I need help with a simple solution for heater faults. I have a Duet 0.6 with Firmware 1.18.1. Panel Due with firmware 1.16. And DWC 1.15a. When I first started up the newly flashed system I was able to heat up the hotend to 50 C before I got a heater fault. Now I cannot heat it up at all. System was working fine before the firmware update. I have tried using the M303 commands. Added a smallby DRTak - Duet
Updated PanelDue firmware to version 1.16. Nice STOP button in the left upper corner. Great work DC42 Updated web interface from 1.11 to 1.15a. Could not connect to Kossel Duet 0.6 with firmware 1.14 via web interface. Tried everything but couldnt figure it out until I did a forum search. I had to upgrade my Duet 0.6 firmware to 1.18.1. Now I have to test out my system and refigure out PID andby DRTak - Duet
So far as an enclosure goes.... I had so many smell issues with ABS that I couldnt stand it anymore. I made a very large external enclosure for my Kossel. It worked well on small prints. I completetly enclosed the printer. My prints looked amazing since there was no air around to cool the prints too fast and it got nice and hot inside. David, Thanks for the quick reply. I will start by upgrading my PanelDue. I really need the Emergency stop button on the LCD screen. With the older firmware of 1.14 there is no button. And the web interface disconnects. When that happens, I cannot shut off the machine via software.by DRTak - Duet

Well nylon appears to be similar to PETG. I think I might have thermal creep issues when printing super long prints. At about 2 hours into a print my printer jams. I had to take apart the hotend and noted that plastic was stuck in the hotend. Also, I think there might be some thermal expansion of the nylon filament as it enters into the heatsink preventing it from moving deeper into the heating eby DRTak - Delta Machines
I have been testing this Hexagon Hotend with Nylon 230. The Nylon is listed at 200-230 C but I have not had luck at that temp. I have tried 240, 245, and 250 but I get rough prints. Tried 260, 265 and looks better. Most promising so far are prints at 270 and 275. Ive increased the print speed to 50mm/s and increased the retraction to 4mm. What gets me about the makerbot is that it only prints in PLA? The main reason I wanted a Kossel or similar is the ability to print in more than just PLA which is very friable and brittle. And the Makerbot is over $1500.by DRTak - Delta Machines
Yes. I have experienced all of that. My kossel is completely different. I have replaced all of the pla parts with metal. The only original Kossel Sintron part is the extruder motor holder. That works just fine for now. Otherwise, my machine is all metal including the effector. It is true what Sintron said. It does work when you buy it. But it is not accurate. Update on my Sintron Kossel with Hexagon Hot end and Duet 0.6. I decided to upgrade the firmware to 1.15 on the Duet and it was a mess. I have reverted back to 1.14 for the duet 0.6. However, I did not backup my /SYS files. So I had to figure out what went wrong the last time I printed. It was near the end of a 5hr print the print would be very weak and bubbly. Its been awhile since I used my Kossel with DC42 IR sensor, Duet 0.6, and PanelDue 4.3" touch screen. I ran into some trouble with it after doing a firmware update. This is my story to help others. I updated my firmware to the Duet 0.6 successfully to 1.15c. But when I bootted the system up it would only say Starting up on the Paneldue firmware 1.14. I thought it was broken. Update. I have been working with the Hexagon Hotend now for several weeks. I think its a great hotend with PLA. However, since its an all metal hotend with NO PTFE liner it has issues with thermal creep with PETG filament. Different brands of PETG have different temps. I am using LD PETG. They no longer make this product and I think I know why. The temp is 265. The high end of spectrum. At this tby DRTak - Delta Machines

Hacker, thanks for the info and research. The Hexagon doesnt have PTFE liner in it. Thats why I bought it. Its really all metal. I bought a hobby drill set. It has a 0.4mm bit. I pushed it into the nozzle and the nozzle is clear. And I think you are right. Eventually I would have had to deal with this issue. It was just a matter of time. Quotedc42 You have the extruder current set to just 500mA, which is very low especially as you have an un-geared extruder. It's the E500 parameter in the M906 command. Try increasing it to E1000 or E1200. What is the specification of your extruder stepper motor? I do not know what the extruder is. Sintron claims its a MK8. But then on their ebay ad, they say its a modified NEMA 17. I assumeby DRTak - Delta Machines
Quotedc42 All the currents default to zero in RepRapFirmware, so you must be setting the extruder current somewhere. Typically you would have a line in config.g something like M906 X1000 Y1000 X1000 E1000. If you run M906 with no parameters, it will report what the currents are set to.
