Hey all, I have a fully functioning (minus the power supply, damn 220V!) Prusa that I'm trying to get rid of. I'll be moving back to the US in a few weeks and don't wan't to deal with shipping it. If anyone is interested in it, please make me an offer. I used CA gel (thick super glue) and it's held up great so far.by loheiman - General Mendel Topics
I think this problem could be mitigated by reducing the gap between the beginning and end of each perimeter layer. Mine is often 1mm or more. Any ideas on how to close this gap? Does it have to do with extruder retraction settings? It seems like I need more perimeter overlap but i dont see any settings for that in skeinforge.by loheiman - Skeinforge
Definitely needs an arduino, that's the A in RAMPS. I believe 2560's are most popular but i think you can also use 1280's.by loheiman - Controllers
Ok, good to know. Then in that case, I think i'll try to print one myself and see how it goes. If i can't get it to turn out well, I'll be back! thanks.by loheiman - For Sale

Make sure you put the SFACT folder in the Printrun folder but rename SFACT to "skeinforge"by loheiman - Skeinforge
Can you print in ABS?by loheiman - For Sale

that's an option also. i think i rather modify the wooden mounting bracket than the extruder so that my hot end/extruder is centered rather than offset to the left. As it is now, my prusa only gets about 180mm of X travel before the extruder's motor bracket runs into my X side idler.by loheiman - General

Prusa requires 5 motors because the Z axis requires 2 motors. I use a RAMPS 1.3 that has two motor connectors on the Z stepper driver, but if the board doesn't have 2 headers can just connect the motors together before going into the board (doubling up the motors on one stepper driver).by loheiman - General Mendel Topics

If they > are compatible with your hot end I will definitely > look into it. I have a makergear hot end and am wanting to upgrade to greg's hinged extruder. It's not plug and play, you'll have to do a little bit of drillinby loheiman - General

ReprapLtd (run by Adrian Bowyer himself) prints all their prusa parts for sale from PLA. That says something.by loheiman - General Mendel Topics
As far as I know, RAMPS is the only electronics platform that supports SD printing. You can get RAMPS boards + SD reader from ultimatchineby loheiman - General

Makergear hot ends seem to be very popular, that's what I ordered for my Prusa.by loheiman - Reprappers

I think i'll bundle 2 or 3 sets of wires for a heated bed if/when I get one. Thanks.by loheiman - General Mendel Topics
I dont have any coding or electronics skills but I have an old HTC Dream/Tmobile G1 that would make for a great screen/controller! Would love to be able to contribute in others ways...by loheiman - Controllers

Most PSUs do have a power on/off button on the backside. I think the easiest way is to connect the green and ground permanently and use that to turn it on and off. Make sure to short the red & black together before working on it!by loheiman - General Mendel Topics
As much as i like the idea of someone starting RepRap in a new territory, why not enjoy Puerto Rico rather than cooping yourself up in a room building a RepRap?by loheiman - General
