It's not RAMPS or MOSFET, since the LCD controller uses the same electronics to control the heaters as the PC . . . this is either firmware, or Repetierhost, and I tend to favor the latter . . . What happens if you send gcodes to the printer directly, and not using the Repetierhost functions? And what do you get back from the printer from either attempt? There is no need to remove u8glib - I flipped back and forth in test many times, with nothing mlre than changing the #define from REPRAP_DISCOUNT_SMART_CONTROLLER to REPRAP_DISCOUNT_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER (or whatever they are spelling wise . . . .). And those should be the only defines you need - they subsequently include all else. If you have screen issues as you describe, and the LCD works eby tadawson - General

Most folks have found that IDE issues really are not the IDE, but a setting or something, and most that have retried 1.6.5/6 or so find it works fine. Is the correct board type set? Going back to 1.0.x at this point is more likely to cause problems than resolve them, especially with new Arduino types. - Timby tadawson - Firmware - mainstream and related support
Quotebonmotwang I have been enjoying the new Prusa i3, which is my first 3D printer arrived a couple of weeks ago. I did a few reinforcements to square out the X/Y/Z. Printed a few nice items, no big issues. Now I am getting into more details and asking for better printing results. The first thing I noticed is the extruder motor sometimes loses its steps. You can't 'short' a supply by power cycling . . . a short is an errant electrical connection. Some supplies will 'crowbar' (go into protect) from this, and simply leaving it unpowered for a while may bring it back to life. If not, check it for blown fuses. - Timby tadawson - RAMPS Electronics
I had a spool of Inland PLA that was off, and had lumps to 1.9-something mm, IIRC, and would jam. 8 others were fine, as was the replacement, but it *can* happen, and can produce some intense head scratching for a bit . . . - Timby tadawson - Delta Machines
QuoteDust @tadawson No, your just obsessed with FTDI chips shariqkhanfreelancer never said it had a FTDI, you did. I've said that most mega2560 dont have FTDI chips, most have atmega16u2 or ch340 shariqkhanfreelancer has since said "I dont think it uses a FTDI chip." When using Pronterface (or whatever), when Marlin is reset, the version should be in the initial blast of stuff it outputs at boot, or you can just read it from the source in the copy you used in the IDE to upload it . . . - Timby tadawson - Delta Machines
The regulator is not used with USB power, so that isn't likely, and even if the firmware was wiped, the bootloader should still connect . . . have you tried the IDE? Otherwise, cable, USB chip, you have a clone USB chip and a predatory FTDI driver "Fixed it" for you, or just inherent Windows flakiness . . . . - Timby tadawson - Reprappers

Quoteanwofis Ok i found a solution here. I changed #define MOTHERBOARD BOARD_RAMPS_13_EFB to #define MOTHERBOARD BOARD_RAMPS_13_EEB. Is there a significant difference between both? EFB is Extruder, Fan, Bed on D8/D9/D10 . . . EEB is Extruder, Extruder, Bed . . . completing the definitions for the second extruder, and thus allowing a clean compile . . . - Timby tadawson - RAMPS Electronics
This is a delta, right? All endstops should be set the same, since they reference the towers, and not the actual cartesian movements. So, looks like this will be "Set Z endstop inverting to 'true' for the win . . ." - Timby tadawson - Delta Machines
All in all, the kit I got was decent for the price, and support has been OK . . . this is my one exception, and hence the reason I posted this thread. It might be the 5v regulator overheating . . . the LCD puts an extra draw on it that some Arduino's can't handle long term.
