Maybe you should add a hint in post #1 about the Arduino version range... so far it just says >= 1.0.1 ... that would include 1.6.x as well. Thank you very much for your patience =)....and of course the work you have done on the firmware itself! P.S. : and it´s finally working =)von D4RK1 - Mendel90
300mA is what it says on the data sheet, I ordered this sensor : Would it be ok to connect the 12V of the sensor to one of the heater terminals? I guess it should also be possible to add another wire (servo cable for example) and guide it along the ribbon cable if you expect problems when the GND connection is shared. Wouldn´t look so neat thoughvon D4RK1 - Mendel90
Well, I encountered the same problem =) I guess you will be encountering another one soon, if you want to print the wades block. You might realize that there seem to be errors in the stl. The holes for the hobbed bolt are closed. This is intentional, you need to cut the hole afterwards. Regards, Jensvon D4RK1 - Mendel90
Hi, go back to : and click on "Download ZIP" on the lower right. This will download everything. Regards, Jensvon D4RK1 - Mendel90
Hi, I have been searching through the Mendel90 section and haven´t been able to find a thread where this has been discussed already. So I am opening a new one. After upgrading my Mendel90 to Neils Firmware, it should be now capable of doing the Auto Bed Leveling. My understanding of electronics is quite limited, but watching Thomas Sanladerers video about the topic made it look manageable. Fvon D4RK1 - Mendel90
I am using the most recent version available, which is 1.6.1 I did what was mentioned in the steps in post #1, copied the respective folders including their contents to the specified locations, other folders I left untouched. Do I need to copy additional folders or do I need to get my hands on a 1.0.6 version of Arduino?von D4RK1 - Mendel90
Hi Neil, I checked the Preferences in Arduino : Sketchbook Location is : C:\Users\D4RK1\Documents\Arduino so I´d say it´s the same. The folder locations above I directly copied from the adress field of my explorer ... which would suggest that Windows uses the right folder. It´s a little weird, because when I choose File --> Sketchbook it shows the Marlin and it shows libraries under which Ivon D4RK1 - Mendel90
Ok, then I will try it with the original folders again, thank you. Good to know I am not the only one who manages to bungle a 6 step installation But if I create folders under /User/Documents/Arduino, Arduino.exe from c:/program files/Arduino will still use them? Or do I need to point it towards them somehow? Jens *EDIT* Unfortunately still no joy.... I read through the entire post and trvon D4RK1 - Mendel90
Quotenophead To get good bridging you need to print filament with a cross sectional area a bit smaller than the circular cross section you get when extruding the filament into mid air. That means it has to stretch lengthwise and so is under tension. That would mean bridging a little faster while extruding the same amount, or reducing the amount of extruded material at the same speed? Is there avon D4RK1 - Mendel90
Hi, I am currently printing spare parts for my dibond Mendel90 as well. I am using PETG filament for it and in essence I am quite happy with the results. There is only one issue I´d like to get rid off. When I print bridges , for example for the wades block, or the Z-clamps, the first bridge layer tends to sag a little, is there a way to keep that from happening? I hope bridging is the correctvon D4RK1 - Mendel90
Hi, I also added the bed fan to my mendel90 and it works nicely, but every time I switch on the printer, the bed fan is started with it. Can I change that? And if yes, how? I used the method described above for the sanguinolulo (and nopheads comments to apply it to the melzi) Jens *Edit* I just switched the printer off and on and the fan wasn´t running this time... weirdvon D4RK1 - Mendel90
Hi Neil, thank you for your reply, the Arduino.exe itself is installed at c:\programme\Arduino\ (I used the Windows Installer and that was the default it used). Since you explicitly wrote to copy the files to the User\Documents folder I did that. The Installer created an Arduino folder there, so I assumed everything was as it should be. Or is the procedure from post #1 only valid if the Arduinovon D4RK1 - Mendel90
Hi, I bought a Mendel90 from nophead a while ago and now I would like to use the firmware update by Neil Darlow. I tried following the steps from the first post, but when I try to set the type of board the "Melzi W/ Atmega 1284p 16mHz" isn´t available. Does anyone know where I went wrong? When I followed the instructions above I had to create the hardware folder under Documents/Arduino, don´t kvon D4RK1 - Mendel90
