It may be that your Ender 3 display does not have a buzzer.von oliof - Safety & Best Practices
yes it is heavy, but one has to work with what one has. the 8mm OD shaft is breaking the bank though, I will likely need to plan differently.von oliof - Tech-Talk
@rq3 would a hollow shaft stepper like the OMC 17HS13-1504H be an option? ID of the shaft is 4mm, I'm thinking of a PTFE tube insert (OD 4mm/ID 2mm) to constrain the filament better ...von oliof - Tech-Talk
There was a paper in 2016 about a laser assisted hotend. At the time it was able to reach 1000mm/s when slapped on a relatively cheap i3 style clone. . has a couple figures. has a demo video.von oliof - Tech-Talk
To follow up on Obelisk, a very common i3 clone has a Y carriage made of steel sheet, the replacement carriage from aluminum by a well known supplier shaves off about 170g from the total bed weight (could be 200ish if you replace the original 4 point mount aluminum bed with a 3 point mount one because then you can get rid of a mounting bar). Replacing the glass print surface with a magnetic flexvon oliof - Mechanics
There _are_ (commercial/industrial) large format printers. BigRep have their main offices walking distance from where I live, and that's just one option.von oliof - Mechanics
I really like Schneckstruder as the name. Now the question: How can engineering-challenged people like me get one?von oliof - Tech-Talk

Great! I just acquired a beat-up Ormerod 1 and would like to give it a once over. And it looks like you did all the heavy lifting already (-:von oliof - Ormerod
Hey Wes, did you publish your work anywhere for curious minds?von oliof - Ormerod
It's possible the control board has failing components. Especially if heated bed and hotend temperature raise uncontrollably, it's a sign the mosfets are blown.von oliof - Ormerod
Thread necromancy! I have rebuilt @Apsu s Tripteron prototype and intend to implement the kinematics in RepRap Firmware. It'll be a while, maybe the patent expired until then (-:von oliof - Look what I made!
