Hi,
I'm selling my RepRap, it just needs a power supply and the free software installing on your computer and you could be printing your own 3D parts.
Comprises:
ABS joining parts.
Steel threaded rod and 8mm rods.
Wade Extruder, combined with an Arcol.hu hot end with a 0.5mm nozzle fitted and another 0.35mm nozzle.

Thanks Rich
I found that by having zero extra shells, it didn't do an inner loop and just filled to the outer profile.

Hi,
I'm struggling to find an adjustment to properly fill the component. The printer prints a perimeter and the loops, but seems to print an inner perimeter and only fill within this inner perimeter.
here's the gcode plot, see attached.
Has anyone any ideas how to fix this?
cheers

looks like my problem with end stops was a problem with Marlin or at least the release I downloaded, went back to sprinter and all is well with the end stops.
Now just need to get the extruder to actually extrude when its supposed to be printing.

RAMPS Electronics
You dont need power to the ramps board, or even have the ramps board connected to the Arduino to load the firmware. The USB will provide sufficient power for loading the firmware

Hi all
I'm struggling to get the X and Y axis end stops to be recognised.
stranglely enough the z axis end stop works fine
since I have microswitches supplied with the electronic I've left

Hi
just finished building and installing the firmware and software so I guess I'm trying to setup the Prusa.
the first thing I've noticed is that +X goes towards the micro switch
where as +Z and +Y go away from their micro switches.
I'm guessing the X axis is wronb, but what is the easiest way to reverse it's direction?

Hi folks
reporting todays events
I disconnected the Arduino and reloaded sprinter.
ran the redsnapper host software, tried to connect and failed.
I downloaded the Marlin firmware and did the mods to the code for the mother board etc
uploaded the firmware to the arduino.
ran the redsnapped tried to connect and failed.
After scratching my head and staring at the USB lead, I plugged it into a di

On the sprinter readme there is a section on software installation which say
1. Install the required packages (gcc-avr, avr-libc, etc.)
sudo apt-get install arduino-core
Has anyone any idea what the gcc-avr, avr-libc, are?
or the sudo apt-get or are these Linux specific things?
Cheers

With the Arduino on the desk in front of me, and with the sprinter firmware installed.
When I press connect to the printer on the "simple" tab of redsnapper host software, the USB "RX" LED flashes and the "L" LED lights up for approx 8 seconds. So there is some communication to the board.
No lights go on if I press the buttons on the interactive "tab" though.
Is there some other piece of softwa

I thought I'd posted before but I guess I didn't press the go button or something
I've disconnected the arduino and loaded the blinking light test which seems to work fine, so its not a problem programming the arduino.
I've installed the redsnapper pc host software which looks very stylish and has the option to select the correct com port, when you press the connect to reprap, the R

Hi all
I've been scratching my head and trying to find something to explain the lack of connection
I've found in the preferences of the host software a section
Port name
which is set to /dev/ttyUSB0
how do I know which port the reprap is attached to?

Hi Traumflug,
I assume you are refering to the requirements of a PC PSU. I didn't know that a PC PSU would require a load on the 5V rail, but I'm using a Pro Peak 13.8V Power supply, rated at 20A which I normally use for charging the batteries of my robot. So that,s not it.
I've measured the volts at the 5A input to the ramps board and that's a steady 13.76 volts.

Hi all,
it seems like one step forward just leads to another wall.
The good news is the Prusa is built. I finally figured out how to upload the sprinter firmware into the Arduino Mega2560.
adjusted the configuration.h
#define MOTHERBOARD 33 for the ramps 1.3
adjusted the pins.h
uncommented the
// #define RAMPS_V_1_3
I powered up the Prusa and no smoke hurah but then..... nothing..

Hi again
back home now and having another go. I loaded the Arduino-0023 and downloaded the sprinter firmware since the previous download was depricated.
I opened the sprinter.pde with the Arduino-0023 and was asked to put it in a folder, which it did, but it didn't load the other files in tabs as was suggested.
and when I did a verify there were a lot of errors.
any ideas?
cheers

Firmware - mainstream and related support
Hi Guys
I've very nearly finished the build and wiring of the RepRap, but on looking at the firmware, I get lost between
The Arduino-1 software that I've loaded onto my computer and how I get the firmware in there to compile and load onto the Arduino Mega2560.
I downloaded the Topokip firmware but this looks like C or something similar
theres one .pde file and a lot of .h files

I also think this a very useful comparison of the available electronics sets ups and should be on the reprap wiki. I've already committed to the RAMPS setup but it would have been really useful when I was looking for the best electronics sets for me. There is no one right answer but having it laid out in one place would be a great help. Especially if it included sources and links.

The Gen 6 electronics looks like a neat solution, although its probably traded a bit of flexibility, you cannot argue with the price.
The heated bed section makes an interesting read, the bonding the resistors to the plate looks to be the easiest option. I don't fancy trying to tap blind holes into aluminium.
I was a bit disappointing in the 50mm x M8 bolts for the extruder. It looks like the t

I'm now the proud owner of 100 M8x50mm bolts so if any UK RepRappers need a couple PM me.
The 608 bearings have turned up as well so I'll be having a go at the hobbing with a tap.
AndrewD hows the bed coming along, it's not something I've looked into yet, is it just a straight forward rectangle of MDF and aluminium? In passing I've noticed that people are heating them and they need some form o

re the hot end, I've just ordered one from arcol.hu The website is a bit dire, with the shopping cart already filled in with the entire content of the shop when you first go to it, but once that was sorted out, they responded to the message when I put the order in. I thought I was pre-ordering a kit of parts but they have them in stock and the arcol hot ends are post free. I though it was quite

Hi Guys,
I was looking at the extruder bits and thinking about the best way to go. I could just buy a pre-hobbed bolt but then if I do that with everything it's going to get expensive and the hobbing doesn't look that hard. on the other hand buying a bag of bolts from screwfix comes to a similar price to 1 hobbed bolt from ebay or similar but you get 100 bolts from screwfix. Perhaps we could form

Hi Guys
The build would be going a lot smoother if I hadn't started collecting parts for the original Mendel then decided to build the Prusa lol. The Mendel uses 2 608 bearing and the Prusa needs 3 so that stopped build today. I must admit I've not done much planning as there's no sign of the electronics, I expect they'll take a couple of weeks as I ordered the assembled set. So the little hick

Just wondering how many budding or actual fully active RepRap-ers there are in the UK?
I myself have just started building in earnest. I have the Prusa plastic set, I've ordered the make it go electronics kit from XYZprinters and I'm waiting for their hot end arco extruders to come back into stock.
Today M8 penny washers have stopped play grrrr.
