Noch mal ein Nachtrag - wie mir eben bestätigt wurde ist das RAMPS-Board wohl defekt und wird ausgetauscht. Fabber-Parts hat da sehr korrekt agiert, bislang bin ich mit der Abwicklung voll zufrieden.

Würde ich gerne ausprobieren, habe das Board aber gerade nicht da. Da die Kommunikation auch mit nur aufgestecktem RAMPS nicht funktioniert hat (auch ohne Display und ohne Pololus) bin ich von einem Defekt ausgegangen. Und ja, auch den Treiber aus dem Arduino 023 habe ich ausprobiert. Aber wenn das Board nicht mal mit der mitgelieferten Firmware läuft (eben nur mit abgezogenen RAMPS ansprechbar

Eine grüne LED auf dem Ramps-Board blinkt zwei Mal, dann leuchtet sie dauerhaft grün. Dann passiert nix mehr bis der Upload in einen Timeout läuft (dauert etliche Minuten). Ich habe eben mal den Arduino vom Ramps getrennt, mit dem kann ich mich problemlos mit Pronterface verbinden, mit jeder Menge Fehlermeldungen weil ihm ja seine Hardware fehlt, aber offenbar schon mit der aufgespielten Firmwar

Wenn ich das Board einstecke, dann ist der COM-Port da. Das Kabel ist in Ordnung, damit habe ich normalerweise die GEN6 angeschlossen, und bei dem Test mit dem XP-Rechner habe ich ein anderes Kabel verwendet, selbes Phänomen. Es tut sich ja auch was wenn ich versuche die Firmware hochzuladen - auf dem Board geht dann eine grüne LED an, also scheint da irgendwas zu funktionieren. Nur klappt eben

RAMPS 1.4, laut Display von Reprapdiscount.com, gekauft bei Fabber-parts. Ok, wenn da noch ein Treiber fehlt dann kann es ja nicht gehen. Aber der Treiber aus dem /Drivers-Verzeichnis vom Arduino hat ja schon einen Com-Port erzeugt, bekomme ich dann noch einen?

Ist das ein anderer Treiber als der Arduino-Treiber unter /Drivers ? Da war nur ein unbekanntes Gerät das ich gesehen habe, der Arduino Mega selber, den Treiber dafür habe ich installiert. Fehlt da noch einer?

Hallo, ich plane meinen Orca mit RAMPS statt mit Gen6 zu betreiben, habe mir dazu ein Komplettset mit Display zugelegt. Firmware ist da wohl schon drauf, zumindest funktioniert das Display sobald Strom dran ist, auch die Temperatur des Thermistors wird im Display korrekt angezeigt. Leider funktioniert die Verbindung zum PC nicht, weder zu meinem Hauptrechner (Win 7/64 bit) noch zu meinem Lapto

Ich habe KISSlicer in den letzten Wochen intensiv genutzt und bin sehr zufrieden damit. Das Slicing geht schnell, der Support ist stabil und lässt sich leicht entfernen. I have Marlin 1.0.0 RC 1 on my Orca. I believe you can download it from Mendel-Parts. The Orca 0.3 usually does not have a deluxe board, IMHO. At least mine does not have one.

I tried a print with support, but it failed since Slic3r tried to create a needle made from single dots to support a printed head (chin area). Needless to say, this did not work. Slic3r is a great piece of software, but support structures still need work.

Hello Jan, probably the baud rate is wrong. If you have Marlin on your Orca (which is very likely for an Orca 0.4, my 0.3 already had it) you need to go up to 250.000 baud, you won't get a connect otherwise. But then, I don't know what Makemendel uses, my Orca is from Mendelparts.

Du musst sie auf den Drucker ziehen und den Toopath berechnen. Dann kannst du den GCode unter "Toolpath" exportieren.

Schneller als Skeinforge und Slic3r, und bessere Qualität beim Druck. Jedenfalls nach dem was ich anderswo gelesen habe, da das Ding bei mir nicht funzt kann ich leider nur nachplappern. Ob dir das 150 Euronen wert ist musst du selbst entscheiden.

Ich habe es mal versucht, war aber nicht sehr erfolgreich. Die Kalibrierung lief nicht so dolle, ich habe einen Orca ohne Übersetzung im Extruder, das konnte ich nirgendwo voreinstellen. Daher versuchte er dann beim Kalibrieren meterweise Material durch den Extruder zu schieben, was natürlich nicht sehr gut funktioniert. I did two plastic holders for a kitchen system with support. I used PLA and a glass plate. The first print did not work, the support did not cool fast enough, and yes, it's very thin. In the second print I did two pieces at the same time and used a fan for cooling, this worked well enough. I don't know if the thing would work on a much bigger model, though. That would depend on how steep the dome is. Angles up to 45 degrees are printable without support, if you need flatter angles, you would need support material, which can be removed after the print.

I hat problems with this hotend too. In my Orca the gap between the brass insert/idler and the opening of the hot end is too big, the filament bends away to the side after a short time. I fixed it with this part on thingiverse, I don't have problems with the extruder any more. Maybe this will work for you too?

Thank you for the input, folks. JHB is just the guy who sold me his printer, not a shop or something. I have solved my problem, as it seems. The gap between the hotend and the extruder seems to be to big, the abs filament just bent sideways and did not go down the hotend. I found this thing on thingiverse, which solved the problem for me. Hexagon from DAZ is still free , until end of April for now. It's the second extension of the "free" period, maybe it's free even after. It's a modeler and not a CAD solution, but it could work for you. As long as it's free you may give it a try.

Schön zu hören das es noch weitere Reprap-Interessierte aus Hannover gibt. Ich bin auch gerade dabei mir einen Drucker zuzulegen, ich freue mich schon auf den Erfahrungsaustausch. Weiteres hoffentlich kurz nach Ostern.... :-) Ich muss schon sagen, deine Tätigkeiten in Sachen Dampfboot sind sehr beeindruckend.
