Skirt: around the object, not touching - Used to prime the extruder Brim: around the object, connected to it - Used to help with adhesion Raft: under the object - greatly improves adhesion, but at a price (time & material) Your brims look like mine when the print bed isn't properly calibrated - too much space between bed and nozzle, the extruded material isn't hitting the bed in melted phasevon rainerunsinn - Prusa i3 and variants
I am also a new owner of an A8-B labelled printer. - The board might be compatible to melzi, but it definitely doesn't look like one. My board is labelled Anet V1.0; I didn't dare to update the firmware yet - and I didn't see the need to yet, either - I had a thermistor connection issue, but it came down to a single badly crimped wire at the end of the thermistor thread (at the plug to the boardvon rainerunsinn - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi broy55, is this for Melzi board, or Anet3d V1 board, or are the two compatible? Thank you!von rainerunsinn - Reprappers
@pilyugin I found it: the plug from the thermistor wires is somehow bent: I pulled the wires from it and stuck them directly into the male plug - worked with next power-up. @MKSA I know it is cheap crap, but I wanted to spend as little money as possible for the first walking attempts. Your comment wasn't helpful at all for the question. Rainervon rainerunsinn - Prusa i3 and variants
Dear all, excuse a newbie for crying out for help, but I tried searching this forum and google and did not succeed. I just got my Chinese Anet3d A8 printer kit delivered (my very first, very cheap to start with), and Anet is kind enough to post a video of first checks of the electronics in YouTube (https://youtu.be/6W2GuwgPIkI) which I followed. All seemed fine (all motors turning as expected),von rainerunsinn - Prusa i3 and variants
