I can no longer edit my previous post, so I’ll make a new one. I tried to heat the hotend one last time before changing the cables as DragonFire suggested. And to my surprise it worked. I have managed to get some prints done without getting heating issues. It seems like it is kind of random, or maybe some component is about to die. Will keep testing.by felystar - General
QuoteDragonFire You should measure the resistance of the heating element. If it is infinite, then that component has failed. One other way to test is to swap around the heating element wires between printhead and heated bed, and also the temperature sensor wires for the printhead and heated bed. If the fault now effects the heated bed, and the heated bed doesn't get warm, then the fault is withby felystar - General
Hello guys, I have recently finished building a RepRap Prusa i3 Hephestos. I printed some objects and it worked well at the beginning. However, when I printed a radial fan adapter to mount the layer fan on the E3D fan and installed it, I started getting “E1 Heating Failed” errors. Thad fan installation was the only thing that I changed, so I removed it, but that did not solve the issue. After seby felystar - General
I don’t know if you still need help, but that happened to me and I needed to adjust the reference voltage in the motor drivers. Here is a tutorial:by felystar - RAMPS Electronics
I have finished building of the printer and it works OK with the Nema 17HS13-0404S motors. I have adjusted the current of each motor to 80% of 0.4 A (0.32 A) to prevent overheating them and the printer works really good. Hope to help anyone interested.by felystar - Mechanics
Thank you both. I will try to use them to build the 3D printer and will update this post with results!!by felystar - Mechanics
Quotedekutree64 The link isn't working, but from a search of the model number they are 34mm length? I have that size (used Shinano-Kenshi sold by tony34306 on ebay) on my SCARA printer and they seem plenty powerful. 400mA is about the maximum current before they start getting hotter than I'd like. The extruder works the hardest (Creality style non-geared extruder). I haven't tested the maximum thby felystar - Mechanics
Hello, I bought a set of 4 Nema 17 17HS13-0404S motors when I was starting to build my 3D printer, but now I am afraid maybe these are not powerful enough to make it work. These are the specs of the motors: https://www.oyostepper.com/images/upload/File/17HS13-0404S.pdf Can someone help me find out if they will actually work? I would like to know before I decide to buy another pack of motors...by felystar - Mechanics
Hello guys, I have a Ramps 1.4 setup and yesterday I was measuring the voltage that A4988 was giving to the motor because they were not moving and I accidentally shorted the Vmot and GND pins. The Mega is working fine because I tested with the Blink example, and the Ramps kind of too. The only problem is that on the 5A rail the measure of the voltage coming from the supply is around 100mV.
