I'm printing some fingers for a prosthetic hand and the tips angle away from the base at about 30 degrees. Slic3r doesn't have a function to add supports like Cura, where ever you want. Any suggestions (except the obvious "move to Cura") ??by Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants
A follow up please. I'm having similar problems, but the smart controller seems to be working except for the SD card reader. The board is showing "card inserted" but the next screen says "no card". It seems like the controller is working otherwise. I unplugged the connections and replugged them, but still the same thing "card inserted" and then on the next screen, "no card". Confused. Been a while (6 months) since I used my Folgertech i3 Acrylic. Having to start anew as my old computer was stolen. I'm using Windows 7 and was wondering which is the best Arduino/Marlin/RepetierHost firmware combination. I have a 2004 LCD screen and would like to use it. Trying to remember which versions I was using before...not sure. Any help would be great. Thanksby Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants
Hello. I noticed that you have the same Folgertech printer I have and was wondering which version of Arduino/Marlin/RepetierHost you are currently using. My old computer was stolen and I'm having to recreate my set up. I've been out of the country for about 6 months and would like to get back to printing. I'm using Windows 7 (another old computer) and have a 2004 LCD screen. Any help will bby Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants

QuoteDjDemonD Can you video what it's doing and YouTube it? When you say it climbs up do you mean 0.3mm or more? Just to check are you sending literally G92 (current height - 0.3) or G92 Z99.7 (assuming current height is 100)? Sorry if this sounds like a silly question. There will be a delay as there is a command buffer in the firmware it will take 2-3 seconds to respond thats why I suggestedby Flyer - General
Thanks so much for the replies. I'm going to play around with it today and see what I can figure out. I'll set up a camera, and will take a few stills. I'm sure it is something simple, just can't wrap my head around it.by Flyer - General
I'm using Repetier and Marlin, and I'm still not getting the result I'm looking for. While running, I've typed in G92 Z(current height-0.3). the extruder, just climbs up and the filament keeps going??? I'm using the Z axis indicator in the manual Control screen to determine where the nozzle is on the Z axis. It seems like there is a lag time or something, but I've tried it 3 times now, and allby Flyer - General
Cool, I'll give babystepping a try.by Flyer - General
While my prints are running, I've noticed that after a while, the nozzle slowly moves closer to the surface it it printing. During small circles, it actually hesitates every few mms on the horizontal. I think that if I could just raise the nozzle .3 mm while it is printing, it would solve the problem. It looks like the filament is causing the nozzle to stall, as there are little filament "ballby Flyer - General
57 views....not one response. I drilled out the hole on the case. Never did get the knob off the board....by Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants
I'm trying to get this knob off of the switch so I can put a case around the LCD board. Knob won't budge. Must come off so I can add the case and then put the knob back in place. Hole in case requires removal of this knob...thanks.by Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants
I was 2 hours into a 4 hour print today, and I noticed an end was starting to come up on the print bed. At first I dabbed at it with a Q tip covered in ABS juice, but I couldn't get under the print without really pulling it up. I went to the closet and got out a hypodermic syringe and filled it with ABS. When the print head was as far as it would get from the spot. I paused the print, raised tby Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants
I'd like to move up to 8mm rods on the Z axis. Are there any X axis brackets on Thingiverse or elsewhere that replace the 5mm rod holes and nut holders with 8mm holes and nut holders?? thanksby Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants

Any opinions on which of the extruders on Thingiverse is "the best" for a Folgertech prusa v3??by Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants
I'm having this problem, similar to the odd circles, but this time, I tightened the print bed, but I'm still having this weird problem with the extruder. I'm not sure what is going on, any help would be appreciated. The object prints fine, except for the rear XY corner, where it seems to be extruding too much material. The other points on the object are fine, just that one corner...thoughts??by Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants
I'm getting tiny points on 2 opposing corners of my circles on my Folgertech Prusa v3. As the X axis movement transitions to the Y axis movement, it seems to make a slight pointed corner instead of a smooth transition and curve. Any thoughts? Belts seem tight, but I have no reference to determine if they are loose. Thoughts..by Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants

I've watched the video on Youtube which describes how to calculate the feedrate on my Folgertech Prusa v3. The video maker unfortunately used and LCD screen to make the adjustment. Where in Marlin can I find the default feedrate to compute the actual feedrate. I'm thinking in the config.h file, but don't know enough to go in and look without screwing things up. I tried to follow the You Tube video on the settings for the upgraded version of Slic3r, but the guy is one iteration behind. Can anyone using the latesst version with the latest version of Repetier Host on their Folgertech printer, please send me a copy of your slicer settings?? Thanks in advance.by Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants
I took my Folgertech v3 apart yesterday and hotglued the nuts into the X axis mounts. Today, they managed to come out again. I'm missing something. I tried to put springs between 2 M5 nuts on each Z axis drive rods, but then, the nuts, and the springs just popped out. The problem is that when they slip out of the X axis bracket, they can't drive the bracket up and down for Z axis commands. Cby Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants
OK, let's here it for Aqua Net! Not sure why, and I hope it will last, but I've printed out a couple of parts now and besides the little 3mm holes, things seem to be printing OK. Still a long way to go...by Flyer - Prusa i3 and variants

My first test print, a little postage sized stamp file, using PLA came out fine. But then, print after print after print of the same file, it just isn't printing. I've move the extrusion temp up, and down. I've moved the bed temp up and down. I've moved from PLA to ABS and still the same issue. It seems that the filament won't lay down onto the surface.
