Hi,
I just moved to the DFW area (north Fort Worth). Are there any groups which meet regularly in the area?
Thanks

FYI - In case someone else comes across this. It appears to have been a wiring issue. The problem went away after I replaced the wires from the stepper motor to the RAMPS board.

I have a problem that I haven't been able to figure out. When I send "G28" to my Mini Kossel, then the three carriages should all move up to the end stop. However one of the carriages (driven by the y stepper) moves and then vibrates a little ways away from the end stop. If I send G28 a second time, then that stepper moves in the opposite direction!

You can get the ATX power supply and a fan out of an old PC. You can also find end stops from a computer mouse.
Here is a similar thread that I started in a different forum:

I had a similar problem.
The solution was simply that I needed to click "Ok" in the Manual Control tab of Repetier Host before I could do anything.
For some unknown reason Repetier Host would always start up with pending commands. Click "Ok" sends those commands. After that the program worked like I expected.
(You should be able to set your baud rate to 250000 and it will work fine for Arduino

Hi guys,
I put up a free online converter here:
It converts some common 3D model formats to .STL. Optionally, it will also render an image of your new .STL file.
Let me know if there is anything that I can do to improve the converter, or make it more useful.
Thanks.

Hi Pascal,
I'm building the Mini Kossel right now too. Good luck on your project.

Hi Dylan,
From what I understand, once you start extruding a type of filament then you are locked into that material, because there is no easy way to clean out an extrusion machine. The nozzle and auger assembly would have to be replaced for each type of material/color. This could add up quickly. These parts (and possibly others) would have to be changed for every type of material.

Hi Developing,
Someone printed some parts for me recently to build my first printer. I would be happy to do that too when I finish my printer. You are probably aware that the 3d printed parts only make up 10% or so of the price right. If you have the rest of the parts already then you might check out the Delta 3d Printers Google Group, which is where I found plastic parts.

This sounds interesting Alex. I'm interested in building a ultra high speed large area printer at some point. You should post some photos for us to see your creation.

Hi guys,
I just finished building a Lyman v3 extrusion machine. I'm now starting on building a Kossel Mini delta 3d printer. I live in Tacoma, but I might drive up to Seattle or down to Olympia for events. So far I've had trouble finding any recurring 3d printing related groups/events in the area.
