Thx for the tipp.. just did a quick check and also rewired the ground connection .. no luck, even worse, now windows doesn't recognize the printer anymore I am away on vacation now for two weeks, hope I have the right thought what to do next when I am back.von gribble - Mendel90
Today I did some more testing... When I started the printer the raspberry pi didn't start. I normally power the pi from the same PSU as the printer. So i unplugged the pi from the power supply. I connected the printer to my PC and was able to connect it with pronterface. I can move the heatbed and the printhead, was able to heat it to 185C and extrude some plastic. But when I try to heat the hevon gribble - Mendel90
My Mendel90 was not in use for about 1.5years and finally I wanted to use my 3d printer again. I use the printer with octoprint and was able to connect to the printer, move the nozzle, heat it up and extract PLA... so far so good. Then I started heating the heatbed and everything froze So I had to turn it off and on again. I connected the printer to my PC and tried to use printrun (still the vvon gribble - Mendel90
Sorry for the late response. After changing the screw terminal everything works fine again Thx alot Quotehttp://reprap.org/wiki/Melzi Melted screw terminals Sometimes, the screw terminals on a Melzi melt. More often than not, it's the bed terminal, and is due to the wire being poorly connected, ie loose in the screw terminal. It can also cause the MOSFET to fail, as it cannot dissipate heatvon gribble - Mendel90

Hi, I got back to 3d printing after nearly a year a few days ago. My first prints went fine but today I have a problem and no clue how to solve it I still use printrun and when i start printing, my nophead mendel90 moves to the home position on all three axes just fine. Then it starts moving down the z axis and shortly after it starts moving down only one z axis motor works and the other one sevon gribble - Mendel90
Just a qick question: Is it safe to use the +5V and GND cables coming from the PSU directly to power the Raspberry Pi?von gribble - Mendel90
I just did three 30/30/45 prints with the fan housing removed and the temperature at 200° ... no problem at all and the prints are very fine. But it's a little bit colder here today thx again for the suggestion... will see when i print something longer, but so far I am happyvon gribble - Mendel90
thx for the suggestions. Will try to print without the fan housing first. If it's no success I will try a fan and/or change the fan housing so it blows up and not down. Maybe i can modell something like that (never really tried 3d modelling software so far).von gribble - Mendel90
In letzter Zeitvon gribble - Extruder, Hotends & verschiedene Materialien
Lately the "buckling up" of my filament, jamming the extruder and therefore not finishing the prints are happening quite often Any idea how I can solve this issue. It's not everytime I print. Sometimes it just happens ~10 minutes into the print, sometimes I can just print fine (1.5h was the biggest I printed recently without a problem). But lately it jammed more than it prints fine If I notivon gribble - Mendel90

thx for all the help. I removed the hotend from the PTFE and then I pushed the filament out of the tube ... now everything works fine again.von gribble - Mendel90
I just a similar problem after I tried printing again after a month. Extruder gear turned fine but there was no plastic coming out of the hotend. So i took the extruder apart and saw that the plastic was "buckled" above the hotend. I tried to turn the heat back on and remove the filament manually from the hotend. But in the end the filament broke and now the hotened is filled with filament. I trvon gribble - Mendel90

Oh man ... I am soooo f****ing stupid. I just double checked everything and had a quick look at the configuration.h . Just to notice, that i used "," instead of "." as a decimal point. Changed it to "." and everything works fine.... at least the extruder moves like it should now. Now I have to mount everything back again and try to print so sorry for wasting anyones timevon gribble - Mendel90
Hmm.. I just check the resistance on the melzi connectors for all the motors (with the printer turned off). There are all around 2.4 ohm (except the z-motors in series), When i check the e-motor director on the little pcb board connectors i get around 2.2-2.4 ... but I really don't have the best device.von gribble - Mendel90
Hey, I just finished the mendel90 kit form nophead today .. did all the testing without problems, levelled the bed and calibrated the extruder and the z home point as good as i could (and uploaded the firmware with the new settings) :-) Then I wanted to do the first according to the build manual.
