Hi dc42 Ok here is what's going on. Currently I have a Printrbot that has been modified to have a 10" x 10" x 10" print area. It works great for larger objects but when switching to some small it has a little problem. The accuracy could be better. So I'm replacing the Printrboard with the RAMPS 1.4 setup. Currently the electronics sit in a box at the end of the printer. This box has the followby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
Thank you everyone. All in all it sounds like it is more trouble than it's worth. Right now I just turn everything on with a switch. Just means that some of the fans and lights run all the time, no big deal I just figured if it was possible why not! thanks againby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
got it thanks, all is well now, up and running. thanks againby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
Ok, I think I'm going to need something a little simpler if you don't mind. It's been a very long time since I've looked at anything except a resistor symbol. On the RAMPS 1.4 board I have "S - +", so what goes to what? Is it : Brown goes to "S" Black to "+" Blue to "-" ? I know that I may want to replace this with a NC device and I may have to add the voltage divider. But it's workinby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
Turns out I guess someone else thought about it a long time ago. Look at M355 I'm guessing it's for CNC.........by kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
I'm new to the RAMPS 1.4 board and I'm wondering if one of the AUX sets of pins could be used to activate a 5V relay? Currently the 5V relay is used to activate led lights and fans whenever the printer is turned on so they run all the time. I was thinking that it would be nice to only have the motor fans and led's powered on when the printer is printing. I know it's easier to leave well enougby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
I think my confusion come from my current sensor plugs into the Printrboard without the voltage divider. So I'm thinking that it is running off of 5V instead of the 12V the voltage divider takes. Looking at the Printrbot web page I see now they added a divider circuit (when needed). They say to try it first then add the circuit if it does not work. Or I could just go ahead and add the circuitby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
I'm replacing a Printrboard with a RAMPS 1.4 board. I've become a confused about the wiring for the sensor. The sensor that I'm using is the LJ12A3-4/BY unit. It is a PNP type, with a supply voltage of 6-36V, current output is 300ma. Most of the information that I have been reading talks of a voltage divider, but the sensor used on the Printrboard does not have one. So I'm not sure what to dby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
I'm not 100% sure this will work but it's worth a try. I'm also using (RAMPS 1.4 + Mega 2560 R3 + 5pcs A4988 stepstick + 2004 LCD ) If the 2004 LCD is the "REPRAP_DSCOUNT_SMART_CONTROLLER", then I think it might work // Define your display language below. Replace (en) with your language code and uncomment. // en, pl, fr, de, es, ru, it, pt, pt-br, fi, an, nl, ca, eu // See also language.h //#deby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
As it turns out "pins.h" looks for a board type an in my case calls "pins_ RAMPS_13,g" "pins_RAMPS_13" checks the display type and in the case of the "reprap discount smart controller" sets it to a "Kill" switch. thanks for the helpby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
The photo is just dark, it's actually red. Anyway, I must have missed it in the firmware, right now it does not do anything. A searching I will go..... thanksby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
Hello I'm new on here so please bear with me. I've recently purchased the Arduino Mega2560, RAMPS 1.4 boards along with the reprap discount smart controller. I have the basic components working and I've attached 2 thermistor and the display but that's all right now, other parts are on order. The display works, buzzer works, and push button knob works. What I'm curious about it the other redby kd6hq - RAMPS Electronics
