I'm having issues figuring endstops out as well. I have yet to connect them as I'm afraid to ruin something. I'm using Ramps 1.4 with marlin on it. I have the Mechanical Endstops v1.2 as shown on all the images in this thread. I have the wiring figured out and learned the Vcc might Work, or not, depending on quality. I had the same issue and the seller of my Mega 2560 believed it to be the 16000 crystal placed close to the USB port on the Mega 2560 board. They said they sometimes saw this if the crystal was too close to the pcb or if excessive solder was used. Mine was flush up against the PCB. I redid he soldering job but had no change. The L led on the Mega had a steady light, as did the PWM led. Seller saby dintid - RAMPS Electronics
I've had some issues with my new, never used Mega 2560 r3 + Ramps 1.4 combo. The Mega 2560 died and I'm not sure why. Ramsp was stacked on Mega. I connected 12V inputs to ramps and then USB to Mega. Mega didn't show up on my PC - it did a few minutes earlier without the Ramps. I had nothing connected to the Ramps 1.4 except both input powerlines which I triple checked many times.
