim you are correct the rows for the drivers are inverted. The boards have a chevron that indicates ground. I aligned the GND on the driver to the chevrons. The picture I attached should be the right orientation for the DRV8825......unless the chevrons mean VCC then there is my problem.by 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
I am using DRV8825 1/32 microstepping. the RampsFD wiki has a picture that shows P107 as a heater power input. however Bobs Power.sch schematics indicates P107 is used to power the motors. Can someone include a picture of a setup I could use to test the motors?by 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Tim I can't run any of my motors. I modified the pin_Ramps_FD.h file too. What is IIRC?by 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Tim please see attached my configuration.h file. Thanks for thinking I could build my own V2.by 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
+Maxim Melcher in Google+ has successfully added an LCD 12864. He upgraded the 47uF 16V capacitor to 100uF 16V on his Due.by 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
when i use marlin4due these 3 red lights turn on they are leds on D8,D12 and D8. i have drv8825 driver, 115200 baud rate, changed config.h to match my port. i am trying to use my motor using repetier with no luck. when i use the repetier firmware I only get led D2 to turn on, but again nothing happens. I'm pretty frustrated right now with my ramps fd. i already ordered an eeprom for my dueby 3DLTech - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
