Just so this isn't left unanswered, I can confirm I am okay. I closed the business over a year ago now and haven't really been following the printing scene since. Glad to hear you got everything sorted though Jan.by stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
Sounds good Rob, but shame about your printer! I should be easy to find - I've had a large banner made up with my logo on it, so just keep an eye out for that while you walk around.by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Hi there twisted! It seems to be rather quiet around these parts at the moment. I'd invite you to show off your printer at my workshop, but I'm down in Exeter, so might be a bit far for you. In other news (and to hijack this thread a little) I've got a stand at Maker Faire in Newcastle this weekend! (bringing the thread back on topic) so if anyone is heading up we could do a mini meetup there.by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Hey abdulla, I've sent you a PM. As for this thread, workshop doors are open most days for anyone interested!by stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
Mike, Thanks a lot for that! You really did give the site a good going over. Next time I'll have to pay you for such things! I'll be incorporating your feedback later today.by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Good to hear folks here are still busying themselves! Got a bit quiet over the Christmas period. I'm still busy slowing growing my business, but it's getting there. I'm currently in the process of updating all my documentation for kit assembly, with a full photographic guide. If any of you have a bit of spare time I'd really appreciate it if you could have a quick look over it. I'm adding a pagby stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Jan, I'm going to say at this point it's probably a better idea to not worry about coming to Exeter tomorrow. As nobody else is able to attend, and I have some pretty urgent matters to deal with, I'm afraid I simply won't be able to be at the workshop long enough to make it worthwhile. If you are able to, then visiting at some point during the week would be a better idea. I can then spend a gooby stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
Nothing to worry about Paul, hope your day goes well!by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Jan, There is a workshop planned for this Saturday. It's going to be pretty quiet though - Only two people have told me they will be able to make it. You are more than welcome to come along to that if you can get to Exeter. If you are interested let me know and I'll give you the details. Stewart.by stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
No problems all. I will look to arrange one in the new year, when hopefully people have a bit more free time on their hands. Hamish, that sounds a good idea, not something I had really thought about. I shall see what I can do for next time.by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Paul, the site has indeed been going very slowly recently. My offer of this Saturday - the 24th - is still open. I'll be there regardless, but so far there hasn't been much interest. Stewart.by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Well, I have an initial date of Saturday 24th, from around 10am until no later than 7:30pm. How does that sound?by stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
Paul, will do as soon as I have it! It will most likely be Saturday 24th however. Times will be from around 10am to 7:30pm at the latest. Edit: Realised you were asking where, as well as when. I should have said - it will be at my workshop in Exeter.by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
It's been quite quiet in here recently! Time to change that. I'm planning on organising a workshop down my way some time in the next few weeks. I've put the word out on the Devon users group to see if there is any interest there, but I'm wondering if anyone here would like to come down on a Saturday in a few weeks time to get some help with their printer.by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Greetings Devon RepRappers. I think a few of you already know me, but for those that don't I run a small business selling repraps and providing support for them. I'm interested in running some workshops on a semi-regular basis - free of charge - to anyone that is either having problems getting their printer working (regardless of where you got it from) or just want to come and have a look at whby stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
I will be available to host another meet down in Exeter some time in October, if there is interest. I've also finally managed to get my website properly online, and I'm hoping to run workshops on a regular basis (not just for you guys, but for anyone in the local area.) You can have a quick read about my finally live site over here: where there is a discount code for RepRappers.by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Printed Worlds is now open for business! I've been selling RepRap kits locally for a while, and I have now set up a proper web store to reach a wider audience. We are selling Prusa Mendel i2 kits for £500 All kits include the following: * Printed parts, in colour of your choice. -- (Subject to availability – currently we only have white, but more choice coming soon!) * Hardware kit -by stewartstarbuck - For Sale
I've just checked my couplers (I'm also using Nopheads design) and it appears I've had the same issue as Nealeb - The tube is getting squashed and slightly deformed. I'm printing some new ones out now, making the gap slightly larger. Will let you know how that goes. Been looking through Marlin as was suggested as well, not yet got my printers running it, but should have news to report on that frby stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Snout, I've sent you a PM regarding parts. Glad you enjoyed the meet up Kev, if you have any more questions about anything you saw feel free to ask away. I'll start organising the next one soon, and will let you know the details when I have them.by stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
Thanks to everyone that made their way to Exeter yesterday! For those that are interested I'm quite happy to host meetups again in the future. I have plenty of cake recipes, so I can make sure you get a different lunch each time!by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Greetings snout. I'd me more than happy to sell you a set of printed parts, along with anything else you might need. Most people go with the Prusa Mendel to start out with - it's quite probably the most common RepRap out there. The standard setup for a Prusa is to use NEMA17 steppers - You need 5 of them for the Prusa. Let me know if you are interested!by stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
Realised I should probably let you all know that I am still alive, and confirm that everything is still good for this weekend. As there is a hard finish time of 7:30pm (else we risk getting locked in the building) I am still deciding on what to do with regards to food. I have lunch organised, but depending on what time people leave I think a take away of some sort will likely have to do for dinnby stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
You had me confused for a minute there Hamish, misread 'BigDoug' for a company name very close to it, from whom I've just taken receipt of a large number of shelving units from. Not to blow my own trumpet too much, but I've finally dragged my website kicking and screaming into the light, currently made up just of blog posts about my recent move to Exeter and into the new workshop. If you fancy sby stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Just checked train times, and I can happily make the 14th as long as you are finished (or don't mind me leaving) by around 8pm, so I can get the train back home! I'll need PMing the address. Stewart.by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Huw, and others. As stated, the date of the meet up is Saturday 28th July. No specific start time currently, just turn up whenever! My address is: Unit 30 Exeter Business Centre 39 Marsh Green Road West Exeter EX2 8PN You should indeed be able to build the plastic RepRap parts on that RepMan, but if you need somewhere to source all the other parts I might just know someone that can provide tby stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
Sweaving, I'm sure you'd be more than welcome to come along to events with your cupcake. I myself have both a cupcake and Thing-o-Matic (In both cases I have fairly early machines, getting in the first batch of the ToM), and while I much prefer the RepRaps over them, they are still usable machines. Regarding fire safety and such, everything is well covered for that down at my end (as part of myby stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Kevin, If you read 2 posts above yours, then you will see that there is indeed someone in Exeter. That person might just be me! I'd be happy to help you out with any questions or such you might have, just give me a buzz. Stewart.by stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
Hello there! I'm not sure if you guys keep an eye out next door in the West of England RUG, but in case you don't I thought I'd post here. I'm hosting a meetup for said WoERUG in Exeter (They often meet much further north) on Saturday 28th July, and all are welcome. I run a business based around RepRaps from Exeter, so if anyone is local to here and need some help or advice I'm always happy toby stewartstarbuck - Devon RepRap User Group
Well, as that is a few of you that can't do the 21st, how about the week after? Saturday 28th. Would that be more suitable for you Rob and Hamish?by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
Well if it's just a case of throwing down a date, here is one for an Exeter meet: Saturday 21st July. As I said above, the workshop is open between 7:30am - 8pm, but I don't expect to see too many of you at the crack of dawn! Stewart.by stewartstarbuck - West of England RUG
