I'm a bit busy to take part in any of the fun at the moment, but there is a venue called "Bristol and Bath Science Park" who will allow "community" events for free, if after hours and we ask nicely. It's being used in August for the "Raspberry Jam" event about the Raspberry Pi. There is a nice open cafe area and plenty of space/power and probably wifi. If anyone wants to try and organise somethinby max_allan - West of England RUG
I can bring a projector if someone else can bring a white wall to point it at... As far as "offering" anything, I think it's just about learning from each other's mistakes. Share the joy!by max_allan - West of England RUG
I hope to be there. Let me know if you need any chillis. I have a range of strengths from "dangerous" to "need a government health warning".by max_allan - West of England RUG
A good evening all around, even if I couldn't drink any beer :-( . Thanks to Doug for the chili and Rich for the filament samples.by max_allan - West of England RUG
Now that work issues are resolved, I can make it tomorrow. I will try to bring my prusa, if not, at least my limited knowledge and experience! Nobody else has posted here yet to say they're going. Hopefully this will be the catalyst that stops you all thinking "I'm only going if someone else says they're going first"! Anyone wanting to come but stuck for transport from anywhere between Chippenby max_allan - West of England RUG
Vizion seems to have disappeared... What sort of get together do people want? An evening in a pub where enthusiasts simply turn up and bring machines/bits/questions/answers A weekend afternoon in a free venue for people to turn up A weekend afternoon in a proper venue(costing money), guest speakers, local suppliers... Something completely different... I think somewhere near the M4/M5 interchby max_allan - West of England RUG
Hi All, I've been thinking about a machine to recycle old/bad prints and maybe other plastics that you find around the rubbish bin. Basically something along the lines of a small meat grinder with a heated nozzle. For simplicity I was thinking of using a large drill bit in an accurate (reamed) tube being rotated backwards (used as an archimedes screw to push the contents toward the tip ratherby max_allan - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
